Nothing beats a live orchestra. When I was in jr high and some of high school I played the violin. I wanted to play cello, but bus riders really didnt do that😄. I am so excited for your musical journey, I feel like it would be a nice stress reliever.

You have been missed! Such a sweet update though. My son plays cello. I always marveled at how giant the upright basses looked next to the cellos when the entire orchestra was on stage. He actually just graduated from Cincinnati's Conservatory of Music. There's such a vibrant music scene in that area. Best wishes on your new endeavors.

Will he be auditioning for orchestras next? I agree with you, the bass is such a massive instrument and it really is a bit of a physical workout to play it, lol. But it rings so beautifully and just fills my heart. I agree with you, Cincinnati has a lot to offer in the arts and we are lucky to have lots of different music here to go listen to. @@amysscentsandsongs So he actually switched his focus in high school. While he still plays cello his true love is composing. He writes beautiful pieces of music that we're hoping one day orchestras will be playing. Grad school is next on the agenda. He's taking a gap year. Last Spring we traveled for several different auditions and he found two programs that he fell in love with. Both were only taking on two grad school composition students. He was 3rd on both of their lists. It was a real heartbreaker. He did make it into several wonderful programs but he's decided to give Juilliard and Rice another go this year just to see what happens. He's got a few other schools that he's adding to the list so it'll definitely be an adventure. In the meantime he's focused on festivals, competitions and of course continuing to hone his writing skills. He stayed in the cincy area so he could continue working with the musicians and professors at CCM. And he's teaching cello on the side. Music is life around our house 😊
How exciting! My granddaughter started Chorus this year and loves it! She is so musically inclined! Dance, singing and wants to learn piano! I have always loved music and the theater myself! Glad to see u back!!

I love the upright base! My Brother went from violin to base in High school because they needed one to complete their orchestra. But he's tall and lanky, so the size was not an issue! Must be a rush to play, and to sing like you do! Loved hearing you sing on one of the videos! ❤ So nice to hear from you again!😊
