Thank you for the sharing. But honestly, I am scared of FAs. Because I always get approached by financial advisors or consultants from every social media platforms. It seems like no matter where I am, I have to bump into one. Not trying to criticize what they do and what they are but I'm tired of meeting another one.
I want to be one but I don't want to approach my friends and family when starting out cus I respect them enough to not persuade or influence them. Any other ways to get clients when starting out?
Good question bro. Insurance need advisor, that's a given. The value add a FA brings now should be holistic rather than the typical "insurance + invest". Have to plan for house/education etc. A good FA should be able to advise on portfolio structuring too
A lot of people don't know how to analyze their situation, their needs and goals, and how to create a portfolio that fits those needs and goals. They don't consider a lot of things that can happen in the short and long term. A good FA can guide them through the whole process and, with some luck, can make them some considerable returns under appropriate risk with the right advice. Many folks are financially illiterate, are inexperienced, or just plain scared and unsure. So an FA can help them navigate those uncertain waters with a thoughtful approach ... something especially important if the client is ruled by emotions in his/her investing.
