Gonna be honest, gouken’s win quote against oni is actually pretty sad when you think about it. He’s basically coming to terms with the fact that what he beat is no longer his brother.
People say Gouken and Akuma are tied in terms of strength. I actually think Gouken is stronger, but deep down he loves his brother, so he forces himself to hold back just enough to beat him, but not kill him. Gouken even refused to kill Akuma after one of their fights, with Akuma shouting "Kill me, you have to". Gouken definitely holds back. The only time he doesn't is when he fights Oni, where Gouken admits he's petrified of him (the only time Gouken was ever intimidated) and declared his brother dead since Akuma sacrificed all that made him human to become Oni. Gouken truly is a damn beast

Wow amazing. Simplicity at it's best. That what made this gouken character quite hard to master for the average player. The average player mostly choose ryu, ken, evil eyu, akuma and even oni. Respect to those who master the gouken character.

Arguably Gouken is more powerful than Akuma, as almost every time they fight, Gouken is victorious, and the only time Akuma won, he had to resort to using the Shun Goku Satsu to do so.
Yeah but since now that Gouken had perfected the Power of Nothingness granting him immunity against Akuma's Shun Goku Satsu & Akuma perfected the Satsui no Hado, I'll call them a tough tie. :)
Got to be honest, I was expecting a Perfect on the first round against Ryu. That would have been awesome, kinda like a "Teacher Student" moment where the teacher beat the shit out of you to teach you a lesson. Nevertheless, incredible performance my friend. Salute to you.

With Gouken, why isn't Ryu not the final boss instead of Seth? Seth is Litterally just some fan oc, Ryu are actually tied into his story well and the rival version of Ryu's theme song actually fits the final boss area more than Seths. But if we need a rival battle to replace Ryu then why not it be Ken? He still kind of has the same rival status as Ryu and its supprising he doesn't appear in Gouken's story mode.
