4:12 We have an older model. Had to replace the cup 5 times because of the cracks. Philips tols me that the NEW 2200 and 5500 machines have better quality plastic. However, NEVER put those parts in the dishwasher no matter what the manual says
I have the 4300. I always hand wash the milk carafe and other components. I’m happy with the features and output. Although, the coffee drinks could be hotter. There is more maintenance to these machines which seems to be the price for the conveniences of the one touch drinks. I may opt for a different machine next time if this isn’t improved.
I love this machine got it last week and at first i was like whaaat shit is too watery but learned that it needed to calibrate and find its way now 100 drinks laters it's working like a charm 🙂
@@fortunatedad7695 yes totally, must've been a lucky purchase at first. Ive been using dark roast lavazza beans and it's going awesome. Also i use fat milk for the cappuchinos.
i have been using 5400 series for over a year, and i found myself using only couple of drinks.. basically it feels all the same, i regret paying 5400 series extra money, should have bought the basic model.. for example; coffe crema, coffee, espresso lungo basically its all same.. caffe latte cappucino i mean theres not much difference if the machine puts the milk first or coffee 😃 just buy a model that has latte go, and has coffee, cafe latte option thats it
Hey Myles thanks for the video I have a question, I was wondering what are your recommended settings for 5:00 in the video where you change how strong the coffee is etc there are three bars next to each other as you showed, do you use the settings in the video for all the coffees you make or do you have different settings for each different coffee?
@@mylesoffgrid Thanks well we gotten used to it in the week we have been using now my only small complaint is that coffees with milk in them don't come out as hot as I would like them to be this is going to be a problem in winter since it'll get cold like in a couple minutes and we find the portions a bit small I wish the machine allowed us to make bigger portions like being able to fill a starbucks cup in a single go for instance but I have to repeat the coffee making process 2-3 times to fill a big cup that's a downside to me. Other than that makes really tasty and easy coffee!
@serhansaman What do you mean by filling a cup in a single go, on mine i can fill 400ml in a go, and for a To-Go cup there is an individual setting in the More Drinks Menu, for long trips thats an way of doing it, if you need something you can ask me, i own the Mashine since 2021 and yeah, pretty much know every corner of it
Just purchased one. Great machine but what does it mean when my pucks are wet and sloppy? I have is set at 4 for grinding, is this too fine? Only set at this as it was recommended on a video I found
@@asif9t9 while its brewing, it was 69 db according to apple watch, i was standing right in front of the machine. gonna text from next room next time 😃
I just ordered a EP5544/80 and that has iced drinks as well. Philips has a ton of different model numbers, but I don't know if they are different for different countries (I'm in Sweden) or if there are tiny differences in features.
I bought 4300, trying to replace my breville 870. I tried all setting, manitience but It will never get a good quality expresso in a rich body and complex flavours like sweetness and fruity taste like Breville or other semi-auto machine. 4300 could make coffee taste better than an instant coffee but far away from any cafe quality, I will say it is not a great extracting like the grinder setting is not fine enough even though it's already the finest in the machine. Grinder approx Philipss 1 = 6 in Breville. please let know If you guys can make great coffee even close to the semi- auto machine with fully auto machine, or just my 4300 having some problems, or which brand and series you are using thanks.
Most of this is the fact that you need to try more different beans. This machine is Pickler with beans. For instance. Stone city coffee local company. Amazing. Kicking horse tastes terrible like an ash tray In this machine but good in others. Try other beans
Bought a new latte GO 5400 machine. It was already broken after 1 cup of Coffee. I got mine yesterday and so far, all I taste is water. I’m very concerned. And there are like no pucks in my dispenser…
How to calibrate?
Keep in mind that you have to use beans that are ok for these machines.
I've found lavazza works great with it.
@@fortunatedad7695 yes totally, must've been a lucky purchase at first. Ive been using dark roast lavazza beans and it's going awesome. Also i use fat milk for the cappuchinos.
Because you’ve used this machine extensively, it would have been nice to know what you didn’t like about it instead of just seeing how it operates

Hi Myles what number do you use on that cofffe grinder? I have it on 4

@@gfbl Tastes fine now.... after using for a few weeks the pucks went from sloppy mud to firm so likely just something that takes time to bed in
Hi can you expand on your comment of dark shiny beans and why you wouldn’t want to put them into this machine?
Dark and shiny means they are quite oily, oily beans could gunk up the grinder on these models!
@@mylesoffgrid thanks so much for the reply!!
@@mylesoffgrid any recommendations for non-oily beans?
Do you know if it’s possible to change the order of the more drinks list?
it can't be changed
It can't be changed sadly. Hot water all the way at the bottom ❤️
Is this as loud as it seems? I'm used to like a Keurig in the morning before everyone else wakes up
its loud, might wake the person in the other room if you dont close the doors
@alpha9k186 for me the other people are upstairs in a 2 floor house. I read the Keurig is 66 to 70 decibels. The Philips 3300 is 63.
@ i can test how much decibel it is next time i prepare one
@@TRsoocool oops corrected myself. Two floor house. Yes that would be cool. A real world test.

How is the tea, is it hot enough?
TOO hot, which is a good thing for me! Lasts longer in the cup

There is no setting for iced coffee

I really like it, but i dont like the sound of the water pumping, its pretty loud
This seems to be normal from every espresso machine. They have to build pressure
Thanks, this was helpful. I'm looking at the 5500.

@@mylesoffgrid In fact, I bought it yesterday and will try it out this weekend!
After 3 months, i got the same bubbles on the milk foam, like you. Was not like that when it was new
is that bad?
How often do you service it
We clean it routinely. Change the filters when it says to. And I just descaled it for the first time after 8 filters
Thing with waterfilters is the bacteria buildup.
Are you still happy with this? The frothed milk doesn't look that good. It shouldn't have all these air bubbles.
Considering I'm not a barrista it's great for us! I'm not as picky about the froth

Do you have to dial it like those of espresso machines?
We didn't have to do anything out of the box, over 3000 cups now!
@@mylesoffgridwow this machine so robust.
Can you make hot chocolate with it
Sure you can! I would add froth milk until the cup is full and then stir in your chocolate
