It was a name change and nobody, yes nobody became violent or objected to the Christian name change. After all, Islam is meant to be a religion of Peace. Muslims always respect Mary ( peace be upon her) There are many mosques and minars built in Mary's name by Muslims . But Muslims never pray Mary like Catholics do .
