I don’t believe the position is in opposition to baptism. It’s the idea that baptism is a prerequisite for salvation that’s the issue. I teach, preach and encourage baptism in every way but we are saved by grace through faith. I don’t understand why that’s so hard to understand.

There are so many people that die without obeying the gospel. Because they believed a lie. Save yourselves, seek and you will find the truth! Why do you think that water baptism is the number one confusion among the world? Because the devil doesn’t want you to obey the gospel! He doesn’t want you to contact the blood of Christ! Which happens during baptism ❤

ANyone reading the Bible without being indoctrinated against baptism(taught it's a work of man) will not have a problem agreeing with everything the Bible says about it. FOr example: Doth baptism now save us? WHen they read 1 Peter 3:21 T or F? Paul was instructed by Aninias, to arise and be baptized and wash away his sins. Acts 22:16 Baptism washes away sin? T of F? ANytime you cannot just agree with what the scripture teaches about baptism, you know you have a different agenda.

Satan thought that he had defeated Jesus Christ at the cross. However, Satan did not know that God would give the gospel of the grace of God to the entire world. The word "mystery" means "hidden wisdom." Paul preached the "mysteries" revealed to him by Jesus Christ.
In Galatians 1:11-12 Paul tells us that he received the gospel of the grace of God from Jesus Christ.
    Galatians 1:11-12
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
In Ephesians 6:19-20 we see the mystery of the gospel of the grace of God that was ONLY preached by our Apostle Paul.
Ephesians 6:19-20 - The mystery of the gospel of the grace of God
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
In I Corinthians 2:7-8 we see the mystery of God’s hidden wisdom.
I Corinthians 2:7-8 - The mystery of God's hidden wisdom
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
In Ephesians 5:31-32 we see the mystery of the church that is the body of Christ.
Ephesians 5:31-22 - The mystery of the church
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Satan is the great deceiver. Many people do not know who deceitful Satan truly is. Preachers do not preach about Satan's deception. Are denominations of God or are they of Satan? I say that they are of Satan. Would God create all of the world's denominations? No, He would not. Satan has created all of the denominations. Satan does this by deceiving and creating combo gospels. These combo gospels are the result of combining the gospel of the kingdom, with the gospel of the grace of God.
Some combo gospels have water baptism as a must do for salvation. Other combo gospels have speaking in tongues as a must do for salvation. What all combo gospels have in common is that they add to or subtract from the gospel of the grace of God recorded in I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Ask yourself if your local congregation preaches that the church that is the body of Christ started on Pentecost. If it does, then your congregation preaches a combo gospel. All combo gospels are false gospels. These combo gospels deceive and confuse those who hear them.
I call on all denominations to stop preaching false combo gospels that cannot save and can ONLY destroy.

      - like Paul Acts 22:16 calling on the name of the Lord .

"how hard people work to get people not to be baptized" - not true. All saved Christians (believers) that I'm aware of baptize and preach baptism. They just don't put baptism higher than the blood of Jesus and contort scriptures to say we CONTACT the blood in the water. Water and blood mixed makes for diluted blood and a watered down Gospel.

Keep preaching the truth Brother. The faith only doctrine perpetuated by many denominations is so wicked. It reminds me of Genesis 3 when the serpent changes 1 word of God's commandments to Adam and Eve and the consequence of believing the serpent's interpretation was physical death for the human race. The consequences of leaving out baptism from the plan of salvation is eternal spiritual death. Just as is the "once saved always saved" doctrine. Those 2 are my biggest struggles with studying the Bible with people. I cannot believe that Peter would preach repent and be baptized at the sermon on Pentecost and then read all of the other conversion accounts in the book of Acts and somehow come out with the impression that baptism is an option.

" thief on the cross - how do you know he wasn't baptized?" The same way we know there can be no musical instruments in worship or We speak where the Bible speaks and are silent where the Bible is silent - well at least when it suits our purpose!! Just like we can't go back to the OT for musical instruments where they were commanded by God (not under the Law) but of course we can run full speed back there to Naaman or the walls of Jericho. After all we can challenge people to find faith ONLY but it's ok if we weave a bunch of verses together in an attempt to show the blood is contacted in the water. At least the word faith occurs about 245 in the NT (and many times it's only faith that is mentioned) but search as I may I can't find the word CONTACT even once. Rather difficult to understand for something that important.

In the water of baptism is where Christ circumcises a believer’s heart through their faith. Col 2:11-12
If you aren’t baptized in water in conjunction with believing in Christ, repenting of your sins, confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord then the above in Col 2:11-12 doesn’t occur and also one’s sins aren’t forgiven.
Covenant issue is the key. Third on the cross was under the old covenant - Jesus had authority on earth to forgive sins so he could do whatever he wanted as Lord.
New covenant/new way for the forgiveness of your sins began on Pentecost. 3,000 were baptized into Christ that day who believed.
If people want to risk their own salvation, that’s on them.

debid, the Jews were saved by believing the gospel of the kingdom written of in Luke 1:30-33.
When they believed that Jesus Christ was their Lord and Messiah, they were saved.
We find proof of this in John 1:12, John 3:18 and John 20:32. They were saved by believing that Jesus Christ was their Lord and Messiah and they believed that Jesus Christ would come back to establish His earthly kingdom.

