I watch this video alot.....between the sound, the visuals, the material buildup in the bucket, the scraping of the ground, the skid steer operation.... to the finish product! It is a perfect video to relax and warch!
@@ResidentialDirtWork Thank you for responding and sharing your work! It goes beyond learning how to do it but it does so much more for people like myself!
This is a great video with great content... I used to watch this one repeatdely....love the skid steer work, and the scraping of gravel.... this one was a real bad one!
This video is one of my all time favorites. The camera view is perfect and I am glad you let the natural noises be heard. Great Job! Need more like this...
A very easy fix for this is filling the ruts with construction stone, then lifting the driveway about 3 inches then putting down crusher run. The construction stone acts as a filter for the water
Really enjoyed the straight forward video. (Doing the exact driveway repair for a friend soon.) Other camera angle may help for a different approach to viewers if that's the goal of your channel. A follow up would be interesting to hear your thoughts in a year or after several hard rains. Thanks for the video. I am no expert just giving some input. I have only ran a CTL for a few months. Still learning but super appreciative of guys like you willing to share your experience. Subbed.
Thank you for the input and hitting the subscribe button👍🏼. That driveway is still doing well after the many feet of rain that has fallen since it was repaired. Tip: key to making the ruts and pot holes not return is to shed the water and blend in the new material with the old. If you just fill the holes or ruts with new material it will wash right back out again.
Good work but I think I would have made the ditch on the high side deeper, It looks like water may still run onto the road in some areas. Thanks for the interesting video.
I could only do the ditch on the one side. The trees and a water line run down the other side. But you are right the water does have a possibility to cross over. I have it pitched pretty hard to the low side so the only water crossing should be whats falling straight down on it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leaving a comment!

That one was about $1400 . There are a lot of factors that go into that price though I can do that same job in a different location for a $1000 or that same job in a different location for $2,000.
young man , NEED TO WIND ROLL LEFT TO THE RIGHT OLD GRAVEL THEN V CUT IN THE MIDDLE , PUT IN D - BALLAST STONE , THEN WIND ROLL EVERY THING BACK IN PLACE MIGHT HAVE TO SET UP FOR AWHILE UNTIL STAY IN PLACE
Rewatched, 3rd or 4th comment! This is the best camera view of a gravel driveway getting repaired! Love it!

These videos are so enjoyable and relaxing to watch and listen to. It's immediate gratification seeing the driveway look good after grading.

I think that driveway may be on a much steeper grade than it appears in the video

This looks almost exactly like my driveway.. 😭
Crown, pitch, and ditch and you won't have to redo it anymore.

Your grading is destroying the ridges in the gravel!
Dang it! I just love watching this video and how the driveway gers scraped and smoothed out! The sounds are excellent to hear hear!
Back again!😊
4 am and back again! Love this video!
What kind of bucket is that
That is a 72" 4 in 1. I'm not sure why more people don't run them.
@Steady Trolling I would need to see pictures of it
What was the total time spent to make the repair?
For the entire driveway about 4 hrs
YOUNG MAN ,
IF THE DRIVEWAY GO UP HILL U WANT NEED A CROWN / IF U DO THIS MY WAY
What's that gravel called?
That is a granite 825b. It will be called different things in different places. It's basically a mix of #57, #4, and fines.
What’s an estimate of what you charged for this type of job.
That one was about $1400 . There are a lot of factors that go into that price though I can do that same job in a different location for a $1000 or that same job in a different location for $2,000.
@@ResidentialDirtWork Thank you!
Putting money into this drive way would it be cheaper to use black top ??
Would be about 11 times the money for asphalt. Then you still have to seal coat the asphalt every few years.
You should put your cameras on the side of the road
Good advise.. I will do that on the next one 👍🏼.
YOUNG MAN ,
GET GOOD LOAD OF STONE , DO NOT DUMP STONE OUT FIRST LEAVE STONE IN THE LOADER BUCKET FIRST / THEN BACK DRAG WHEN STONE IN THE LOADER BUCK
Yeah it drives me crazy to see operators work with an EMPTY BUCKET.
