I mean, who doesn't LOVE Paul Giamatti!
Victoria
Elizabeth Cohen
I don't know that person! And don't wanna!🤷🏾♀️
❤
I think Paul Giamatti is the best!! ❤❤❤
He's on track for a well-deserved Oscar nomination.
Should've been nominated for Sideways.
@@julianmark I agree completely and I think he should have WON for Sideways.
Mr. Nolan, you're so right! Giamatti is an artist for the people!✊🏾🎭🎬🤩💕Now, his chances of winning are much higher now w/a grander body of work!🎭🏆
Nomination? F that! He needs to win.
@@LisaMurphy I agree!
The Holdovers is a masterpiece with amazing performances from the entire cast. Felt very honest to life and despite having tragic elements in the characters’ lives you come away feeling hopeful for them.
Saw it last week. An absolutely brilliant film. All three of the main characters deserve Oscars.
Agreed!
totally
it sucked, Cillian sucked and the music score was horrible. EDIT: oh wait I was talking about Oppenheimer!
@@LisaMurphy Yeah, okay, thanks for your opinion. 🙄
@@gasaholic47 Oh, wait! My posting got on the wrong thread somehow. I was saying Oppenheimer sucked, not Holdovers. Holdovers was very good!
I just love Paul Giammati! Great guy and actor.
He's one of those actors that improves every movie he's in.
He's a fantastic actor! ❤❤❤❤
Like fine wine 🍷 gets better with age.
whos seen big fat liar? its a kids movie but he showed up with one of the greatest villanous performances ive ever seen ( not exaggerating)
I do enjoy a Giamatti appearance.
@@nathanlatham5651Agreed, Paul was so good in that movie.
“Snarling Visigoth’s” and “ hormonal vulgarians” are my 2 favorite bands OMG!!
Not “penis cancer in human form”?
I just saw it tonight. Loved it, absoLUTEly re-creates the feel of 1970s character-driven movies. Giamatti is wonderful, Da'Vine Joy Randolph is wonderful, and this new kid Dominic Sessa, whoever he is, I am instantly his fan forever. Go see it.
I've seen it. Loved it. It has such an cozy vibe in addition to the amazing cast. The script was moving and very funny. The authenticity can be felt. For starters it seemed to be filmed during winter. It'll become a yearly watch for me.
The scene in Sideways at the end, when he finds out the ex just didn't want to have kids with HIM, the look on his face was perfect. I felt his pain
Been there, lived that too... Deepest rejection ever.
His entire performance on that film is amazing.
Loved him playing, John Adams. Incredible language for that era.
Yes, I am reading the book Abigail and John Adams which the series was based on and Giamitti is who I picture as John Adams.
that mini-series was amazing, and he was so, SO good.
@@Dr_Bombay Laura Linney was excellent as well
@@marytheresejacksonlutz2533We have John Adams on d.v.d. Their home is historical. The library is incredible. Enjoy 😊
RUN, don't walk to see The Holdovers, it's a phenomenal movie. Paul Giamatti at his best!!!
Seen it twice on the big screen. One week apart. Special movie.
What an actor and what a charismatic person! He's so interesting in every interview he gives. I'd love to just sit down and chat about all the weird things on his mind
I was lucky enough to see "The Holdovers" in an early release. What a gem of a film. Every actor is brilliant and the story is wonderfully crafted. Highly recommend. Also recommend Chinwag.
One of my favorite actors. The Holdovers is a fabulous film and he should win an Oscar for it.
This film was so sweet. He did an amazing job at such a believe hardass professor who does really care about all the values he extols and does the right thing when push comes to shove.
Up until Sideways, Paul has always played a reliable supporting character. I’m happy to see him getting leading roles nowadays.
Paul is the best! I ❤his characters, and what a great guy
His pinnacle scene in Lady in The Water when he confesses is his finest acting moment imho. And I think it’s high time that he plays an Italian mob boss.
Thanks. I was trying to remember the name of that. As I recall, he was the best thing about that movie.
