my flex tool is not shown. I just want to turn it on. I do not understand any of the lingo like escape tool etc. if I right click and scroll down I do not see it on the scroll. I have watched other videos but I am not seeing the same commands on my screen. is there a way that a green horn like me can turn it on so I can attempt to use it?

hi Joe, do you have any idea why does my vocal sounds doubled after aplying flex time polyphonic?
I have tried multiple things such as removing recording tempo and writing a project tempo on the audio again but nothing seems to work, any ideas what could that be?

I don’t know why but when I click the flex button nothing pops up on my track what did I do wrong ?
Would you use this rather than the time and pitch machine or is flex a totally different beast? I’ve always used both but never really found the best option for stretching short musical loops
It depends on what you're using it on, but if it's just for stretching short loops, flex would be my go to - but it would depend on the specific loop :)
Question. Once I'm done editing with flextime and turn it off, the changes disappear. If I turn it back on again, the changes are still there, but I can't get them to 'stick' without bouncing the part I've worked on. Is there a simpler way to do this?
I tend to just leave it on, but if I need to turn it off I just bounce the audio in place, as it's quicker than bouncing it then importing it again :)

What does "bounce the audio in place" mean and how do I do that?
@@chad969 I'm not sure how to explain technically what bouncing in place does, but basically it allows you to duplicate an audio file and it gives you flexibility when choosing how the duplicated audio file is created.
To bounce in place, just right click the file, go down to "Bounce and Join" and then click on "Bounce in Place". This should pop up a little window that has a list of settings. From there, you can choose the destination ("new track" to create a new track for the audio or "selected track" to keep the duplicated audio on the same track as the original). Then you can choose what to do with the source, or the original audio. You can leave it, mute it, or delete it. The next settings on the list have to do with plugins. You can "include audio tail in file", which will basically include any reverb/delay/etc. that plays past the end of the original file. As for "Include audio tail in region", I'm not sure what that does but I've always just left it checked. And then you can also choose whether or not to keep any volume and panning automation that may be on the original file. For "Normalize", I also just leave it at the default "Overload Protection Only". Anyways, hopefully that's helpful. I realize that since your comment was from 3 months ago, there's a chance you've already found a solution by now. Either way, it's good practice for me explaining things XD.

Ok, I’ve applied flextime/editing to a six channel drum recording. But when I “save” it, then turn off the flex feature. The edit disappears and the transients snap right back to their original places. How can continue with flex edited tracks, without having to keep flex on and continuously using all that processing power?
If you're happy with the final edit you can 'bounce in place' 👍
Of course the track I want to use the flex on doesnt show the box with all the options. Nor will the flex tool do anything

I have a guitar track on a project that is slightly out of time because of the playing. But I cannot recreate the sound because the feel then disappears. When i use flex time it sound weirds sometimes because of the effects on the guitar. How can I make it on time and sound natural??

@@simenh2484 Unfortunately this is the struggle with audio engineering. Here's what I recommend: dial in a metronome to the basic tempo of your recording. Then you will get a clear picture of what to re-record if you are that desperate to salvage the track. But honestly, I would just re-record the track CLEAN, with a metronome, and then go piece by piece, re-recording parts until you have a good recording with no major flaws. Then you can add effects to it and produce it the way you want. I know this is so late but good luck; getting started recording is a big learning curve because of all of the time you will feel you have wasted, but that time is short if you persevere. Cheers!

Does Logic have the ability to flex the measures? In Cubase, you can use Warp grid which moves the entire measure by adjusting the tempo in miniscule amounts, then you can lock the audio to the tempo map. Once that's done, you can remove any tempo fluctations and it all lines up to one solid tempo. Great tool for live performances. How would this be done in logic?