The thief on the cross being baptized is not a legitimate response. Do yourself a favor and skip past that, you’re not making anyone feel intellectually inferior with that:) They will educate you on Roman crucifixion and what ad hoc means.
The Paul answer is weird because he is making his own translation and no prominent translations agree with him that I am aware of. It also does not fit the context and it seems he is only reading it that way because he deems baptism so important.

The thief on the cross not being baptized isn’t a legitimate response either. We have no clue if he was or wasn’t. He knew who Jesus was and said, this man has done nothing wrong and knew that he had a kingdom. Sounds to me he learned about Jesus and maybe obeyed him at one point in his life. But worldly sin pulled him into being a criminal. We have no time line how long he was in prison, was it his whole life or was he just caught and put in prison. Matthew 3:5-6 (ESV): 5 Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, 6 and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. What he is talking about in his lesson is that the criminal could have been baptized before he was put in prison as a criminal. We don’t know and those who say he wasn’t baptized don’t know either. So it’s a mute point, all we know is Jesus had the power to forgive sins while he was here on earth. Mark 2:10 and Matthew 9:6. He has now asked us to go to the water of baptism for the forgiveness of our sins and that’s the avenue for us to reach forgiveness and the means by which we are saved and put into Him.

There you go again. We have no clue whether the thief was baptized of not because the NT doesn't say. Isn't it strange that we can be 100% sure musical instruments can't be used in a worship service because the NT is silent on the matter even though the OT commanded their use (not part of the Law) and they are used in heaven per the book of Revelation.
One other thing you take for granted is that Jesus forgave the thief’s sins and saved him at that time. Jesus never says, “Your sins are forgiven”; he just tells him, “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Jesus knew the thief believed, was repentant, and had faith in him. So, when the thief died after Jesus died, he would be saved under the New Testament. (Hebrews 9:16: “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.”)

@@mattvaught4689 This is the definition of ad hoc, it is objectively not a good argument. This part of "it sounds to me" is akin to I will read context into scriptures. Everyone from that area knew who Jesus was. His disciples' baptism had nothing to do with baptisms post-resurrection anyway. Concocting a narrative in ad-hoc fashion is not an argument, at best, it's an attempt to answer an objection.
I hear this quite often that Jesus had power to forgive sins on earth. This is quite weird, does Jesus not have power to forgive sins now. Do we believe post-resurrection that he is powerless to forgive sins? Again, just not a good objection in my opinion.
Lastly, I would disagree with this baptism being part of regeneration. Paul clearly disagreed with it as well. It is extremely important as it shows; that you are a disciple of Jesus, that you are unashamed, and it is a picture of the internal washing that has taken place in your heart, the spiritual baptism.
God does not require the necessity of a physical object (water) to delimit his power, he can save at any time and any place of his choosing. To say otherwise, would be to undermine his power and fix it to something physical.

Josh, I do believe in water baptism for the gospel of the kingdom program. In fact, the Jews were to be baptized because they are to be a nation of priests starting with the Millennial Kingdom. They will be mediators between the Gentiles saved by the gospel of the kingdom program and God.
The church of Thyatira will rule over Gentle nations during the coming Millennial Kingdom as seen in Revelation 2:26.
Christ was baptized to fulfill all Righteousness as the High Priest of Israel. Matthew 3:13-15.
Hebrews 2:17 and Hebrews 5:10 speak of Christ being the High Priest of the nation of Israel.
Ezekiel 36:25 talks of God sprinkling clean water upon Israel. This refers to the return of Christ to earth and the Millennial Kingdom.
Priests went through washings in order to conduct Tabernacle and Temple duties.
In Acts Chapter 18:8 we see that Crispus the chief ruler of the synagogue was water baptized along with his household and others of the synagogue as well.
We see where Crispus had to step down as the chief ruler of the synagogue. We see Sosthenes became the chief ruler of the synagogue in verse 17.
We know that Sosthenes would be baptized as well because we see where Paul calls Sosthenes his brother in I Corinthians 1:1.
In I Peter 2:9 Peter tells the Jews that they are a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. We see in Exodus 19:6 where God tells the Israelites that they will be a kingdom of priests.
In Matthew 24:14 Christ tells that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world and then the end will come. This refers to the Tribulation when the gospel of the kingdom will be preached and then Christ will return and defeat Satan.
Yes, I do believe in water baptism under the gospel of the kingdom program.
However, we are under the gospel of the grace of God. We have Spirit baptism whereby we are Spiritually baptized into the body of Christ.
I hope that you will believe the gospel of the grace of God and then be saved. I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Lastly, all denominations combine the two gospels and then preach their own false gospel. The fact that they all do this does not make it right. It only makes it harder to preach the one true gospel that saves us today.
The Berean Bible Society has as their mission to rightly divide the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation. II Timothy 2:15, Ephesians I:13-14. They have some great information on their website.

