I’m not a current PS Audio customer. I did buy a Juice Bar and Juice Bar II power strip, back in 2008. With that said I do like Paul he a great guy! He’s obviously trying to get more end users to buy his products that’s understandable. That’s why he does these videos. still he’s a good guy to do this nobody else is going to this extent to educate non-audiophiles and audiophiles about things that they don’t have any or limited knowledge of!
I love videos like this. Seeing happy customers in person is amazing. The service you two provide could be done by anyone but the fact you two do that shows what your company is about. Quality and satisfaction.
Fantastic videos of Paul and Chris getting out there and really taking care of their customers. I'd really like to thank Chris B for his comment about being '"about 20% out of an equilateral triangle"' for seating position. This was the final tweak that really made my speakers disappear.
This second house sounds 100% better then the first its a wider longer room. Id like to see them in a very large room with tall celings or an open concept house. Ill bet they shine in a room like that. I was in a house in Ohama the house had been used as a lodge the room was 35x50 i mean it was massive. Oh the perfet room in kansas city the preforing arts center downtown. On stage. Ive not been in that room yet but ill bet these speakers sound really good in it.
Watching you guys go through the set-up of the FR30's has me flashing back more than 50 years to my tube monos built from kits and my diy speakers featuring 3 way cross overs in huge "sound shaped" home brew (from magazine plans) cabinets that were open at the bottoms (not reflex) - 12" woofers (later to be 15"), 6" midranges and horn tweeters, whodathunkit back then to where we are now! Words such as "sound stage", "imagining" didn't even exist, and no, we didn't have brawls over wire either!! If ya had left and right you were in - although ya had to be sure to buy "stereo" records to get that back then!
Definitely one of the unexpected benefits of watching this video was Chris discussion about room treatment! Many acoustic companies oversell treatment products to the point that a room is dead acoustically.
Only PS Audio provides this kind of after sale service by helping the customer to install the speaker with room optimisation. Bravo! Take note other speakers producers
I like that the PS Audio speakers can be pulled apart to replace parts at home...if necessary. Some Magico speakers have to be shipped back to the factory if things need to be replaced because of the way they are constructed. That means shipping a 150+ lbs speaker to the factory and not having it for 3-4 weeks. PS Audio=Customer Service.
Love this. Thanks to Paul and to the new owner for allowing us to visualize and get a taste of the sound of these new loudspeakers. Paul I think PS Audio has hit one out of the park.
Thank You, again. For the first delivery and setup and this one. Different rooms and music. Really enjoyed the highly experienced and technical installations. Awesome speakers, the engineering and experience behind them.
Thanks and much appreciate to the owner. Paul and Chris, amazing and well done for taking us through this journey, no other company will do this, well done PS Audio. More please
Speakers sound better in this room then the first delivery at was done. I know it's depends on mics and so on but you can still get some idea of sound coming from the speakers. Sound very real this time. I wish there was a place here in NJ to demo this PS Audio speakers, I love to try the 1984 Album Time Warp by Erich Kunzel Cincinnati Pop Orchestra I love that disc for a demo shows every range of the speaker pretty much and if they can handle a butt kicking. Thank you Paul and Chris for sharing your delivery Setups with your customers great Idea.
These are fun, I really like your speaker designer he sounds incredibly knowledgeable. Can't wait to see the smaller rendition that may be in my future Paul.
I have watery eyes - what service! Sadly, I live behind the Big Pond - I would be happy to meet Paul and Chris and learn. I even would happily cook for them 😀
The Bass response and entire frequency range over my phone, from your video camera in the customers theater room is impressive! An audiophile on the Bus!
They really sounded very good from where I am even on my phone they sounded really well I love that the covers easy service of the speakers. Great job Paul and team!!!!!!
I didn’t think we were going to see installation #2. I thought the customer didn’t want it filmed. FR 30’s, duel REL #25’s, BHK 300’s. I am drooling all over myself😄 Please keep the videos coming.👍
So much better than the last set-up. Between the two set ups so far, it should be obvious how big of a role the room itself plays in the overall system and flexibility of set up. It’s not just about throwing as much high-end equipment as you can into a room and hoping for the best, but actually maximizing the equipment and speaker integration with the room itself. Because of starting out with a good room, look at how much easier, flexible and quicker that speaker set-up was compared to the first one. 👍🏼 I hope this helps prove to people how important it is to start with a good room first.