That film was a piece of shit
I love him! His sense of humor, his intelligence, and he's just so damn cute!
Saw The Holdovers last night. Absolutely wonderful movie
Alexandre Payne is a fantastic stylist. This isn't news to cinephiles. His directorial prowess is on full, albeit subtle, display here. A finely crafted paean to 70s, character-driven bildungsroman film, just self-aware enough to allow for that genre's tropes to slip by without seeming hackneyed. The plot hinges around two characters, pupil and teacher, slowly discovering, through different social situations, why each are the way they are. If I happened upon this movie, it would take me a hot minute to discern that it actually isn't from the 70s. Giamatti dishes his usual wry charms. Two Thumbs heavenwards.
His performance was better than anyone in Oppenheimer by far, he should get best actor 100%
u said it!!
Careful nolan fanboys won't be happy to hear that 🤣🤣🤣
@@kyorikusagami84 I'm a Nolan fan, Oppenheimer was good, not great. Also, fuck the fanboys who can't be honest lol
We love paul Giamatti and stephen colbert
Glowing reviews of a lovely movie! Giamatti is fabulous! My favorite quote, " History is not simply a study of the past, it is an explanation of the present. " Wonderful writing!
Paul Giamatti is genuinely brilliant in every film he’s in! My favorites of his many wonderful performances are Cinderella Man, Parkland, Win Win, Love & Mercy, and Lady In The Water.
I never met Paul but I knew his dad and this apple has not fallen far from that tree.
03:18 oh my goodness!!🫢 Didn't know Paul Giamatti had a podcast...
Gonna look that up: right after finishing watching this.
Having the opportunity to listen to British scholar 😍 Dame Mary Beard chatting about 'ancient history' with Paul Giamatti. Stop my beating 💓 heart!!🥳
Great movie. Watched it last night and was delighted.
I knew it would be fantastic with Paul in it. He is a fantastic actor. He is like Leonardo DiCaprio you put Paul Giamatti in your movie you double if not triple your ticket sales.
The Hangovers didn’t disappoint, I really enjoyed the relationship between all the actors.
Just watched the Holdovers… best film I’ve seen in a very long time.
with the exception of movies done by Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson and a small collective of others, very few drama movies of this ilk really get their claws in me being that i'm mostly into action, war, and psychological thrillers, but this is such a beautiful movie; far beyond anything i could have expected.
It is now one of the best movies i've seen all year. i highly recommend watchin it. And Paul Giamatti is awesome actor.
I'm gonna have to put that movie on my list. I loved 'About Shmidt'.
And Giamatti stole 'Sideways', but Madsen, Oh and Hayden-Church were excellent too.
If he's in it I will watch it.
God I Loved him in Sideway!! I LOVED Sideways!
Giamatti is gift to humanity ❤
Also i love that he loves In-N-Out burger
I’ve been telling everyone the penis cancer thing…best cinematic insult of the year
I would watch Paul Giamatti in everything...well deserved Golden Globe, come on Oscar...beautiful film
This film is incredible.
I adore Paul Giamatti!
Yes man, these two rock!
Total class and wonderful artist.
A movie might be filled with C actors and it may look like a shlock shoot-em up movie, BUT if it has Paul in it - then I'm gonna watch it.
A phenomenal actor..
He was great in the movie! I remember him from Big Momma’s House and Big Fat Liar. I hope he wins an Oscar
Have you seen sideways? One of the best.
Paul Giamatti as "Pig Vomit" in Howard Stern's "Private Parts". The movie where Howard professed his love for his wife at the end, released right before she divorced him... You could cut the irony with a knife...
That feels weirdly truncated. Love Giamatti, and he’s INCREDIBLE in this movie.
My favorite actor, such a gem
My favorite movie with Paul is the Illusionist.
a magic fan-boy policeman... An interesting role...
Congratulations Paul for your Golden globe award 👏
Love Mr. Giamatti!!!!! Hope he keeps making movies till he walks with a cane.
It is absolutely a beautiful film. Go see it!
