The fear is actually Anakin's, which is why Sidious says this: "Fool!" His voice was a shout of thunder. "Do you think the fear you feel is mine?"

#10 bugged me the most. You left out Obi-Wan on his own against Maul and Savage after Gallia was killed? That was one of Obi-Wan’s best moments from the whole show! He pulled out all the stops dual-wielding lightsabers and won! Also, that “you are mistaken” line at the beginning is just so awesome.
Revenge Of The Sith is the only Star Wars episode I've seen to have multiple lightsaber duels scattered throughout. It's also the only episode to have an exclamation mark in the opening crawl.
Yes it should. And had season 7 of the Clone Wars had never happened, the should have adapted the second part of the cartoon Clone Wars to animation to connect it to Revenge of the Sith.
The way I see it, everything up to and including Anakin showing Padme his scar is canon, then from there you would watch 2008 Clone Wars. Clone Wars showed Anakin becoming a Jedi Knight. It had the first acknowledgment of Anakin's scar. It showed how Anakin got R2-D2. It showed how C3PO went from silver to gold. It showed the introduction of Grievous. It showed the introduction of Asajj Ventress. The show fills in so many holes that 2008 Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith just don't cover that I think the first 21 and a bit episodes just have to be considered canon.
Maul vs Obi round 2 will always be my favorite. People say it was underwelming, but it was perfect. Kenobi baited Maul with Qui Gons stance, and cut threw his lightsaber before he could hit him in the head with it like he did to Qui Gon.
Twilight of The Apprentice will always be my favourite moment in all Star Wars. There’s just so much emotion & years of buildup towards that confrontation & it effected me in a way nothing else had before.
Not having Obi Wan and Darth Maul from Rebels is a glaring omission. What it lacks in runtime it makes up for in emotional weight and small details. Truly underappreciated.
I’m so happy the Ahsoka vs Darth Maul duel made the top 5 list. It’s my all time favorite battle in The Clone Wars. Heck, it’s my all time favorite battle in the ENTIRE FRANCHISE!!! EVERYTHING she said about that battle at 18:35 is 100% true!

If Kenobi vs Anakin is #1 on this list, then the rematch takes the top spot. The choreography is fantastic, the cinematography is captivating, the dialog is heart wrenching and the sheer emotional scope is unparalleled.
I totally agree with the list, I love how you don't only talk about choreography but also sentimental value and nostalgia. Ahsoka Vs Darth Maul is by far the best animated Lightaber fight ever created, as well as the whole final arc of the Clone Wars: Siege of Mandalore. I love Star Wars so much...
Even if you dislike the choreography for TROS’s last duel, the setting IMO helps to make up for it. Watching them duke it out on the Second Death Star’s wreckage with those crashing waves is one of my favorite moments from the sequel films. Plus, there’s some serious poetry their tying into Revenge’s Mustafar duel; in that fight, they’re on a fire planet with the Skywalker on the offensive. On Endor, their surrounded by water, and the Skywalker (Kylo) is defending himself.
Qui-gon and Obi-wan vs Maul was awesome. The choreography alone was captivating, but it kept us on our toes. But my favourite was also No.1. The greatest light saber duel in history.
I personally think the fight between Yoda and Palpatine should have been higher up, they both and great dialogue in that scene and was incredibly cool to see Yoda doing flips and jumps of the Chancellors stand as they arise into the Senate. I thought it was so captivating seeing Palpatine throw Senate Stands at Yoda and seeing their joint strength in the force. I just feel it deserved a higher ranking than 7. Just my personal opinion.
13:52, seeing that in theaters as a kid, I damn near ran out of the theater on account of how unfair and yet badass it was to see Obi Wan take on Grievous with 4 lightsabers.
I get number 1, but the Sidious vs Maul and Savage fight should have been number 2. The fact that the two sith lords who have been terrorizing the galaxy and have taken over an entire planet are beaten so easily by Sidious that the only two times he shows any weakness at all (the one time he seems a little winded and the time Maul actually lands a kick) he stops toying with them for a moment and just ends the fight, first by knocking out Maul and killing Savage and then by beating Maul. As for whether or not I can like this video given that this fight wasn't higher on the list? "There IS no mercy." -Sidious to Maul

