Mostly i do think you're entirely right. I think you've convinced me and I'll skip asking for people to subscribe in my next videos i make on my two new RUclips channels i recently started to hope to monetize (unlike this one which is all unmonetizable). There are people who never subscribe by default and they know subscribing is a thing but they don't know why it would be helpful so sometimes the more specific call to action from a very big Creator who's calling out how over 50% of their regular viewers didn't subscribe and, and this is key, actually taking the time to explain if you did subscribe I might be able to get better bigger collaborations and sponsorship deals and people want to support that Creator they loved it might push them over the edge to actually subscribe. If people knew you needed 1,000 subscribers to get monetized they might take the effort to stop listening to the phone like it's a podcast and pick it back up to hit the button and subscribe, as opposed to thinking: "it doesn't matter; I get recommended the video either way."
Free advice: To get the ring light from showing up on your glasses, get a different pair of glasses, pop out the lenses and nobody will notice. I can hardly see your eyes with the ring light. Just free advice!

100% agree, if someone likes your channel you they will like and subscribe anyways you dont need to say it
