  • Pickaso Guitar Bow allows you to take your acoustic guitar playing to a new dimension. While using the bow you can achieve sounds similar to the Violin/Viola/Cello family of instruments. Since it was designed with guitar players specifically in mind, the sound comes through with beautiful quality and depth. I believe this bow allows a player to expand their creative insights on the acoustic guitar!
    Recorded live using Spire Studio.

    Hi Dylan. Just discovered your channel. Awesome and inspiring demo of the bow! Thank you for posting.
    On a production note ... this is beautifully shot and the audio of the demo is great! My only suggestion is to upgrade from the SM57 mic that you used in the intro. My respectful recommendation comes to you from personal experience. After years (30+!) of using the SM57 as my go to ... I wanted to raise the bar as I started singing significantly more lead vocal--as single, in a duo and in a cover band. I found an amazing audio expert who agreed to help me demo 6 or 7 mics. My budget for a new mic was up to $1200. yes expensive but your voice is everything... why skip on the quality of a mic? Long story short ... the Sennheiser e865 took my voice to a whole new level AND for under $300! It's made all the difference in my live performances. Highly recommend... whether you go with a Sennheiser or other stepup mic. Again ... this suggested with all the respect in the world. Thanks again for your awesome demo!! Looking forward to more.

    Truly mesmerizing! I‘ve been close to buying one of these but for one thing: The makers state on their site that it doesn‘t work on coated strings, and I use (and love) the Elixir NanoWeb Phos. Bronze strings. I wonder if you or anybody watching this video might have tried the bow on such strings? Is that really not feasible in terms of playability or sound?

    • @norbertplaysguitar7244
      @norbertplaysguitar7244 2 года назад +2

      I use a normal bow on a guitar. And I can tell you that coated strings are not suitable. The other thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough is that, your strings and guitar are not going to be clean after you use a normal blanket. The strings get dull pretty fast. It’s not a problem if you got a guitar that is played mostly with bow, it could be even satisfying to lose some of the high end. But if you love the sound of fresh string and a clean guitar using a bow with rosin is not the way to go.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 2 года назад +3

      @@norbertplaysguitar7244 Thank you very much, Norbert, for sharing your valuable experience with this! :-) Based on your remarks, I will refrain from getting this bow (or any other), since I don‘t have a guitar that I‘d set aside for uncoated strings, and only for use with a bow. I‘d surely not enjoy having a messy instrument, either. Thanks for saving me from potential disappointment.

    • @norbertplaysguitar7244
      @norbertplaysguitar7244 2 года назад +1

      @@scottbecker3485 you’re welcome. Are you familiar with the concept of the E-Bow? It’s an electric Devise held in your rhytm Hand a bring your strings constantly in motion via magenetism(I guess). It doesn’t work exactly like a Bow but brings interessting and long sustain sounds. I use it a lot on acoustic and electric guitars. It should even work with coated strings and doesn‘t turn your guitar in to a rosin mess. It’s not a Bow, but worth checking out if you’re into experimenting with guitars.

      I know, my violin was only a bit over twice that and I would imagine that due to needing more hair as well as longer hair and more wood that it would cost more to make! I mean the hairs have to be sorted by length for a violin bow, they could use the rejects! And I got a reasonable beginner instrument, rosin AND a case for my money too! Plus Better be damn good! I know it's a niche product and while I'd be interested in a short bow I can play with my acoustic guitar to experiment with, if I am looking for the sound of a violin, I'll stick to practising! If I just want to mess around, afraid a rosined pen will have to do! If it was a bit cheaper I'd be tempted, perhaps I'll just order some horse hair and fashion a crude short bow with some offcuts of wood!

      @Kkgolem It works as advertised. Of course that means I have to work on my technique. For people who want to bow, it definitely allows it. The deeper/thicker strings are harder to get a good tone with, but a lot of that has to do with the diminutive nature of the bow. Very fun to practice with.
