Bro, you really missed the true Jay Chou song that fits literally your style: "Jay Chou - Fearless". It is literally an ancient Chinese music fused with modern Rock, Hip Hop, and Rap plus Chinese Opera sung traditionally by a man, like broo
Fei Yu Ching in the one who wore dark suit. He is a legend singer in China and Taiwan. He was 50 years old when he featured in this song. You should check out his other songs, he’s the most incredible male singer I ever heard of.
Jay Chou also made a song and played the protagonist in the Initial D live action movie .One of my favorite songs is Chrysanthemum Terrace and its also a song for a movie he was in (Curse of the Golden Flower) .Also sung the title music for the Jet Li martial arts movie Fearless .
Ayyye a Jay Chou song!! Used to love his old stuff. He used to be a producer before starting to make music himself. He always dabbled in every genre, even had a country themed album. I actually started dating my ex in college because he showed me a Jay Chou song and said it was very romantic...so I sort of fell for him because of that.
周杰倫 Jay Chou【七里香 Qi-Li-Xiang】was the song he showed me that he called romantic. I wanted it played at our wedding, haha. other good songs are 【止戰之殤 Wounds of War】(he raps, sings and plays the piano), Jay Chou【霍元甲 Fearless】(ost for the Jet Li movie Fearless, rap and opera falsetto) and【夜曲 Nocturne】(pretty)
Jay Chou has composed many different styles of songs in his long career. More people know his rap and faster songs. You already know one Jay Chou rap song: he wrote the original “Nunchucks,” your first Hua Chenyu reaction. Jay also wrote one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard, about growing up watching his dad beat up his mom. It’s autobiographical and heartbreaking. Hua Chenyu covers that, too. Others recommended it to you, but luckily you didn’t watch it. (For reference, it’s called Dad, I’m Home.) You have good recommendations for more Jay Chou reactions. He’s incredible talented! I can see why Hua Hua admires him and chose his songs. Please react to Hua’s “I Don’t Care” from Singer 2018. It’s a rock song, and I think you’d like it.
Yeah I'm always baffled that there are still people who don't know who he is by now. He's transcended the Mandopop genre many years ago. He's a musical legend.
You should check out his fast songs. In The Name Of The Father, Wounds Of War, Chapter Seven, Bedtime Stories. There are so many more but these are a few to start off with. He has quite a lot of dark gothic style rap songs where he blends classical music with modern beats. As for your question, yes he does compose all of his songs and directs many of the music videos. He was trained in classical piano since he was 4 and also plays cello along with many other instruments. Because of his background in being trained inclassical music, his specialty is composition. So literally every Jay Chou song you hear is composed by him. I love his voice too because he sings like a musician. He uses his voice as another instrument rather than just his voice overpowering the music. The older guy is Fei Yu Ching btw. I look forward to you doing more Jay Chou reviews. I'm American and I've been a fan of Jay Chou since 2004. He has 15 albums now. I love that more people in the west are discovering him now. Oh, and his last name can be pronounced as "Cho" or "Chow". Most people pronounce it as "Chow" these days though. Even Jay himself pronounces it that way.
Its pronounced as Jay Chow. He was like the Michael Jackson of Asia. He ventured into Hollywood movies aswell, he played Kato in Seth Rogens, Green Hornet. I recommend reacting to chinese singer G.E.M. you will be blown away
In old China, the way people express love is very reserved, so you will see the ending of the mv like this. Another very important point is that you must read the lyrics when listening to Chinese songs! Although the original flavor will be lost after translation.
Thank you for your video! I haven't heard Jay Chou's voice in so long and instantly I was transported back to when I was a teenager and would listen to him every day. His voice is so beautiful and unique, it's hard to describe. I would highly recommend you listening to his song "Fa Ru Xue"
Jay is legendsry level entertainer: he write songs, sings, directs mvs, correographs a lot of the mvs as well, does story tellings ,etc. If you love this mv, you really should check his others mvs: “ fa ru xue”, “ qing hua ci”, “ju hua dai”, “hong chen inn”, “rain all night” Musicwise My fav one is “hong chen inn” and “dong feng po”, whereas mv I love “ fa ru xue”, “ju hua dai”, and “ rain all night”
Jay chou , doing the rap , arrangements, also act as the young boy in love with the girls ,the reff is giving to fei yu ching to do the masterpiece , jaychou also do the OST kungfu legend hua yen chia its also nice arrangements with lots of energy
Jay Chou is a singer-songwriter, actor, and director. He is the king of Chinese pop music. You can compare his status with Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley. The music styles he created are very varied, love songs, rap, narrative, anti-war, fast or slow songs are all in his creative range. Congratulations, you met Jay Chou without knowing anything about China. He is without a doubt the most valuable one. In the history of Jay Chou's creation, it is recognized that the most successful, complex and artistic song is "In the Name of the Father". This song is also composed and directed by Jay Chou himself. And another song "Chapter Seven of the Night" is also a masterpiece of self-directed and self-acted. These two songs fully demonstrated Jay Chou's talent. It is strongly recommended that you experience these two works and watch the mv. You will absolutely be amazed by the talent of this guy
Wish so much you can also react to other Jay Chou songs, such as his new “Greatest Work of Art”, the trap rap and classic music fusion is just amazing.
