Not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best covers I've had the pleasure of listening ever. Took me halfway through the song to recognize it was a cover because it's so different and unique from the original (and I actually like it more)

Just to be fair, Laura Branigan's "Gloria" (1982) was the US cover of the song by the Italian singer Umberto Tozzi, published with acclaim in 1979.

Growing up on Dalmatian coast we were heavily influenced by Italian music. I remember listening to the Umberto's original on the vinyl. Italians have produced TONS of great melodies. Now in internet Era they are all coming to surface. This cover is definitely better than Laura's, maybe even better than Umberto. FYI It's not the first time Laura covered Italian artist. She also covered RAFs Self control.

Angel pulled it off with no doubt, the musical composition matched with her voice is rather fitting. I honestly can't wait to hear the rest of the album. She nailed this one.

A completely different song by the same name is Gloria by the Cadillacs (1954). It is a better listen than this agonizing rendition. Even the pretentious 80's anthem by U2 is more interesting than this drivel. Of course the only Gloria truly worthy of the name is the Gloria by Them.
