Thats why he is the perfect jedi he even loved someone and didn't fall for the temptation like Anakin, hes always been my favorite character from the star wars mythos
Exactly. The Episode 3 novelization has a dialogue between Dooku and Sidious where the former wants to try and convince Kenobi to join him again, but Sidious assures him it's a waste of time, as he is corruption-proof, and nothing will ever convince him to abandon the Jedi Order.
1000%. I like Obi Wan bc he isn't super flashy and is always under estimated. Obi Wan Defeated Anakin and Darth Vader bc he was under estimated. Obi Wan Defeated General Grievous and Darth Maul bc he was under estimated. Obi Wan was responsible with guarding Luke for almost 20 years, that's true commitment.
Obi-Wan is easily one of the best Star Wars characters and after everything he went through and lost a lot of people he cared about, he never turned to the dark side
The force is strong in this one! To hear *Duel of The Fates* and Ewan Mcgregor comes back as Obi-Wan Kenobi gives me goosebumps. As a Star Wars fan, I’m lucky to grow up with the Prequel Trilogy.
@@animesempai0 Glad we are on the same page. Though I do get it that not many like the prequel trilogy that much, but I believe George Lucas did incredible job of layering things together from the fall of Anakin Skywalker to the corruption within the Republic. He took so much references in today's world to make both the trilogy and the Clones Wars a phenomenal. I wish George haven't sell out his property to Disney. The Sequel Trilogy is nothing but disaster.
Ewan McGregor was a phenomenal choice to play Kenobi. Not only one of the best characters in Star Wars but one of the best in cinema history. His speech to Anakin on Mustafar always chokes me up a bit. “You were my brother Anakin! I loved you…”
@@AlejandroDiaz-oj9we When I saw an interview with Ewan years ago, he mentioned his uncle Dennis Lawson did in fact play the character Wedge Antilles. I thought it was wicked cool. 😁 Did you see Wedge came back for The Rise of Skywalker?¿? I got a bit excited to see him again. 👍🏻🙂
I once had someone try and tell me Obi Wan is just an “average” Jedi. I laughed and remembered my plethora of Star Wars knowledge, cannon and legends. WHOO!!
I guess average would be true when it comes to Obi-Wan’s abilities to use the Force. He never was the most powerful there. But his skills with the lightsaber and his wisdom made up for that.
Killing Maul in Rebels is number 1 for me. Even after everything Maul took from him, Obi Wan still treated him with compassion in his final moments. A true Jedi. Can't wait for the series!!! ❤️
I felt like Obi Wan facing Maul in Rebels as the final chapter of Obi Wan stories. The 3 final strikes were just perfect encapsulation of Obi Wan's growth and portrayal of Maul's stagnation in the past. Anything after that in Episode IV was the passing of baton to Luke Skywalker and start of Luke journey, no longer a part of Obi Wan chapter.
Obi Wan had always most defensive fightin style, tried kill no one. But when Maul relized he protect someone and it a big deal, he did not give a fuck and kill him in two seconds
@@Je1imanek The progression of Obi Wan reaction was perfect. He only turned on the lightsaber when Maul deduced his purpose, but he used defensive pose. And he changed pose only after Maul turned on the second blade, baiting him on to use the same move against Qui Gon. Obi Wan must have replayed that encounter over and over in his mind and know the perfect counter to his attack. If Maul uses single blade instead, Obi Wan would have stayed on the defensive.
As good as Obi Wan has been in live action, I do think a lot of his top moments have come from animation. Being disguised as Rako Hardeen to infiltrate the bounty hunters, duelling both Maul and Opress at the same time, helping to topple the Zygerian slavers amongst others.
I like what he did in season one episode three or four against Grevious and all the those battle droids including droidacas most jedi would have surrendered in his position.
For me it's his confrontation with Maul in Rebels. There we see Obi-Wan at his wisest and most skilled. The fight is also one of my favorites in Star Wars because of it's samurai nature.
I absolutely love how Obi Wan uses nothing but defense against Darth Maul till his first time attacking to end it all. It really shows how much commitment he has to protected Luke and grow as a Jedi Master.
The man almost not chosen to be a padawan, done everything for the Jedi Order, avenged his master and accepted his last wish, mastered a lightsaber fighting form, lost everything he loved, and still uphold his duties and never turned to the dark side. Obi-Wan IS the definition of a Jedi. Can't wait for the series.
The high ground scene, while a funny meme, is also really heart wrenching, as someone who grew up on the prequels and the clone wars, that scene is the biggest star wars tear jerker for me
Maul spending his whole life hunting Kenobi again, only to be beaten by him in 0.5 seconds. *Maul:* "It was longer than that!" Unfortunately for you, history will not see it that way.