I wait for the first time one of your customers plays Money for Nothing. One sound engineer told me that is the perfect song to test a system. And with my very limited knowledge I agree with him. It certainly makes those speakers work.
On the good ones the entire song is cleaner, the details much clearer, and the compression is not affected to any noticeable degree if at all. But there are bad ones as well. The remaster of Money for Nothing is is one of the best I think.
Sound Stage is much wider, deeper and taller than I would have expected for Speakers being so close together! I could eliminate my Mini DSP in-between the Pure DSD Stream and the Dac! No need for Parametric Equalization or Tone Controls either! A True Pinnacle of Achievement! Comparable to even the most expensive HiEnd I have heard at any Show! Can't wait to hear them in person! Superlative Creation!
Seriously, how can you possibly tell anything about sound stage, depth, etc., considering the recording was done using a few wireless mics that were in constant motion? They may be great speakers, but you couldn’t possibly ascertain that from this video, especially considering RUclips's compression algorithm.
@@jah5035 50 years of Near Field Listening where everything comes through mics gives you a good idea of what is going on! Especially Post Fade! After you have listened to hundreds of different Speaker Manufacturers equipment you hear the subtle differences! Compression just limits Dynamic Range, not nuances! I know what you wrote was on jest, but as a former Hifi salesmen the vast majority of buyers of flagship loudspeakers were small business owners; Car dealership owner, Painting company owner, gas station owner, donut shop owner (Yes Donut shop) etc.
I'm sure Jim (who probably is reading the comments) is super proud of the personalized service. The room dimensions are Awesome! Some small tweaks to his hybrid 2-channel/theatre setup acoustically would be easy to do to remove some of the deadness in the room. You can also see that he has large corner bass traps, but they are well hidden, which for sure are helping with the bass articulation. I think that they can probably be moved outward a bit by the owner to help his theatre setup, with a touch more toe-in. It would also be cool to see the frequency response measurement of the final position, but not necessary. Great job PS-Audio and congratulations to the owner! Enjoy in good health
I kinda like my room, the speak wall is open on 2 sides. The back wall is 12' behind me and 18' in frt of me the only draw back is the rooms 25' wide + and 13' from frt to back wall so you really can't move the speakers off the wall, but the ports come out the frt of the tower speakers. The rooms not dead its more open so you really don't get reflected sounds. The energy is absorbed by the other large rooms.
Paul said it when exclaimed how the speakers disappear. I was thinking the same thing almost at the same instant. (15:35) It was obvious even on my computer, absolutely amazing!!!
Love watching this. Hope more to come especially covering speaker locations and acoustic set up based on actual environments with your professional ideas and recommendations.
Very nice of you guys to show up and set up the FR30's for the customer. Can't say I know of any other company that would send the speaker designer to set up speakers!
My favourite guitar store has a room where they have many Martin, Taylor & Maton guitars and some mandolins hanging from every wall so when playing a guitar in that room it sounds wonderful.
That was a thrill. Thanks for sharing. After patiently waiting for the development to finish, I feel like we all just witnessed the birth of a new thing. They sounded good right out of the box.
Obviously this customer enjoys good home theater as well. Those speakers have a very high gloss finish. When the lights go out those speakers will reflect light like mirrors on each side while watching a movie which would be very annoying for me. Maybe a future option for a less reflective surface or cover for the sides?
i love how relaxed they all are, just a good vibe. The big fellow forgot is name is speaking so relaxed talking the time. This is how i would like my installation installed... No just get the money..... 🙂
I think it is awesome that you take the time and travel to their location , and help setup there system to be good as possible, given the room etc. That there is excellent customer service. The above and beyond customer service I'd say, is going out of State (customer number 1, not sure where this takes place.)
