NC is a conservative-leaning purple state which works well for me as an Independant. If you are looking for a blue state try Minnesota, Michigan, NY state.
Real estate has hit crazy highs in Florida, people have made suitcases full of cash from home sales. But insurance, both home and car has gone crazy. Many people from Florida are taking home equity and moving elsewhere.
I am looking forward to having seasons again. Since moving down to FL I'm always somewhat surprised when Thanksgiving rolls around because the visual cues still say Summer to me. I grew up in Cooperstown, NY so I'm used to temperature changes and falling leaves to tell me time is passing.
I lived in FL from 99’ until 2020. I moved to NC when Covid started 01/2020. I currently reside in Troutman, NC. My husband and I are under contract for a house in green cove springs, FL to be closer to my family . I’m kind of regretting it, I am trying to do pros and cons for both states.

Very true! I’m from so cal and It’s like Florida where you don’t really have seasons, so I can relate!

I would choose NC over FL. At least NC has a Dem governor. FL has a horrific authoritarian governor.