The term "Garum", a fermented fish sauce that was used as a condiment in the cuisine of ancient Rome, comes to mind when thinking of a classical antiquarian who smells like fish!
love ya Paul !
A Christmas classic like it or not Payne 😂😂
The Holdovers is a BEAUTIFUL movie. Do yourselves a favor and go see it. I loved it.
Funny story that no one asked for, every time I see Paul Giamatti I think back to the first time I saw the movie Sideways. My family used to have family movie nights where we one of us would choose a movie to rent from Blockbuster and we would all have to watch that. My mom rented Sideways, not knowing anything about it. And, this isn't a spoiler but, there's a scene where Thomas Haden Church runs toward the camera completely naked. I was 12, my brother was 9 and my mom was HORRIFIED. My dad still makes fun of her "kid-friendly" movie choice to this day. Also, if you haven't seen the movie John Dies at the End, you totally should. Giamatti kills it, as usual.
He is just the best..he will always be John Adams to me..
That right there is one of the best actors in history. That movie as like, Green Book is bonifide brilliant.
Deserves an Oscar, all day, every day.
Loved the movie. Highly recommend it.
I watched the movie, It's heart touching. I love the scene of museum, dialogue on history. ❤❤❤❤
That was the kind of movie that brought back nostalgia and the great feelings from the 90s. Less superhero movies and more of this hollywood, take notes.
Giamatti does entertain..
Watched the film last night. It’s incredible. No wonder it’s nominated for best picture
Saw the film this week. It's brilliant, go see it.
I loved the Holdovers. Great cast.😊❤
I adore him❤ What a magnificent actor!
He was amazing in duets
Hormonal Vulgarians is the new name of my post ska band.
😂 that's awesome 😂
Best film I’ve seen since Uncle Frank. Well done to all involved, and thank you.
Fantastic movie
Paul Giamatti is absolutely brilliant. He is one of my favorite actors - if my most favorite. It is the cherry on top that his father, A. Bartlett Giamatti, was a Yale professor of classics (and the Ph.D. advisor to a friend of mine), later the president of Yale, and then commissioner of Major League Baseball. Bart died way, way too young (like 50 years old).
I'm not in the acting profession (but let's be real? We ALL 'act' a little bit in life??). Still, it's fascinating to see into how professionals think about their craft.
I really want to see this. He's my favorite schlubb. 😻
It’s a wonderful film 👍❤️
Great interview
".. he smells like fish..."
also,
"...He wrote this with me in mind!"
When I can’t sleep l listen to lady in water playing on my phone with headphones. I feel like I am floating in a mysterious fantasy world
probably movie of the year for me. amazing film
Excellent Pau and Movie 🎉
The "Holdovers" is an excellent movie.
Best movie I've seen in a long time.
I couldn’t recommend this movie highly enough. It will heal your broken heart.
What a great movie it is!!! I highly recommend it to everyone
This is a high quality movie- wonderful characters and storytelling and no political agenda. So see it and remember how good movies used to be!
Yeah, cause 70s movies... especially Hal Ashby, who this film homages.. had absolutely NO political agenda 🤣 Yeah... no political 70s movies, except for Harold and Maude, Joe, Taxi Driver, Nashville, Pink Flamingos, The Conformist, Death Wish, Black Sunday, The Candidate, The Day of the Jackal, Apocalypse Now. Hardcore, All the Presidents Men, The Conversation, Rolling Thunder, Network... etc etc etc.
So he doesn't have this lazy eye in real life... Just wonder how they managed to get that lazy-eye effect of the main character in the movie 🤔
Excellent film❤
I loved The Illusionist!
Can't wait to see the movie!
Cried like a baby at this movie
Such a beautiful movie. I look for More movies like this in these bizarre times we're living in. Love and decency wins.
Paully G rules
Superb movie !
I wish they would’ve talked a little bit about Billions!
Stephen should have asked Paul how he had the lazy eyes in the movie.
From Europe: Could you please ask Mr. Giamatti, if there will be a John Adams Part II in the future???
Great movie!!
