I am loving mine as well! I was thoroughly blown away with how darn clear /crisp this 3-18 Gen 2 SLX glass really is...Especially being "chinesesium" glass....I am guessing China has a specific factory that makes especially good glass? This glass seems to be close to right on par with high end scopes from about 20 years ago. Best 500 bucks I've spent in a while.
I have the gen 1 version (same reticle) on my tikka tx1 (22lr bolt action rifle). I love it for plinking on a bright day (especially for the price), but id want better glass for longer range. Btw PA currently has a sale for their Glx 1-6 LPVO ($600 to $400... basically the Glx line for Slx price). Again, for the price, it's excellent. Best part of PA is their value.
Are you going to be doing a review of the PA GLX 3-18x44 Athena BPR Mil ……. I really want that for my 18” AR waiting on a review before I pull the trigger
I have their 4x16 glx i wonder if this new 3x18 is almost as good as older glx quality. Wpuld love to know if it would be worth selling to go to a 3x18
I have the GLX 4-16 from 3 years ago as well as the new Gen 2 3-18 and I actually just compared the two today side to side. ...The clarity /contrast of the new SLX gen 2 is surprisingly very close to the older GLX to be honest. I did notice the GLX had a tad bit more "rich" color but even that was hard to notice. I was blown away with how good the new SLX glass is for the money , plus with the Athena reticle it's perfect for my new DD5 V4 18 inch barrel.
Great review! Looking at this scope for my AR .308 build. I’m a little confused on what scope mount I should chose from primary arms when purchasing this exact scope. Any incite would be appreciated.
@@kkduncansonnot. The same league. 6.5G is designed around a 123gr bullet and runs about 2350fps. 6.5C uses 140gr+ and hits 2750fps. 6.5G at 1000 has about 400ft lbs 6.5C has like 700ft lbs at the same range
@@kkduncanson 6.5 Grendel is ran through the AR-15 platform while the 6.5 Creedmoor is run through the AR-10 and actually uses the same casing as the 308. The Grendel however doesn’t use the 556 or 223 casing. It’s quite a bit larger than the 556 and it utilizes pretty much the full length use of a AR-15 magazine. It uses a different bolt and actually it’s own magazines are available. It’s becoming more and more popular and available in bolt action as well.
@@simpsonrdlarry4385 I know..... I should've rephrased the question..... are the 6.5 grendel and Creedmoor the superior long range cartridges for their respective actions (short and long).......
@@kkduncanson LOL, Well that’s a debate that you’ll probably never get a definitive answer to, but I will say that there are pluses and minuses to each of them. They’re both flat shooting laser beams and obviously you get the advantage of a heavier, fast projectile in the Grendel.
I would like to see a 3 to 18 compact. 22 oz Full grid reticle . Thick outer crosshairs to guide you to the center in 3x. The outer cross should have mil lines for team navegation and ranging large things like trucks and airplanes. Full human auto ranging ladder on the right side and half human lader on the left above the x-axis in order to not interfere with horizontal milling.
Hello Kota, friends. I have been setting up a .458socom and want to do a scope instead of a red dot. Obviosuly dont need anything too crazy distance wise, but do need something that can handle the round. Any suggestions ? My only request is that suggestions are within reason for a middle class guy that dosnt have 2k to spend on a gucci unit. Thank you
KB32 Tactical you shoot out side your door we can't cop will be called I have go to the wetland fire anything but the scope look like good one thumb up my hawk scope have setting lock this keep focus point or setting at number you set it at
Not a fan of lower end PA optics, they're basically same as any trash tier Chinese glassed scope. Fine for fair weather, square range, slow fire plinking I guess. But they really fall short in any kind of weather or less than optimal lighting conditions.
gonna have to disagree with ya uncle bob. not high end, but absolute steal for the price. shot well into the evenings & never had fogging or whatever "issue" you had with weather. and definitely better than a most if not all of budget scopes.
@@dogwalk3 your mileage may vary. Every Chinese scope I've looked through seems to have the same dull hue about it. On turrets and overall construction I agree, PAs look and feel like they are made better than most scopes in their category.
LOL, wake up Uncle Bob..."chinseium" glass has gotten incredibly clear / high quality in the past 5 years or so, if sourced from specific factories in China. I guarantee if you tried this new Gen 2 SLX you would retract your statement. Is it Japanese /German glass/ Nope... it IS close to Philippines glass however no question.
I got mine two weeks ago paid with there 45° mount with an acro p2. I absolutely love it.
we are loving it!

Looks like a nice scope. Great vid Sir
Is there a capped option for both turrets? I use the ret for most.
I’m a big fan of Primary Arms I have the gen 1 3-18x50 ACSS HUD it’s a great scope. Now I need the Gen 2 for my bolt gun

for installation on a Flat top AR what mount height would you recommend?
Does it have locking turrets?

Why would you want shake awake with a long range 50mm scope??? Makes no sense? It’s not for CQB.
Because you conserve and extend battery life, make sense?

SLX is not medium level. It's their entry level.
That is entry level prices with a bunch of high end features.
Incorrect. Their Classic series is entry level.