To my way of thinking, that is not so much a "sale and purchase". It is more a "sharing of joy" between both parties. There is so much said in just the calm demeanor in everyone. Kindred spirits. And there's no doubt in my mind they'll all remember that installation day with excitement.
Awesome sound when he played his quoboz track! Nice room and you can definitely hear when you guys were talking how the room is overdamped obviously for is home theater set up but not applicable for two channel sound! He’s got those absorption panels on the right wall maybe 6 feet from the Loudspeakers between two curtains if he were to replace that with the diffuser would have a much better impact! I wonder which Rockport model he had those are very heavy dense loudspeakers over $100,000 and he chose the FR 30s, $30,000., 1/3rd or 1/5th the Rockford cost! that speaks volumes about your awesome FR 30s Paul! Aaron Copland microphone was in the wrong position it should’ve been in the center, it was off to the left! Love the FR30’s! Very impressive! Wow!
What would speak the most volumes is the customer giving his input on how it the PS audio speakers sound compared to the Rockport speakers. Just because he had a $100,000 speaker and he bought a 30000 speaker that doesn't tell us anything. He obviously bought them before he even heard them. I'm willing to bet my first and second child that it's simply a different sound but not necessarily A Better Sound. That's what I've learned from different speakers in the three Rigs and my place is the sounds are just different. It's not like one sounds fantastic and the other one sounds like crap.
The owner is a true audiophile!! Those dual RELs G25s are something else! I would love to ask the owner about why he chose the speakers instead of other ones in the price range like Magicos or Wilson’s. One of my favorite parts just to just listen to why owners chose one product over the other. Maybe an idea for a future video! Thanks y’all
Its amazing to see a set of speakers being positioned in an hour or two, and being able to do the "disappearing act" almost instantly, when I take months to achieve that, after tuning them to the micron ...
Amazing...with that out of the way. I'm not a fan of my listening position (Ears) being below the tweeter in any speaker I'm listening to. Sub's are purdy but I would also like to see them at least 1 more feet apart. Am I wrong either of these preferences? If so my speakers are too far apart, and my listening position is wrong.
Sounded amazing, but "HOW" did they sound with those beautiful big REL No 31 / 32's? Or better yet, a line array of six No 31 / 32's, please demonstrate this for us also 🙂
Did you ever do any listening with his subs running? I can't imagine why you would need to but I was just wondering if you tried them. Also, getting good depth and width in that over dampened room says a lot for the speakers themselves. 40 years ago I had a 2nd story music room with 2 walls exposed to city noise and I insulated and dampened to excess. All but the plaster covered brick chimney coming up from the fireplace the floor below. One day I was standing between the speakers, just behind the front face of them and noticed a wonderful sound stage coming from the reflection on that hard plaster wall over brick. It was my first time hearing what reflections can add to the sound. If the owner of that room takes their advice and livens up the room just a little in the correct places he will be more than a little surprised how it will open up in ways he may never have heard before. Thanks Paul and Chris for your patience and skill with these installs.
I heard the IRS V on many occasions and these new FR30 seem close to the dynamic impact of those speakers. On a couple of the recordings, it seems a little too much bass, but I am sure the microphone was not in the optimal location. I am very impressed. I would love to hear a direct, side-by-side comparison with the Focal Utopia Evo or Stellas. I love the way these speakers look. PS Audio did a fantastic job with these speakers in both sound quality and design. Too often folks have to make a compromise between the two. The only suggestion I have is to possibly add the ability to tilt the tweeter and possibly mid-range slightly, without having to tilt the entire speaker.
🤗GREAT JOB …❤️ GETTING TO GO ALONG AND SHARING THE EXPERIENCE …THANKS THANKS TO JIM FOR LETTING US COME ALONG 👍 and we love ❤️ his listening chair and leaving off the grills 👍😍😍😍…also relate to the WAF 😉😅
@@wordsmythical THANKS BRIAN 😂😉I AM VERY FAMILIAR with them, but they have never been in my budget and the WAF has prevented me from getting the replicas…so far …but there is still hope 🤗😉😍😍😍
I always see videos with these high end high dollar systems but they’ve always listening to jazz or classical music would love to see one playing some Ozzy, CCR, or some Metallica sometime. Beautiful speakers though and great sound.
