Archery seasons sneaking up right around the corner, hope you're getting locked in. Any vids you'd like to see? Have a great week friends
Hey Tim. I am fairly new to the archery world (>1 year) and I really appreciate the content you post. I'd like to see your take on things you wish you knew when you first started shooting a bow / archery hunting big game.
Maybe a video on what's a good intro self filming setup for tree stand ground blind and stalking. Something lightweight and reliable. Something a casual social media person can rock? Audio setup too?
Could we get a review or comparison of the Spot Hogg Boonie and the HHA Tetra Ryz X3
I bought one. It rattled non stop on every shot. I tightened every screw down, making sure not to strip any of them. Couldn't get it to stop rattling.
Also, the fibers weren't the brightest in low light. I think black gold gets the advantage, there. But in high light, the ultraview pins would Starburst.
Like you, I felt that it was a bit "fragile" with the micro click. Since it was going on a hunting rig, I sent it back after a week.
Been using the black gold dual trac pro (micro adjust) with 0.010 fibers and a shot hogg boonie triple stack with 0.019 fibers on my setups. Both sights are a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the UV. I think they are better built for a hunting rig.
Just my $0.02. I know UV has a ton of fans who swear by their products. I love their hinge 2 and have been shooting it for a couple years. I just think their sights need some more RnD.
I came across your channel and while I am a target shooter and don't even hunt, your comments and suggestions are more than fair. Especially considering the price point of this sight. It's up there with high end target sites.
I love my slider. No pin brightness issues. Easy, reliable, and I can take the scope off when I put it in my case. I was worried about the gamble when I bought it because I wanted the SH Boonie but they still have not released yet. I have had zero issues with this sight. Could have done without the case though, it doesn't benefit me in any way.
I will say, this is not the most expensive sight. Garmin Xero A1i still wears that crown. 😂
Great honest review thanks Tim.
Thank you dude ✊
I agree 100%. The no zero stop adjustment is aggravating.
be nice to see it!
You look way better in my opinion, thanks i really enjoy your videos and get aLot out them
I was super excited to get one, and was immediately ticked off. being a lefty, all they did was take a right handed sight and flip it upside down. the locking lever is at the bottom the pins were all wonky, and it was not what I was expecting for the price tag. hopefully in the near future they will make a true lefthanded sight, but for now just waiting for my boonie. loving the new haircut!
Yeah that’s frustrating.. thanks G
So for the most expensive hunting sight on the market it's lacking basic features of sights at a fraction of its cost. But you get a really cool carrying case though.
The most expensive would be the Garmins..but yeah.
Black Gold Pro with a wing truss dovetail is just as pricey, but has superior build quality.
@@ecrank83but at least you’ve got the actual usefulness of the range finding tech
They gotta make money somehow tho
Ive been using the UV3XL scope since it came out, on a Hogg father sight bar and it has been phenomenal! The slider in concept seems great, but there is still some major improvements they need to tackle first. I will be looking to get the spot Hogg boogie sight bar next to mate up with my UV3XL to keep a good thing going. Great overall review of this system Tim!
I recently bought the UV slider with the 2 pin small housing. I love it and just shot a 3D event with it. Also nice haircut
Just got the same set up, but I can’t find zero instructions for the two pin.
@@85krink take out the top green pin indicator on the slider and just use the yellow and the bottom green pin indicator. Site your yellow indicator as your top pin for 20 yards the bottom green pin will be your second pin. You have to figure out where it hits for you. Mine is 36 yards for my second pin.
@@ChadR41 thank you. Thats what I was expecting to have to do, but I wasn’t sure. I appreciate you!
Is there no way to coordinate green pin with green indicator? Or do you have to take out that top, use the gold as your top (with green pin) and green pin with (orange pin). My ocd wants them to match.
@@Mwozphoto
Unfortunately I am not sure. I actually called UV to ask them and they advised to take out the top green pin. And only use the yellow and green with my two pin setup. They said if you zero with the gold pin if you change cartridges your zero will be the same.
I’m liking mine so far. My only problem with it is the pins. They’re so dull like hardly any color when shooting on a really sunny day. Supper hard to see them. That’s pretty much it though!
Love my slider! I used 6 other sights in the past 4 years and not one has come close.
Have the UV slider in the BridgeLock version. It’s a really nice sight. I only shoot foam with it so there is no need for a zero stop. The first pin on the vertical is supposed to be the yellow one as far as I heard. And there is a second indicator for the bonus pin, if someone didn’t know already.