Anakin vs Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith had to be the top one. That was the most emotional duel and also I think the longest in the saga. Now I think Obi-Wan vs Vader in the finale of Kenobi is a close second to this duel

The best part about Luke vs Vader is the way Palpitine sits on his throne and tries to manipulate Luke the way he did Anakin. Also when Vader says "Obi-Wan taught you well" after Luke kicks him down the stairs to gain the highground was amazing. Even if it wasn't 20 years of foreshadowing for the prequels, it's still amazing they remembered all that and put it in the prequel movies.
Lightsaber battles in... Original trilogy: old men trying to relive the glory days. Prequel trilogy: dancing with swords. Sequel trilogy: drunkards in a carousel.

I believe the fight that Anakin and Obi-Wan has vs Count Dooku in season 6 is awesome; he reveals his alias Tyrannus etc. It’s good and it really shows Dooku’s skill as a fighter.
I know it got HM, but I feel like Anakin vs Bariss should’ve been top 20. Anakin showing his expertise against Bariss is one of the most dominating scenes in TCW. And the ending, where Anakin is force choking her, shows how much closer he has come to eliminating the soft ways of the Jedi.

I understand that everyone likes to throw jokes around about the "I have the high ground" quote but there is actual significance to it. Soresu is the form Obi Wan was known for. It was a powerful defensive form of lightsaber combat that Obi Wan was known as an unparalleled master of. There is a stance that involves having higher ground than your opponent that makes your defense unbreakable and being the best at that style both Obi Wan and Anakin knew that. Obi Wan was trying to point it out to get Anakin to give up and back down hoping he could see that he wouldn't win in that situation so he wouldn't have to hurt his apprentice.
Yeah. The fact that Obi-Wan is specialized in that form of combat is why he was chosen to combat General Grievous, because it was the only form that sufficiently countered Grievous' lightning fast attacks and sheer brute strength. (At least, in Legends this is true).
It's also because his "Don't try it" line wasn't just "don't challenge my position", but it was also a "don't try the exact same move I used on Maul back in the day because I know how to counter it."
the stance you are referring to is called sokan. Luke also attempted to use it later against vader during on the second death star but vader uses a lightsaber throw to counter it
Honestly, for me, anything with the Darksaber is at the top, followed closely by anything with Count Dooku, when Dooku is actually played by Christopher Lee. Lee is a pleasure to watch in any role, really, the man was an absolute legend. His biography reads like an adventure novel.
Few thoughts... I don’t like Rey, especially how she can just come in and be the best and beat Kylo Ren without any training. It’s kind of dumb. I also don’t like mace windu vs palpatine just because the dual wasnt as cool as it could’ve been. Clone wars lightsaber battles are honestly the best, like palpatine vs darth maul and savage opress is SO SICK!!
I would’ve included Ahsoka vs. the inquisitors in rebels season 2. I love that fight especially how ahsoka just clowns both of them showing how much more powerful she’s gotten since clone wars.
I mean that was the first time we have seen Ashoka fight since the last clone wars episode. So she had gotten older and stronger. Also as if a seasoned clone war vet would have any trouble against inquisitors. Honestly Rex in his prime with a lightsaber might be able to beat an inquisitor lol

Way to put words in their mouth when they said nothing of the sort; they mentioned one prequel film, not all three. It's a fact many were dissatisfied with The Phantom Menace but Maul was seen as one of the few high points, if not the highest, and mentioning this in a video about lightsaber fights was perfectly acceptable. The sequel trilogy is not exempt from this as they literally address fan criticism for The Force Awakens where some didn't like how Rey beat Kylo. Tell me at what point would they have been given an opportunity to say that some fans weren't pleased with the sequel trilogy overall?

Darth maul fights are my favorite but Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader was the most rememberable.

Maul vs Obi round 2 will always be my favorite. People say it was underwelming, but it was perfect. Kenobi baited Maul with Qui Gons stance, and cut threw his lightsaber before he could hit him in the head with it like he did to Qui Gon.
While definitely not in my top 20, I respect the visuals and the symbolism behind that duel and can see why people love it

Even if you dislike the choreography for TROS’s last duel, the setting IMO helps to make up for it. Watching them duke it out on the Second Death Star’s wreckage with those crashing waves is one of my favorite moments from the sequel films. Plus, there’s some serious poetry their tying into Revenge’s Mustafar duel; in that fight, they’re on a fire planet with the Skywalker on the offensive. On Endor, their surrounded by water, and the Skywalker (Kylo) is defending himself.