When you see how easy it was for Jango to kill other Jedi it makes what Obi-Wan diid even more impressive. It was also incredibly bold of Obi-Wan to reveal himself as a Jedi in that Cantina it shows he was fully committed to coming out of hiding and bringing an end to the Empire. I think the Obi-Wan kept his cool after what Darth Maul did is what makes it most impressive. When you see how even other Jedi react when their friends are killed or injured it makes the fact that Obi-Wan didn't give into rage and hate to try to get revenge on the monster that not only killed his true love but also his former master is truly rare. What Obi-Wan did in that scene with Luke is really what started star wars outside of maybe Darth Vader I love how even from the beginning everything was built around Anakin and Obi-Wan. In my opinion they're the 2 most important star wars characters. The fact that killing the greatest general in the Sepratist army is only number 6 shows how great Obi-Wan truly is. Obi-Wan kind of embodies what the jedi were supposed to be this scene kind of reminds me of the one where Jar-Jar rescues him and Anakin from Hondo but after being held captive but when they leave they end up leaving on good terms and actually become allies. He seems to have learned from what happened with Anakin that hiding the truth and keeping secrets won't make for a stronger jedi.. I'm not sure how many jedi were allowed to skip the trials because of an act in battle but I'm sute it's a short list. I'm also not sure how many padawans were able to kill a sith Lord but I'm sure the list is even shorter I mean not even the chose one could defeat Dooku with the help of his master. Obi-Wan becoming a force ghost was a great scene and it was kind of like getting the last laugh against his former apprentice. It must be interesting what conversations between Obi-wan and Anakin were like after Return of the Jedi. It's like you know I beat you 2 out of three times (hopefully 4 out of 5 post Obi-Wan episode six but we'll see). Being so devoted to the jedi and doing the right thing that he would be willing to stay on the most miserable planet in the galaxy with no friends or way to contact them for almost twenty years is pretty crazy. Obi-Wan is the greatest and most important jedi ever!
my favorite Obi-Wan moment has to be him versus Darth Maul and savage in the clone wars series. I’m excited for this new series to see how Obi-Wan and the Jedi managed after the republic was taken over by the sith.
There's a lot of great moments from The Clone Wars that sadly didn't make it on this list, not even honorable mentions. -Teaming up with Asajj Ventress against Maul and Savage Opress. -Him, Adi Gallia and the Pirates fighting Maul and Savage Opress. -Pretending to be beaten up by that Zygerian slaver to distract him. -Facing Pre Vizsla who was using the Darksaber. -The message he sent to other Jedi to stay away from the Temple during Order 66 as seen in Rebels.
Obi Wan was the last true jedi ,and excellent example of how to Handel the loss. Doesn’t matter how hard the life will hit you must stand up and move on becaus even in the darkest time ther is a light of hope. This is the lesson everyone can take from the old Ben.

It’s heat breaking when obi wan calls him Anakin at the end of the fight even tho he knows damn well that’s not Anakin anymore but darth vader, but refuses to call him darth vader
What I’m trying to convey here could very well be lost in translation however the “mysticism” of the Jedi to which you have given reference to delivered by the one and only Sir Alec McGinnis (RIP) who gave audiences chills for decades, is In my opinion quintessential to the whole nine Star Wars 🍿movies. Naturally not to be forget about Ewan McGregors who is also a great actor and in Star Wars captures humour which would otherwise have been totally left on the editing floor. Ewan goes on to give partiality faultless performance, now himself giving every nineties child goosebumps in his reprisal of Obi-Wan. What Sir Alec shared however with an otherwise completely unknowing audience to this (Jedi power) “Mumbo Jumbo” as Alec referral of his script. Was in fact the saving of the movie where his lines became the most iconic in the whole script. I refer to now as “the corner stone of Star Wars, as they make the most hardcore Star Wars fans tremble. Without Sir Alec It would have just been a movie like any other. True 🤔
Obi-Wan Kenobi at his best. That was Anakin's mistake, He put Obi-Wan on the Defense and that's Obi-Wan's field of unbeatable expertise. It was the most powerful moment of all time before and after events don't compare and never will.
There's a moment in S5 (I think, it happens during the arc with the Younglings) of the Clone Wars where he watches Grievous brutally murder one of his clone troopers, and he loses his cool for a second and actually gets angry at the droid general. And then there's Landing at Point Rain, where the injured Kenobi resolves himself to fight to the end with his surrounded troopers just before help arrives. Both great Clone Wars moments.
I’ll admit to hoping that his sacrifice in A New Hope would be #1 and his fight with Anakin would be #2. “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for” should’ve been #3. My opinion.
Being 49 and remembering ( just about) A New Hope and then seeing Empire and ROTJ at the cinema, the ignition and hum of a lightsabre still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Thankyou uncle George.