I always wonder why people recommend his ballads as a first introduction to Jay Chou's music. His ballads are classics but they aren't as epic as his fast songs.
One of the bands that you absolutely HAVE TO react to that you would LOVE is Bad Religion! Specifically some of their songs like 21st Century Digital Boy, American Jesus, Recipe for Hate, and Portrait of Authority!!!
Here for Uncle Fei…. Love the man… hes too funny. Dont care much for his music though.. never listen to him…..ive never seen anybody react to him before.👍Please react to more Hua Chenyu. 💕And maybe The Hu …or Tengger/Tengri’s «Heaven» from Singer 2018.
The Chinese song industry is very competitive, to rise to the top, most artistes have to multitask, many singers also compose melody and/or lyrics, the few that specialize in vocals will be incredibly good such as Zhou Shen 周深 and Sitar Tan 谭维维. Jay Chou is most well known for his melody composing and song arrangement abilities rather than his voice, in addition to being extremely prolific enough to sell songs to other singers too.
The MV depicts a romantic relationship between a female celebrity and a manual laborer. The female celebrity is taken abroad by international paparazzi to pursue her career. Upon returning to her home country, she coincidentally meets the manual laborer, but they have become different people living in separate worlds.
His last name should be pronounced like "Joe." "Chou" is an old way of romanizing the Chinese name 周 and still in use in Taiwan. The mainland pinyin system writes it as "Zhou" which "zh" is always pronounced like a "j" (so for instance, the name "Zhang" should be pronounced "jang"). "Fei Yu-Ching" is basically how it looks. His family name Fei is pronounced "fay" as in "fair," not "fye." He no longer sings, btw. Fei announced his retirement in September 2018 and had his farewell tour in 2019.
Here is another rabbit hole you have to check out. It's Dirty Loops (they are awesome), try their song "Follow the Light", I know you are going to be blown away.
This next one I recommend is a song also by Jay Chou that used to be broadcasted on a lot of street vendors in China back in the day on repeat when it was released. It is called 稻香 (Rice Field). Very different vibe from Faraway, so could be interesting. Link below as well ruclips.net/video/sHD_z90ZKV0/видео.html
in china jay chou influence like MJ + eminem + Bier + usher + elvis in there no one can escape his music, cuz i came from oversea, just react all his albums then you will know i am right or wrong!
u should react to Jay Chou's other songs. I recommend checking out Sign Language, Hair Like Snow, I'm not Worthy, A dandelion promise, Maple Leaf & Blue and White Porcelain.
In fact, Jay Chou is Taiwanese (this will involve political issues, so sometimes he has to say "Chinese/China") He can write songs, write lyrics, and be a director by himself. He often cooperates with a person named " Fang Wenshan" in his works. Mr. Fang is very good at composing lyrics (the words he uses have many meanings and are very beautiful) In Jay Chou's works, I personally like the music that has collaborated with Fang Wenshan . Fei Yuqing is an older singer in the film. He is from the same country as Jay Chou and is very famous. Unfortunately, he has announced that he will stop performing on stage (age considerations)
Wow thank you so much for explaining everything! I absolutely loved this and can't wait to check out more, appreciate the Collab recommendations too ❤️
Jay is not wrong though as Taiwan is part of China and like all Taiwanese they see themselves as Chinese and their official language is also Mandarin just like in China.
In fact. Jay Chou has never referred to himself as "Taiwanese" in any media interviews and program recordings. Don't get wrong, he is from Taiwan, but Jay Chou is not a supporter of Taiwan independence. On the contrary, Jay Chou has repeatedly declared in media interviews and TV programs that he considers himself a Chinese and fully supports Taiwan's belonging to Chinese territory. This is also an important reason for Jay Chou's success in China. The relationship between Jay Chou and the Chinese government is very good. In 2008, the Chinese government launched a satellite with Jay Chou's songs into space. To today the satellite is still working and continues to play Jay Chou's music in space.