I‘m thinking about upgrading to a Axcel Achieve XP Pro. I really want to try out something with a fine adjustment and don’t need the fast dial capability, I thought I would need to be honest.
Liking the clean look
The pins without the light were soooo dim for me. I had to get rid of mine. But I think that’s the only thing wrong with it
Hey Tim, Newer archer here and just found your channel and have been enjoying your content. I especially enjoy your budget bow content and was wondering if you had any review/test videos on Mission bows? I recently (1 year ago) purchased the MXR from my local pro shop. It seems good but I don't know much about archery yet.
I just got one two weeks ago. I like everything about the scope but for a $600 sight the pin brightness sucks in low light conditions. Which is a big one for me.
Real happy with my HHA Ryz
It needs some improvements but they are on the right track.
See I put that scope on my dialed site and it eliminated all those problems. The only thing that I don't have is a first axis coming off of the bow into the site, but if that bar is bent that's the only way it wouldn't be square, right?
Let's go! 🏹
Looking pretty spiffy
Currently borrowing an Axcel 3 pin landslyde and it seems to have a similar issue to the UV where it is quite tricky to get your zero stop at 20. Coming from a Black Gold where you can move the entire housing vertically and horizontally independent of the rail makes this problem just that much more annoying to me. It is even more annoying because I have skirted some of the zero stop issue with a sticky sight tape instead of their metal tapes. I have it just about dialed in where I want it and knowing how difficult it has already been with the zero stop, I may just stick with my temp sticky sight tape and not put a metal one on.
BTW, most of this is probably user error as I don't have any experience with sights outside of Trophy Ridge or Black Gold. Arguably, the two most user friendly sights on the market.
Still considering the UV slider, but I may wait to see what they come out with for version two. I would currently rather just swap my BG Dual Track back and forth between bows than spit out that much money on a sight I will still have quarks with. Appreciate the long term review, this is exactly what I have been looking for, keep up the good work!
The Landslyde should have a red block on the elevation rail that you can use to set your zero stop. It's on the same side as the dial for moving your sight. Unless you have the rail extremely high, there should be ample ways to mount it to get your 20 yard stop set.
I think I'm going to get the spot hogg boonie double pin with 0.10 pins.
I love the UV sight...but man I hate the mount. UV on a Tetra mount has been a godsend.
Ok. That’s all good and all. Would you buy it again. ?
I never buy 1st gen products....that's my stance.
😀👍🏻
Also I'm a short hair fan 😅
I like the sight. I don't like the scope
I would like the ability to use a different scope with the sight. 😢
So what is the best sight for the money? I'm very new to bow hunting and would mainly hunt with my bow. But also want either 2 or 3 dots in the sight
Can't beat the black gold micro adjustable or the spot hogg Boonie
black gold mtn lite is really solid for the money and being a slider
Top secret. A axcel acuu hunter is great for the price too. No one ever talks about them 🤷♂️. Its half the price and has everything. Zero stop 1sr,2nd,3rd axis. You can run different scopes.
@@TimConnor13 can you zero stop the mtn lite?
Black gold is very user friendly. You can pick up a used one for very affordable. The micro adjust for vertical and horizontal adjustments is a game changer, you don’t realize how nice it is until you try sighting in something different.
Looks better without the flow
Finally…a haircut!!!
Feels gooood
I was hoping you was going to come on rocking a MFJJ Mohawk when you got it cut 😂
Lol the original plan was for a mullet
I figured that’s what your original plan was and that would have looked good too, but you and Josh twinning with Mohawks would be cool too, love the content by the way, and also love my UV slider on my alpha x 30
Your pin gaps are insane 😂
🏹🎯
Can we talk about it being made in China?
Doo looks great! Way overpriced for less features.
The lack of adjustment on the vertical pins are the main thing keeping me from buying this sight....
As soon I saw it didn’t have a zero stop i was out. Then that was the first i heard that you cant move the rail and the scope independently of each other. Wowzers for top shelf pricing thats seems to be a few short comings.
The videos have really slowed down huh? 🤔. Where are these broadhead tests y’all keep talking about?
Thank you for losing the flow and letting the beard catch up the stash
It’s way to expensive and my cheap 100 dollar sight does the same thing
If it projects a bean or emits a light by using any type of battery power should be banned for all hunting purposes...
We don't need that much of an electronic advantage over the wild game we hunt...
3d archery or spot shoots where your shooting only foam or paper I say have at it...
But not in the woods chasing wild game...
Don’t turn it on while hunting?
Looks cool but sucks, NEXT😆
I love the content brother!!
