The issue is now the regular Downtowns are devalued because of this. The numbered ones are fine but the regular ones are everywhere
@@paulbuker9596 Yeah but if they are truly being honest. They said there were no additional downtowns printed. So that either means there will be a lot missing that didn't go into the right FOTL or Hobby boxes or Panini is full on lying! Which is quite possible lol

I think it's depressing what happened with FOTL, and another black mark on the hobby. It's really racking them up lately.
Imo, parsing Panini's statement, it was completely an unintentional error that put more DTs into circulation than what was supposed to be. It has to devalue them. It'll take a month or two for supply to hit the market and have an effect.
What I think is the most unfortunate thing is that numbered DTs were clearly coming out of FOTL at a higher rate than normal. Those had to have shifted from hobby to FOTL. And for anyone who pre-ordered hobby, it's a slap in the face. Wax prices are stickered based on the top end cards in the product. Consumers paid for that opportunity, and it's not there.
It's a sad situation, but what strikes me more is how all this will get collectors excited rather than angry at how we're ultimately treated as Consumers.

I agree with your take on the situation completely. If Panini truly didn't overprint the DT's like they claim and it was all an accident.....then wouldn't some of the other boxes have to be missing theirs? Their response just doesnt completely add up. Panini has indeed been racking up black eyes a lot lately!

I, too, entered some random division breaks with my usual breaker. They had a case of FOTL optic, and there must have been at least 20 or so downtowns. I kid you not. Almost everyone in the break was getting downtowns that day. Eversince then it has not happened again. I landed an Anthony Richardson DT. I dont necessarily think its going to hurt the hobby per sey, but it will hurt panini, not the collectors. It's nice to see you got so many. Now go greade them. 👍

Some very beautiful cards! So the breaker you joined had one of those hot cases? Nice! Well I know in retail it was hard to hit downtowns. I don't know what the hit rate is in the regular hobby boxes but seems like downtowns are not that easy to hit. What was the average buy in for the breaks? Just curious. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you! Yes, the breaker had multiple cases that were juiced that day. I would have to go back and check the cost average on the breaks but it was very low for once lol compared to the cards I hit!

They printed the same amount of downtowns they always do as far as I understand. They just put them all in one case a bunch of times instead of spreading them out. Or did they over print them. That is the question
