    Great video brother! I appreciate you taking time to walk through and breakdown the Vudoo. I haven’t gotten the opportunity to hold one in my hands yet but hoping I can in 2025! I appreciate the work you put in learning all you can about each firearm you review. I’m an audio learner and I’m learning by listening to you. Thanks again!

      My wife is watching with me and said, “man I really like his teaching style, he seems like he has a lot of knowledge, you need to collaborate with him because he’d make sense of all the nonsense you say”. 😂. We both really enjoyed this video and learned a lot.

It's funny about the audio learner comment because my nephew said I talk too much on my video's and need to shoot more 😒Thanks for the kind words brother!

    Thanks for the video. VGW killed it with their offering in the Priest. I got in before the porting option was live and other than cerakote and tooled guide rod she is amazing. About 1k to 1200 rounds in, but same so so good with less than 100-200 round break in totally acceptable for a fitted metal hammer gun in my mind. Keep rocking hoping you are looking to track down a Hayes or Fowler or Atlas those seem like the next level. Venum and Rafferty are stepping up to Infinity wonder how that will go over time be well.

      Yes Sir. I actually have a Hayes Custom PIB barrel on order. So, here in a couple months I can do a comparison between the two. I'm glad you love your Priest as much as I love mine. I will say I shot a AGW Titan and a RCD RC9 yesterday and I was really impressed with the Titan's performance but I still stand by my review of the Priest. I think it's tough to beat for the money. Thank you for watching.

      @@claymac2011Sounds good will be interesting to see the Hayes they look great and have a history in smithing. The Atlas grip seems to be the best those panels allow lots of options plus a long track record. How was the Race City they look nice? The Vulcan Machine looks interesting don't think those are out in numbers yet have you seen those around?

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011  2 месяца назад

      I'm really excited to get it in because the wait is killing me 😬 I really love those Atlas grips too. The Titan I shot had the step on the left side and really liked the setup. The RC9 was beautiful and the grip module and the slide serrations are stunning. However, I wasn't blown away with shooting experience if I'm being honest. The felt recoil in comparison to the other guns we were shooting felt a little harsh for a ported gun. As far as the Vulcan Elven goes I haven't seen one in the wild yet but it looks interesting,

    One of my grip screws came loose, would you suggest blue Loctite? I know that's a dumb question but since it's an 1/8 rather than T-10 i just torqued it down really tight. My slide, frame and mag well are in H-112 Colbalt, and the grip is black and to me it's one of the best-looking guns I have ever seen even though back before I ordered it, I was concerned Vudoo didn't offer DLC but now I wouldn't change a thing except possibly having the barrel coated in DLC. Who puts Cerakote on a barrel? Vudoo LOL. Thank you for the great videos.

      I have shot both the VGW and the DS9 they both shoot equally well non ported models for me. I went DS9 for the coating they use pvd and can generally be had without much of a wait. Also the slide cuts arent that great on the VGW

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011  Месяц назад +1

      @ I’ve shot the LOC and regular DS9 and you’re correct they are great guns. I prefer like LOC over the regular because I love a heavy gun. Although, a really like the DS9 I’ll still take the Priest for shooting performance (tough comparison because my Priest is ported) but the LOC is heavier. The fitment is significantly better on the Priest, the design, overall looks, balance and the smooth action are also noticeably better than the DS9. The slide serrations, coatings and availability are definitely lacking. I think for $3K the DS9 and the JG Black are the tops dogs for me. But from $3-$4K I feel like the Priest/Vulcan is the best 2011 at this price point IMO. As I always say YMMV but you gotta love all the great choices we have 😀

    I really liked your review so far. Going to edit this after I’m done watching it but I wanted to jot down this thought before I finished. My opinion is that you shouldn’t dock it a reliability point for the malfunctions during break-in. The malfunctions could have happened as a result of the extremely tight tolerances VGW gives us with the Priest. If anything, VGW can advise new Priest owners of an expected range of round count that the gun may malfunction during as a result of the break-in. I would hate to see them take some feedback like this in to account and reduce the tolerances. I doubt they would, but would that not be the only solution?

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011  2 месяца назад

      I did say I was being petty for deducting half a point but you are right. I would defiantly not want them loosen up the fitment based on my feedback. I just wanted folks to know there was a small break in period on my gun. There are guys who believe that there shouldn't be a break in period on any gun but I'm not in that crowd because I do love a tightly fitted 2011. Thank you for your feedback.

    That’s using all cheely and atlas parts. Yes there will be some fitting but it’s not crazy.

    Lateral and axial movement in the slide can be measured and actually has a tolerance.

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011  2 месяца назад

      @@timgleason2910 Between the Apache and the JG Black is a tough one to call for a couple reasons. First, the Apache is a single port comp'd gun and the Black is a 4.25 geared towards EDC. Second, There's a $1K dollar difference in cost. Lastly, I don't have any experience with the Apache but I've heard mixed reviews. So my question back to you is, What are you using the gun for and what's your budget? The Black can serve in a multiple roles but the Apache is geared for range fun and competitions. I also love BA TAC Pro 5" and would recommend that gun for all out fun at the range.

      @claymac2011  2 месяца назад +1

      @@timgleason2910 Well if you're carrying it for an EDC then the Black would be a good choice over a 5" inch gun. The Black we would be a good middle ground kind of a do it all type of gun. Plus it's drop dead sexy IMO. Not saying you can't carry a 5" gun it's just a lot for me personally. I would also suggest looking into a MPA DS9 Commander, Staccato C or P as they are around a 4" to 4.4" barrel length and really well built. I also like to remind people that BA only has a 1 year warranty period and the ones I listed have a lifetime warranty. TBH: Most of the 2011s these days are all really solid guns and you've just got to find the one that fits your use case. You really can't go wrong with the ones listed IMO. Hope this helps.
