Thanks for the video. I visited Costa Rica for 14 days and visited so many cities. Jacó, in my opinion, was the worst. I found it seedy, dumpy, dirty. The beaches at times had too many people. Trash and dogshit in many parts of the beach. I did, however, enjoy some of the waves and was able to get some bodyboarding in. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. Thanks for your video though.
Yes agreed which is why I mentioned it's a poor representation of Costa Rica, but some people want vacations in places like Jaco. Leaves more space for people like us to enjoy the better parts!
100% agreed! Jacò has a terrible reputation and there are many reasons for that, that are very easy to see. A VERY poor representation of Costa Rica! 🤮
I was in CR in Feb for a week. We stayed in Bejuco, and went to Jaco a couple of times (during the day), and felt the same... it's not great. The beach was the worst one we saw in our adventures. There was a decent coffee shop that had good iced coffees. And the Maxi Pali was pretty good, but the one in Parrita was just as good. When I go back, I'd be fine with skipping Jaco, just a little too commercialized.
Stayed right on the beach at Hotel Jaco. Great hotel, staff, view from my room of the ocean, right on the beach. 2 nights in Jaco was not my thing, but as you said if you’re looking for the party vibe and all that, Cancún type feel, tropical weather, night action, short stay vacation stuff to get away from the cold, have at it. One of those stays if you plan to do that, you’ll need the money 🤑, and a vacation from your vacation when you leave. I walked that strip a couple of times and it is not Uvita, Samara, Dominical, or most other places I’ve visited in CR. that’s for sure. Not much tranquilo there. You missed the Casio that’s also right on the strip, now that’s something I really want to do, is to see the wild natural splendour of the caverns of a casino while I’m on vacation in CR.
I recently went to Chepos (Im originally from Honduras) and OH GOD was it amazing. Of course there are a lot of similarities geographically to Honduras but man Costa Rica culture is on another level #puravida They really do have their tourism on point.
Love watching your videos. It's great to have some information on the places you would like to visit. A little off topic but do you have any recommendations for private shuttle services. We will arrive in liberia and would like to start in la fortuna and then work our way from tamarindo to montazuma. Thanks James
We stayed in Jaco in a beautiful condo right on the beach, but when it got dark, we had quite the show out on the public walkway between our condo and the beach! We walked around town a bit, but had to wonder why do all the shops sell wooden phallic, is it because of prostitution there? Seriously I was glad I didn't have any kids with me!
I like Jaco a lot. Been there many times over the years starting in 1990 and my last time 2020. There`s so many great restaurants and bars in Jaco with lots of shopping for souvenirs and gifts plus it has super markets and banks . It`s a great place to do tours to Manuel Antonio and many other places like volcanos and such. There`s a great mountain named Miro mountain at the south end of Jaco for a great hike to an abandoned place with a great view of Jaco. As far as prostitutes and drugs if your not interested in them it`s not a problem. You tell the prostitutes No SEXO they leave you alone. Jaco is near the Crocodile Bridge over the Tarcola River and you can do the Crocodile boat tour for close up views of crocodiles and see lots of birds. Another great place not to far from Jaco is Villa Calitas for a nice place to have a delicious dinner and watch the sunset.

We definitely want to visit Honduras at some point, glad you enjoyed I assuming you mean quepos! And Costa Rica in general!
@@TheDufresnes Yeah Quepos *** and then we went to Dominical which was very hip.
If you come to Honduras, def check out Roatan or Utila Bay Islands!
We definitely will!
Im Going to jaco this August for a week, is there still alot of excursions to go on? Iv signed up to atv and rafting tours, and others.
There are always excursions to go on in Costa Rica. Isla Tortuga is one you can do from Jaco, we made a video on is, going from Montezuma
Also why would you choose Jaco as the spot to go? It's not real Costa Rica
@@TheDufresnes yes I signed up to go to tortuga as well. mainly Because I'm a solo traveler so i like to stick to tourist areas.
Your place still looks the best to me! At my age, not big on the party scene lol…actually I don’t think I was at any age 😂😂
Yes ours is the best! Party scenes are not actually fun!

Where is the best area to stay if you want to be close to all the restaurants and bars?
Going in few weeks
What is the best place to stay in jaco ?
Nowhere! Jaco sucks! 👎🏼
@@TheDufresnes really 😢
Yup!
Is the rain bad in the month of June?
Not sure, weather always changes. We've done a video on weather, you can search for it on our channel
My son is inland about an hour and it’s been raining everyday at one point or another

Why would you walk in the street!? Jaco has excellent sidewalks.
Because it's easier to show both sides from the street
Jaco is not good for everyone only for some ppl
Love Jaco for many years going there highly recommend!
