Had some issues with the mic on this one. Y'all may have to work the thumbs a little bit today to adjust the volume. I'm confident you have the required skill set to make it work. Thanks for watching!
Easiest way to get the wear ring in for the backyard mechanic is to stack the old one on top of the new one and then flip the cushion ring upside down and stack it on top of that. Alot easier then looking for a socket.
@@CaptainKleeman I'm sure he does, DP certainly doesn't hold back on wearing hi- vis Captain Kleeman tee shirts ! Between your channel, DP's and C&C's - man you guys' sure impact on my working week lol!!!
You know the relative ease at which you rebuilt that cylinder is going to guarantee when another cylinder fails you will be on the short list to rebuild it! Nice video! I would have appreciated a little peak in DP’s garage LOL!
@ 17:17, that ring is called a "guide ring" by paperwork I've seen. Some such 'paperwork' call it a wear ring as well. "Guide rings, also known as wear rings and bearings, are used to guide the piston and rod in a hydraulic cylinder. These rings absorb radial forces that act perpendicularly to the cylinder. Also, these bearings prevent contact between sliding metal parts, thereby optimizing seal performance."
Mike next time you have a metal Sleeve to put in and you know about it. Put new metal sleeve in a Freezer while your taking the seals out. And once you have old sleeve out and your ready for new one get it out of freezer and it should just Drop right in. And all youll have too do is put snap ring back on. That way you dont have to worry about damaging new sleeve. Should work good for things like that. Just a suggestion Sir. You got it in anyhow I was just giving You another way is all. Great Job Sir. Great Video...
The word you're searching for on the set screw is "Staking". Good job ... just wish you'd use some Brake Cleaner in the reassembly process. Very enjoyable video LT.

Mike, I enjoy your videos, no hi tech tools, just using what you have to do the job 👍 Makes me feel like I should replace the leaking seals on my 60+ year old loader🤔 Good video 👍👍
You made that look easy, appeared to be much easier to get the purchase you needed while the cylinder was still attached to the bucket end ! Changing the rings made you look like a surgeon with the added bonus you know what you are doing 😁 Had no issues with the volume either on this side of the pond, the distance must have evened up the quality!!!
Great work captain. wish the rebuild on my backhoe went that easy. Piston bolt was red loctited on, ended up denting my piston ( luckily it was on the end and not where the pressure ring sits) trying to heat and beat it off.
Ah nice and relaxed repair video... see it come apart, see its inner workings... a little explaining... getting it back together with sparkly new parts and see it work again! Great stuff mister Klee the Man! :)
Jobs like these having a picker truck would make things so much easier. Another option to take it into the shop is get a big heavy flat piece of steel and put the rod in the press and press down on the eyelet holding it down to the table on the press. When i got my bucket cylinder rebuilt on my 230 hitachi, the rod end got mushroomed slightly from the previous owner slamming the bucket open to try get material to come out of the bucket. So had to take it into a machine shop to get the end of the nut and the threads taken off.
I love how you just jump into things. I know did one of those before but that time was a first.. I need to have a little more confidence and make some time to try out some of the things like that I need done and just do it myself