I personally think the fight between Yoda and Palpatine should have been higher up, they both and great dialogue in that scene and was incredibly cool to see Yoda doing flips and jumps of the Chancellors stand as they arise into the Senate. I thought it was so captivating seeing Palpatine throw Senate Stands at Yoda and seeing their joint strength in the force. I just feel it deserved a higher ranking than 7. Just my personal opinion.

I get number 1, but the Sidious vs Maul and Savage fight should have been number 2. The fact that the two sith lords who have been terrorizing the galaxy and have taken over an entire planet are beaten so easily by Sidious that the only two times he shows any weakness at all (the one time he seems a little winded and the time Maul actually lands a kick) he stops toying with them for a moment and just ends the fight, first by knocking out Maul and killing Savage and then by beating Maul. As for whether or not I can like this video given that this fight wasn't higher on the list?

Anakin vs Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith had to be the top one. That was the most emotional duel and also I think the longest in the saga. Now I think Obi-Wan vs Vader in the finale of Kenobi is a close second to this duel

The high ground never disappoints me
The best part about Luke vs Vader is the way Palpitine sits on his throne and tries to manipulate Luke the way he did Anakin. Also when Vader says "Obi-Wan taught you well" after Luke kicks him down the stairs to gain the highground was amazing.
Even if it wasn't 20 years of foreshadowing for the prequels, it's still amazing they remembered all that and put it in the prequel movies.

I believe the fight that Anakin and Obi-Wan has vs Count Dooku in season 6 is awesome; he reveals his alias Tyrannus etc. It’s good and it really shows Dooku’s skill as a fighter.
I know it got HM, but I feel like Anakin vs Bariss should’ve been top 20. Anakin showing his expertise against Bariss is one of the most dominating scenes in TCW. And the ending, where Anakin is force choking her, shows how much closer he has come to eliminating the soft ways of the Jedi.

I understand that everyone likes to throw jokes around about the "I have the high ground" quote but there is actual significance to it. Soresu is the form Obi Wan was known for. It was a powerful defensive form of lightsaber combat that Obi Wan was known as an unparalleled master of. There is a stance that involves having higher ground than your opponent that makes your defense unbreakable and being the best at that style both Obi Wan and Anakin knew that. Obi Wan was trying to point it out to get Anakin to give up and back down hoping he could see that he wouldn't win in that situation so he wouldn't have to hurt his apprentice.
Yeah. The fact that Obi-Wan is specialized in that form of combat is why he was chosen to combat General Grievous, because it was the only form that sufficiently countered Grievous' lightning fast attacks and sheer brute strength. (At least, in Legends this is true).
It's also because his "Don't try it" line wasn't just "don't challenge my position", but it was also a "don't try the exact same move I used on Maul back in the day because I know how to counter it."

Honestly, for me, anything with the Darksaber is at the top, followed closely by anything with Count Dooku, when Dooku is actually played by Christopher Lee. Lee is a pleasure to watch in any role, really, the man was an absolute legend. His biography reads like an adventure novel.

I would’ve included Ahsoka vs. the inquisitors in rebels season 2. I love that fight especially how ahsoka just clowns both of them showing how much more powerful she’s gotten since clone wars.
I mean that was the first time we have seen Ashoka fight since the last clone wars episode. So she had gotten older and stronger. Also as if a seasoned clone war vet would have any trouble against inquisitors. Honestly Rex in his prime with a lightsaber might be able to beat an inquisitor lol

Way to put words in their mouth when they said nothing of the sort; they mentioned one prequel film, not all three. It's a fact many were dissatisfied with The Phantom Menace but Maul was seen as one of the few high points, if not the highest, and mentioning this in a video about lightsaber fights was perfectly acceptable. The sequel trilogy is not exempt from this as they literally address fan criticism for The Force Awakens where some didn't like how Rey beat Kylo. Tell me at what point would they have been given an opportunity to say that some fans weren't pleased with the sequel trilogy overall?
