    Hey Tim, it's been a pleasure having you on the El Rincón del Mastering channel. You sing beautifully and I would be delighted to collaborate with you on future projects, both for the channel and for new productions. ❤

    i just bought the 440... already owned the nt1. i did an AB comparrison. If you have a lower voice (like myself), the nt1 is muddy in the lows and the 440 sounded more natural, flat response, and just sounded more like "me". I think I'm going to sell my nt1 and pick up another 440.

    440 render greatly your voice, it brings it upfront on top of the guitar like kind of effortlessly. Very pleasant sound. NT1 is a cent muddier but sound nice too. Choosing 440 here.

    Yeah, they are very similar! I thought the 400 pure made the guitar sound more smooth in the higher frequencies.

    Judging by the last clips, i thought vocals feel better on the NT1-A, while guitar sounded better on the 440 Pure. They have the exact same lows, but the NT1-A makes the highs stand out a bit more and this helps bringing balance between lower and higher frequencies in the voice, while the 440 Pure feels more... pure. But that feels better for the guitar and probably other instruments which are naturally more balanced.
    Loved the video and your vibes!

    As someone who owns both, I would say that the nt1 is gonna be better for covering all genres while the 440 is more specialized and can be better in certain scenarios. I would reccomend the nt1 for the jack of all trades factor if you can only have 1. Also you're insanely talented Tim. Great video

      The lewitt excels in making newer sounding songs with its more digital texture while the nt1's warmer tube-esque timbre will appeal more to purists and be better at emulating a more vintage sound.

    I just wanted to purchase my 6th microphone to solve some nasty resonances I get in my recordings just to find out that it is actually my voice, not the microphone. Actually it is the position of my voice that I always change depending on which vowel is active at the moment.
    Is there any chance to send you some examples so you can hear it and give some advice?

    Which mic is better for modern pop vocals? 440 or nt1a? (Male pop vocals)

    • @TimMoxeyMusic
      @TimMoxeyMusic  Год назад +4

      You could really do well with either of these mics, but if I had to choose I'd go with the 440. That's just my 2 cents.

    You say it like NT1 and NT1a are the same microphone which is misleading. NT1a is a budget frendly, less neutral version of the NT1. Also I tell you a secret: in a home studio enviroment you won't hear a difference. Btw. I'm not subscribed and never will be. Good bye.

    • @TimMoxeyMusic
      @TimMoxeyMusic  Год назад

      You are correct they aren't the same mic, however, they are both edge-terminated designs with transformerless circuitry which is going to make them sound very similar. There is no denying they are different but they are pretty close.

      @byniasofficial2567 Год назад

      @@TimMoxeyMusic I bought a brand new kit of the NT1a the other day and sent it back immediately. It was incredibly light and had damage from the factory. Moreover the rubber sleeve that contains the capsule was also badly manufactured wich caused it to be at an angle so that the mic had to be at around 30° angle to capture my voice correctly and during light tapping test the back of the capsule was hitting inside of the protective grill. My opinion is to pay $100 more to get the NT1 or just get a different microphone if somebody's on the budget.

    • @TimMoxeyMusic
      @TimMoxeyMusic  Год назад

      @@byniasofficial2567 I’m sorry you had a bad experience with the NT1a. It’s not my got to mic when people ask for a suggestion of a good home studio mic. I actually suggest the Roswell pro audio stuff because I have been impressed with the sound, quality and designs. I do these cheaper mic comparisons to help people make choices on stuff they may not be able to try before they buy. In my own recordings my go to is my u87ai.

    • @byniasofficial2567
      @byniasofficial2567 Год назад

      @@TimMoxeyMusic I'm not trying to complain. But maybe someone less experienced who looks f9r.a budget microphone will make use of that knowledge. If I didn't know what to check upon buying I'd be clueless that I have a badly manufactured microphone. Btw. If you're interested, I have both side photos of my friends good nt1a and the one I bought .

      @@byniasofficial2567 thats a great point. I think I’d go with the Lewitt personally anyway. I know it’s vain but I just like the look of it more. 😃
