I really want websites to stop saying you CAN’T grow cherimoya in a pot, and that you CAN’T grow them here or there. I love seeing channels like yours.
You can basically grow anything in pots
But you need to give fertilization and have good draining soil
That's it
Good to see this, I'm planning to do exactly this!
Thank you for sharing your video

Thanks for sharing this information. I have a small 1 year old seed grown cherimoya, I used to have older plants but they died. It's very slow growing. I notice mine does not require much watering and its root system in a small container has not expanded much either. Is this normal. Should I repot in April as we head into spring?. I'm in the UK and growing it indoors.
Did you have to prune or chop the tree down lower to promote lower branch growth for growing in a pot? Or did you just let it grow and do some pruning but nothing serious?
Where is the “N” in ATEMOYA?
Thank you!!!!!
Hi! Thank you for making this video; what size containers are you using and where did you get them? Is it best to use a rigid plastic container or the fabric kind? My mom gifted me a cherimoya seedling that’s about a foot tall and I want to make sure I can take it with me when/if I move. Please advise and TIA!
do you put any stones etc for drainage in the bottom of the pot ? I'm potting some up today. and do you mix any fertilizer at potting time or later ?
thanks

You said you prune the tree 2X in a year,. Middle of spring in March and mid August. Now is done all zone?
I wish youtube allows us to share pictures in comment section. My what I thought was Sugar Apple from seed is I think Cherimoya and now about 5 years old in container. It is about 6feet in height but maybe only 2 or less inches in diameter in the base. No fruits yet. I am thinking on pruning. It goes inside during Winter ( zone 5b, IL). I only fertilize with fish emulsion.
What zone are you in? Good work!

I wanted to see more details on how to allow seed to grow, versus branch. Unfortunately this was more about watering, and brushed over other topics.
Please is 30 gallons grow bag a good size for my chirimoya tree

i have an atemoya in a pot but it's not doing well. perhaps the soil is too wet or I need to feed it ? can you suggest anything I can do to salvage it ?
What variety r u growing? Some varietyies r more sensitive than other. Also this is the season for leaves to drop and new growth. Give the plant some fertilizer. Dig about 2 inches in the soil, 3-4 different places make sure the water soiled dirt properly. Water the plant regularly and consistently, for example I chose to water every Monday and Friday. I use Kellogg potting mix from Home Depot. It drain very well. I hope u tree get better!
@@GQsGarden great thanks
I'll fertilize today and water ...I do see new leaves now but when the old one shriveled up I got worried i.e like the roots were rotting from too much water
@@GQsGarden thanks
What is the red one
Hi. Could you tell us what kind is this ? I know not all Cherimoya do well in containers. Thanks
👋 The red fruit is Red Gefner/ Israel Red Atemoya. The green one is African Pride Atemoya. Container Atemoya/cherimoya you need to water, feed and trim regularly. Best wishes!
15-25 gallons is a good size. First 3 years in 15 gallons and transferred to 20-25 gallon

Do you sell seeds of different varieties?
Hi do you sell your grafted atemoya's or cherimoya
Is the red custard apple as hardy as the Atemoya ?
👋 The red Gefner is more sensitive to the cold then African Pride. If it’s grafted on a cherimoya rootstock it’s better. Good luck!
By any chances you sell any cutting? Thanks
My Atemoyas are also in 15gal containers but the fruits are tiny, about 1/4 lb. it’s a grafted tree. I haven’t been fertilizing them. Maybe that’s the reason for small fruit?
Give it some osmocote fertilizer 14.14.14. Make sure to water regularly. I water my pots 3x a week. I use Kellogg potting mix to its drain very well. I noticed pots with less watering, fruits r much smaller. Best wishes!
Some fruits r not ready to harvest til March/April so they r still small.
@@GQsGarden I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for the reply
What is Na sau rieng, is it sugar apple grafted on athemoya.
👋. I have not heard Na sau rieng before. However that sounds delicious 🤤. I have to find it now! Thanks 😊
@@GQsGarden It's in a Vietnamese video I have seen , it's a huge one weighing more than a kg, but looks like a variety of athemoya and sugar apple.the link isruclips.net/video/MU8m5YV-oi8/видео.html

Where are you? Are you selling those trees? Please let us know.Thks
Hi! No I am not selling. Thank!
What do you recommend for fertilizer and pest control
Hi, I use osmocote 14.14.14 every 3 month. I haven’t encounter any pest. Best wishes!
@@GQsGarden Thank you!
@@GQsGarden do you recommend any other things to mix with the soil you recommend or just that soil will be ok for it?
@@jadepika9717 No other mix. Make sure to give it fertiizer and water it. Best Wishes
@@GQsGarden thank you so much
Mãn cầu African pride mình mua cây giống ở đâu? Mình rất thích trồng mãn cầu, bạn có thể cho mình hột mãn cầu được không? Cám ơn nhiều!

Em ơi có cần nhiều nắng khong em?
My yard does not have enough sun.
@@mystiquexman 👋. My courtyard only have a few hours of sun in the summer, not at all in the fall and winter, however my AP Atemoya does very well. My honey heart cherimoya hardly gets any sun and the fruits are very sweet even with minimal shade. Atemoyas and cherimoyas are so easy to care for and doesn’t need much care. I don’t think it requires lots of sun. Best wishes!
I meant minimal sun. 😂

How big of a pot should you use
👋 I use 3-5 gallons for tree 1-3 year old and 15 gallons for older trees. Once the tree is 6+ years i transplant it in ground. I have seen nursery with larger trees in 25+ gallons but I haven’t try it. Best wishes!
@@GQsGarden ok thank you! If you cannot grow it in the ground due to climate can it do ok and produce fruit in a container for its full life?
4 years from seed? :/
Yes, from seeds it will fruit in 3-4 yrs. If u live in warmer weather, even sooner, 2-3 yrs.