When you realize Obi-Wan had the ability to kill Maul long before Rebles, but chose not to everytime until Luke became endangered 🤔🤔 perhaps he wanted Maul to some day be better. Minus a few body severing wounds😅
I can't wait to see kenobi, especially since darth vader will be in it, the confrontation between obi one and vader if it happens in season 1 is going to be epic, I love how disney has brought and bringing out all these shows like (the mandalorian, the book of bobo fett kenobi to continue to star wars story 😁😁 the lightsaber battle between vader and obi one in a new hope looked slow but there's a remastered version of the fight scene, even tho i seen that scene 100s of times, the remastered version is epic to watch
The final duel with Maul should at least be in the top two. Not only is it a crucial moment in boths life but also perfectly executed. The fight is short but holds so much meaning, callbacks and precise.
For me the picture perfect image of what a Jedi knight should strive to be is Obi Wan Kenobi. Understand your weaknesses and use them as your strengths. Many more powerful Jedi fell because they underestimated their enemies. Obi Wan wasn't as powerful with the force, but he was disciplined enough to trust it to guide him through everything. He had his love interest, but unlike Anakin was willing to leave the Jedi order had Satine asked. He respected the order unlike Anakin.
Anakin wasn’t fully Darth Vader till his eyes turned sith eyes after the duel was finished and Kenobi crippled him. Kenobi could’ve saved Anakin, especially when they’re on the droids over the lava before the high ground scene where Kenobi cuts down Anakin, and the two start a dialogue with each other. If Kenobi was more of the father figure that Anakin needed at that moment as opposed to a frustrated, and angered, brother he was at that moment then Anakin could’ve been pulled back to the light.
For me, killing Maul is the best Obi Wan moment, and perheps the best star wars moment ever. It's so emotional, and their long relationship is finally ending, in sooo beuatiful way
And with that line in Episode 3 in I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND made the line in Return Of The Jedi where Vader told Luke I SEE OBI-WAN HAS TRAINED YOU WELL when Luke was on the top of the stairs a little retrospectively funny lol
I’ve been a Star Wars fan for almost as long as I can remember & 1 thing Ik 4 a fact is that Obi-wan Kenobi is hands down 1 of the greatest Jedi in the franchise, along with being 1 of my top 3 favorite characters throughout the franchise as well. 💯💯💯

As a kid growing up watching Star Wars, Obi-Wan was the first character I was introduced to. I was born in ‘93 so Episode 1 was my first Star Wars movie and Obi-Wan was the most chill but coolest character I had ever seen in a movie, and he had the dopest name.
When Luke asked about the force, all I can hear now is “the floors?”
Thanks BLR
The final duel with Maul should at least be in the top two. Not only is it a crucial moment in boths life but also perfectly executed. The fight is short but holds so much meaning, callbacks and precise.
This is the video i have been looking for i Will leave a comment
Lol you guys were quick with This upload, must have had this saved for when the trailer came out 😂
“Hello there.”
I donʼt know why that “Hello there.” still sounds so nice, but itʼs good.
Obi wan is the goat hands down.
And Ewan is the best thing from star wars since the prequels.
I have just seen Obi-Wan and Maul's final duel 8 times(7 reaction videos before this one) and I have cried each time. That is definitely my #1 moment.
You were the Chosen One!
Every obiwan moment is the best
Why does everyone say he dueled with Anakin? By the time of the fight on Mustifar. Anakin was now Darth Vader. He just didn't have the mask yet.
It's so emotional, and their long relationship is finally ending, in sooo beuatiful way
Man, Obi-Wan is the only character to tie Prime Anakin and Han as my #1 in Star Wars.
The fight with Quai-Gon was epic
Obi wan (Ewan Mcgregor) vs Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) rematch is what I am most excited about!
"Train the boy, he will bring balance to the force"!!!!
Now I want to see a top 10 Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader moments.
That little smile he has when he sees the twins together for the first time in 19 years.❤

As a kid growing up watching Star Wars, Obi-Wan was the first character I was introduced to. I was born in ‘93 so Episode 1 was my first Star Wars movie and Obi-Wan was the most chill but coolest character I had ever seen in a movie, and he had the dopest name. The only Jedi with a name almost as cool is Ki-Adi-Mundi.
y'all really hitting us with this *right* after the Kenobi trailer hit
"This is the video I'm looking for." "I want to leave a comment below."
Literally the best moment is when Obi-Wan says: 0:05
Poor guy suffered a tremendous amount of hardship and still kept his head up. I can barely handle get rejected when I ask a girl out 😅
Your Jedi mind tricks don’t work on me lol 😂 too strong of a mind I have
The only one i need of star wars series always be about those colorful light saber duel! 🗡
"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
This is the video I was looking for, I have left a comment.
Where I feel #8 should have been higher , especially for what it means to the events to the Star Wars universe as a whole, this is a very good list.
“You were my brother Anakin, I loved you”
Recently Obi-Wan Kenobi has become one of my favourite Star Wars characters! I cannot wait to watch his show on Disney+! In my opinion he’s one of the best written Star Wars characters!!!
I gotta say the fight against Maul and Savage was one of his best.. He went into best mode
The Death Sticks scene should have gotten an honorable mention. Obi-Wan always says no to drugs.
The Chosen One line remains a powerful cultural meme for a long time.
