I always enjoy your vidoes, Orla, but this one was extra terrific. I love your art style and watching your process and hearing your thoughts on developing an idea. I am also so impressed that you can film yourself as while you are in the midst of creative brainstorming! Its quite the feat! And your finished.product is fantastic. Look forward to your next vid!
Thank you so much! I find making these super helpful for understanding where I'm going with the work :) 📸 ☀️
I am so loving these 'hiking' and sporty figures, amazing how a drag or blob of paint, ink or crayon can look so detailed. Haven't been able to watch your videos for a while, when I do I am always excited by your exploration and freedom, and not making your work rigid or stiff. Thank you for sharing your stories Orla, love the picture resulting from sleeping on the frozen bog.
I envy your ability to create such magnificent art while kneeling on the floor!!!
If I tried that I'd never be able to get back up.... much less do any creating....🤣.
Love your style and you are delightful....just subscribed.....thankyou for this video.
One of my favourite videos of yours! Love seeing the process of how you take already painted surfaces and transform them into something really expressive and atmospheric.
I think this one is my favorite as well! And I love hand made concertina sketchbooks. I love the idea of using it to tell a story.
Aw thank you so much! That’s great to hear, this one felt very natural to make 🩵
Thank you! It’s such a fun process and definitely feeling very inspired by making them 💫
LOVE CONCERTINAS!
YESSSSSS!!! me too haha
Hi👋🏻 I’m an artist as well! I just found your channel recently, I wanted to let you know how much your work has inspired me. Love how free and playfully you create.
Hey Holly! Thank you so much, that's lovely to hear! 💙 I hope your creative work is going well :)
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS VIDEO!!!❤
woohooooo!!! thank you! ☺️
Love your joyful commitment to experimentation, Orla!
Thank you Clare! Can't ever get enough of it :)
Thanks for inspiring idea of words from the nature. That was super useful idea for my art 🥰
Loved the concertina music at the end. Good craic
haha couldn't resist!!
Hi Orla, thanks for sharing the early stages of a new idea! So nice to see your gentle and curious approach.
Thanks so much! Very excited to see what comes out of this, feeling like it's heading in a fun direction :)
Your work is so incredibly beautiful!
Thank you so much! ☀️
Loved this Orla and I just want to thank you for sharing your awesome vids here ❤
Oh thank you so much! I love getting to make them and share so I'm glad they are enjoyed too!
This is lovely and thank you, you’ve given me lots of ideas
thanks so much Lynne! Excited to see more of your concertinas :)
LOVE your work!!! Your use of colours, textures, mark making and different materials….SO YUMMY! 😍 Really loved your working over previous work 🤩 Love the contrast between yummy colours and the darks…SO DYNAMIC….really excites my eyes and feelings. LOVE the way you draw your figures but don’t enjoy them in the landscapes so much. I think your landscapes say enough on their own ( SO GORGEOUS) and the figures seem to over complicate them. However I did like the first one you did….thought that worked really well. You are such an inspiration 🙏 Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
Hello Orla, thank you very much❤ I adore your video. Your work is very inspiring.
Hello, and thank you so much! 😊
What a delight you are. That's all. 🙂
💙
Hey Orla. As always, such a privilege to see your work, hear your thoughts. I can't believe that you ended up camping where you did in lockdown! Wow! I can't imagine how cold you two were!
The photos you took of the beautiful snow blanketed landscape are breathtaking.
Thank you for sharing x Nell.
Hello hello! Thanks so much for tuning in - and it was amazing, hoping we get good snow this year too! haha annoyingly it's just me getting cold, my partner is like a radiator even in minus temps! ❄️
Beautiful ArtWork 😊😊

Why did you put closed captions/ a transcription of your voice in this video? Sorry but it’s distracting and those who prefer can just put on the CC in RUclips themselves 😉
I do not see closed captions. You can turn it on or off, on the video. You may want to turn it off😊
thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it! :)
I added the embedded text as I've been watching lots of youtube videos where video makers had included this, and I as a viewer I really enjoyed the addition. Plus, just fun to experiment with how I create videos - but I can totally see your point and will keep it in mind for my next videos 💫
I really didn’t mean to be harsh but just wanted to say that I enjoy seeing the art and not more “moving / scribbling words” on top of the already moving video. I understand that some people turn the sound down and the CC on but please let that be to each their own choice… it will also save you a lot of extra work. Love your work & the videos ♥️!
I was trying to work out how to turn them off too, but I don’t think you can.
I think it is very inclusive and if the creator chooses to, they should!