Love these sessions, keep them coming. Did you try them with the Rel subwoofers or does he have the AV speakers built in to the walls etc and keeps the two separate.
Out of my price range, at least at the moment, but how awesome would it be to have the owner / designer / engineer come into your home to help set up your system?
A much more appropriate room for these speakers than the last video that's for sure. I got to say I'm a little shocked with people's semi modest homes buying $30,000 speakers!🤯🙄 And that's just for the speakers. To each their own I suppose.😇 I have a feeling Paul found a new chair to buy. I loved when he almost cursed when sitting in it because it is so comfortable.🤣😅🤣😂
Once you go Eames you dont go back. Last year I found a 1962 model beat up at an antique store with the Ottoman and bought it for $500, had it restored and it is the finest chair I've ever sat in.
Agreed not knowing what’s driving the fr30 will make a Huge difference. As a customer I would want the boxes and packing materials persevered in case I had to move to a new home in future and not torn apart and trashed as shown in this install. Imho
Keeping these massive speakers so close together may be a problem for screen viewing in some set ups. How much would the end result be compromised keeping them a couple of feet wider apart?
I agree definitely not a Super Bowl party room the speakers are blocking the screen but definitely nice sound from 10000 dollar speakers with a markup so they can make a 20000 dollar profit for the very few pairs they will sell and get Paul and his engineer to come to your house but trust me they are making 20000 plus profit but it’s his money to spend
@@dmptcb I don’t get what this has to do with my question. Keeping the same screen with the speakers wider apart could work given the sitting position. Regarding the price mark up, how much you think Wilson Audio or Magico are making as profit then?
I love these customer sessions. Please more if possible

most rooms are shit
So it will cost us $28,000 to get both Paul and Chris in to our listening room, I think it's worth it, great sounding speakers.
I can only dream of what they must sound like. Not to mention adding those 2 GIGANTIC subs to that setup.
Are they not massively in the way of the screen?
Sounded amazing, but "HOW" did they sound with those beautiful big REL No 31 / 32's? Or better yet, a line array of six No 31 / 32's, please demonstrate this for us also 🙂
Congrats to the Buyer. Great Pleasure. Pls more Videos like this.
Excellent super clean sound. Good tone and timbre
🤗GREAT JOB …❤️ GETTING TO GO ALONG AND SHARING THE EXPERIENCE …THANKS
THANKS TO JIM FOR LETTING US COME ALONG 👍 and we love ❤️ his listening chair and leaving off the grills 👍😍😍😍…also relate to the WAF 😉😅
That looks like an Eames Lounge Chair. With matching Ottoman, it runs ~US$8 000.
@@wordsmythical THANKS BRIAN 😂😉I AM VERY FAMILIAR with them, but they have never been in my budget and the WAF has prevented me from getting the replicas…so far …but there is still hope 🤗😉😍😍😍
I love that room. Eames lounge chair. Nice.
I always see videos with these high end high dollar systems but they’ve always listening to jazz or classical music would love to see one playing some Ozzy, CCR, or some Metallica sometime. Beautiful speakers though and great sound.
Yeah..same with car audio..almost always Rap/Hip Hop
At big room, those speakers Shines! Amazing 😍
@@Audiorevue 🤪🤗😇
Those REL no25's are gorgeous!
Wow Paul your house is so modest !
Paul I second ex metal comment totally
This is a wonderfully new area to go
Thank you for doing this
nice to see real world installs with no frills attached.
What an amazing listening space! I can only dream! 😄
It would be nice if they specified what equipment was being used to drive the speakers.
Agreed not knowing what’s driving the fr30 will make a Huge difference. As a customer I would want the boxes and packing materials persevered in case I had to move to a new home in future and not torn apart and trashed as shown in this install. Imho
Good, sensible and effective room treatments gets 2 thumbs up from me.
Keeping these massive speakers so close together may be a problem for screen viewing in some set ups. How much would the end result be compromised keeping them a couple of feet wider apart?
You would need to move the screen anyways. That screen placement is for in wall speakers
The sound stage would fall apart and mids would get really thin
