Great interview. I've seen Keith play a number of times with SD and up close and personal at a small club here in Seattle, always an amazing performance. I really enjoy his playing.
I had the dumb luck to go to school with Jeff Porcaro and his brothers in LA. I watched Jeff play his first gigs with Steely Dan 50 years ago in 1974.
Besides being a prodigy, Jeff was a nice guy. Somebody you could hang with, and I did. He helped many get a foot in the door, including Michael Mcdonald and David Paich with SD. Music is truly about relationships, it can be a small world.

It took me until age 45 to find out how much I loved (and can naturally play) drums. It was life changing. Keith is an unreal player. Super versatile.

His drumming made “Toto XIV.” A phenomenally musical drummer.

This guy is the consummate pro musician. To get the call to play with Steely Dan is the ultimate in my opinion. You have to be pretty consistent and spectacular to satisfy Becker and Fagen.

Just wonderful! Thank you. What a powerhouse Keith is. I saw him live with Steely Dan a few years ago. It was a magnificent gig.

One of my favorite drummers! Keith has it all rhythmically! Power, dynamics, technical ability. He's the total package. And his doubles strokes are in a class by themselves.

Keith was great in Steely Dan but flunked in Toto. And double booked himself.
