Fei Yuqing is a great singer. He sang for more than 40 years and then retired in 2020. He no longer has any public performances. This show was the last TV show he participated in, and Zhou Shen was the last singer he collaborated with before retiring.

Originally a Japanese song. The first few lines sung by Zhou Shen was in Japanese. This was a very, very popular Japanese song in the old days. It was covered and modified by many singers in Taiwan and Hong Kong then. Very soothing and beautiful melody. The harmony sound so peaceful.
By the way, Fei has retired from singer right after this show. So this was one of the last few songs he sang in the public.

Veteran Japanese singer & songwriter Shinji Tanimura was the original singer & writer/composer of this 1980 Japanese song 'Subaru' or 'Star'. He once served as a professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China. He debuted in 1972 & passed away on 8 Oct 2023 at the age of 74. His singing was at its best about 40 years ago, & I had seen 3 yt videos of his performances of this song when he wasn't that young anymore but still sounded great.

Needless to say once again how remarkable Shenshen is. It's obvious. Let's talk about Fei Yu Qing instead (pronounce Fei Ü Ching). The man fascinates me. This vocal velvet, this accomplished art of traditional song... this singer is one of the most perfect representatives of Chinese culture (like Li Yu Gang, Huo Zun or Gong Lin Na, etc.). You absolutely have to see his duets with A Yun Ga, and in particular their "Pearl curtain":

IMO, one of the most beautiful duets A Yun Ga has ever participated in.
I enjoyed Fei Yu Qing very much in the Our Song competition. If I remember correctly, he and his "student" were the winners. But his "note taking" was the best

Ooohw cool this is from Our song 2019 which also includes Na Ying with Xiao Zhan and Ayanga ,Liu Yu Ning and more. .....Fei Yuqing, also called Uncle Fei, is such a sweet and cute man, you have indeed not heard him sing before, but he could be seen in your reactions to, for example, Hua Chenyu with Su Shiding and the Idiot with Ma Lu in The Next where he just like Hua Chenyu was in the regular team.
This song is so beautiful it was also one of my favorite songs in that episode together with the song L'amour/Carmen which was also by Zhou Shen, Hacken Lee, Uncle Fei and another boy whose name I forget 🤔❤❤
