This is a sick walkthrough. Ive done a lot of local targeting for service businesses but I like using micro locations to create traffic to leverage as a business. Smart :)
Something I'd like to highlight, fam niche down!! Pick a specific thing and be a master at it. When I started seo, I was all over the place and decided to focus on local seo and I have great results. Nathan did not ask me to do this, please get his book. It will make you life and work easier.
For the first part of the video, what if my target clients are not from this micro-location - will it still be worth it building my portfolio site from there or should my microlocation and target client location overlap?
This is a highly promising approach, Nathan. Thank you for sharing it so encouragingly. Should the local city be where I live in or can it be any micro location? I live in India and there won’t be as much public data as in the US. Also, I’d love to get clients from the US.
How do you make sure your content is updated. For instance, in the news today, 2 grocery stores and one Dairy Queen in Northern California have closed (the minimum wage went up yesterday)
Great video Nathan. I think it’s important to point out, the keyword data that SEMrush provides, is displayed in years, not months. So 54,000 keyword searches for the city was for 12 months, not per month. That can set someone up on a massive disappointment when their numbers are off by 90%.
So for people with no capital, you’re suggesting they have to “learn some skills” and build ai apps for themselves? This is not actionable realistic advice for people:
If you have no money, then you have to learn skills. There is no shortcut. Plus, ChatGPT allows you to build basic applications without coding skills. Watch this: ruclips.net/video/1IHUqK7wX4Y/видео.htmlsi=q33NQ_QPebbpTFF0

Hello, thanks for the great content! How do local directory websites rank high on Google even if they have few words on their websites?