Peter writes to those Jews scattered throughout after Stephen was stoned to death. The stoning of Stephen was proof that the Jews had rejected the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The 12 stayed in Jerusalem because they awaited the return of Christ. Zechariah 14:4.
II Peter 2:15-16 Peter refers to Paul writing to the Jews (Peter is referring to the book of Hebrews) and tells them it is even hard for himself to understand the gospel of the grace of God which was given to Paul.
So you are not alone in your questioning. It was hard for Peter to understand that God would give the gospel of the grace of God to Gentiles because everything proceeding that God had only dealt with the Jews.
If you remember, Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry said that He had only come unto the Jews.
But thank God that we have been given the gospel of the grace of God.
All denominations combine the gospels. All of these false gospels have a mixture of works and grace. Some have more grace than others. However, they all want to preach that Christ came to earth to go to the cross.
No, Christ came to earth to give the Jews an earthly kingdom. God knew that the Jews would reject Christ. The gospel of the grace of God was hidden within God. Paul calls the church which is the body of Christ a mystery, meaning that it was a secret kept hidden within God.
Paul preached mystery. The 13 preached prophecy.

We all know (cough, cough) that a preacher could preach the most powerful Gospel message ever preached, where a man could hear and receive it, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, know he is a sinner and repent, confess Jesus as Lord of all, and have enough faith to tell a mountain to move yonder and it would move. But not only would all that be useless, the blood of Jesus would be made of no effect until that person had another sinful man dunk him in water. Now, if that didn’t make baptism important, I don’t know what does.

Yes, they constantly preach a false gospel. Actually, they preach the gospel of the kingdom which was only for Israel.
Jesus Christ tells us that the gospel that He preached is only for the Jews, but the CoC does not even believe the Son of God.
The gospel of the CoC is hear, believe, repent, confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, be water baptized and live faithfully till the end of your life. That is the gospel of the kingdom for Israel.
The CoC does not ask you to believe in the gospel of the grace of God which is the gospel of the death burial and resurrection. I Corinthians 15:1-4.

      Mark 16:16
      How clear can Jesus be?

@@Real_Josh_King oohh he's clear alright. The problem with the CoC is they read one verse and don't read the rest of the SENTENCE. There's no reason to believe that water baptism is even being talked about in verse 16 since verses 17&18 that are connected to it with "AND" talk about gifts given in Spirit baptism, to those who believe. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to talk about water baptism (without mentioning WATER) in 16 and switch to gifts given in Spirit baptism in a part of the same sentence in the connected verses.
Mrk 16:16 He that BELIEVETH and is baptizedy shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
      Mrk 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE; In my name shall they CAST OUT DEVILS; they SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES;
Mrk 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall LAY HANDS ON THE SICK, AND THEY SHALL RECOVER.
Y'all are fixated on WATER BAPTISM and in a few years you'll have Jesus turning baptism into wine and Jesus walking on baptism.

You are the blind leading the blind.
Matthew 28:19 is the parallel text to Mark 16:16. Jesus there commands his disciples to baptist people.
You cannot spiritually baptize someone, you can only baptize them in water.
How do you fulfill the command here?

    • @dwbid42

@@Real_Josh_King YOU are correct we cannot spiritually baptize them but Jesus sure can. That's why we have these BUT verses. They show what was the important (one) baptism and it didn't involve water.
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: BUT he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Mark 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: BUT he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; BUT one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Joh 1:33 And I knew him not: BUT he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is He WHICH BAPTIZETH WITH THE HOLY GHOST.
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; BUT ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; BUT ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
You see a man can say he believes, repents, confesses Jesus as Lord, puts his faith in Jesus and get dunked in water two or three times and still be be lost. Sinful man when he baptizes someone has no idea of what's in that person's heart, however when Jesus himself does the baptizing he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt the true condition of the person being baptized.
You say they are parallel texts. In Matthew they went into Galilee where Jesus had appointed then to meet and they WORSHIPPED him. In Mark the disciples sat at meat and Jesus UPBRAIDED THEM for their unbelief. In Matthew he's telling them to go make disciples and in Mark he's telling them who shall be saved and that BELIEVERS (saved people) will receive the Holy spirit. Only a CoC member can read a sentence in the NT and see baptism in the first part and see gifts received in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and believe Jesus would be talking about two different baptisms. Y'all are so fixated on WATER that when you see baptism you add water and when you see water (John 3:5) you add baptism.
Here's some verses I found in the CoC NT.
CoC 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and baptism.
CoC 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the baptism that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the baptism knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
CoC 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the baptism.
      ----
Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, INTO A MOUNTAIN WHERE JESUS HAD APPOINTED THEM.
Mat 28:17 AND WHEN THEY SAW HIM, THEY WORSHIPPED HIM: BUT SOME DOUBTED.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mrk 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven AS THEY SAT AT MEAT, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED NOT THEM WHICH HAD SEEN HIM AFTER HE WAS RISEN.
Mrk 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mrk 16:16 He that BELIEVETH and is baptizedy shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
      Mrk 16:17 And these SIGNS shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they CAST OUT DEVILS; THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES;
Mrk 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall LAY HANDS ON THE SICK, AND THEY SHALL RECOVER.
Mrk 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Mrk 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
