I loved We could have been friends, my father and I. His writing explains the historical context so well. I need to read more of his books. Thank you for talking about Palestinian authors.
🤞I am also heavily reliant on audiobooks at the mo. Mostly due to the fact that I fall asleep after a couple of pages of physical reading. I (rather selfishly) hope you pass through to the other side of your reading slump soon. I love your reviews and want you to review ALL the books! (No pressure 😆)
I have been in a health related reading slump for 2 years because since I had my 1 COVID in 2022 I get horrific migraines from the eye movement I do during reading and I hate it also can’t afford audiobooks they’re like 40€ and more per book here. Also I have auditory processing disorder and I’m legally deaf (because untreated ear infections as a child and migraines damaged my hearing nerves or something) so hearing is also a problem sometimes 😅 I’ve almost finished the sun eater trials by Aidan Thomas in German and read wood walkers by Katja Brandis also in German. And that was basically it for the last 2-3 months. I’m still on reading some of the Palestinian authors you recommended and also the sand walk book I think? I also read 2 graphic novels moon cakes (queer disabled magic) and nayra and the djinn (queer Palestinian magic)
Missed you Katey! You are inspiring me to try to start reading (physical) books again! I have been in years-long slump. This year I discovered audio books - they are helping me get back into reading (this from someone who read all 1200pp of LofTR in a week as a teen! I'm heading over to you Patreon to check out what you're doing there.
Hey Katey! Comments are off for the videos of yours I was watching but I just found you after I finished Well of Ascension and found your reviews for the Mistborne books and I'm SO happy I found you and am definitely a huge fan now. I've never been more confused and let down by a book series that was SO hyped for me and you felt like the only sane person in the world. I hope you keep making videos because you seem like a brilliant and wonderful person.
Omg I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one! I turned comments off on those videos cos after two years I’m just tired of Sanderfans calling me stupid or telling me to read the Stormlight Archive 😅
I have returned so many half finished library books this year. I feel like maybe I can start getting back into them soon.

Such a great book, I still can’t get over what a skilful writer he is. ❤️🍉

Haha you and me both praying for this slump to end sooooon! 😅
I really liked Terrace Story -- I'm definitely going to get my hands on some of her backlist!
I wish she had more of a backlist to dive in to, such a unique author!
@@KateyOneMoreTime yes!
Oof, when the ahedonia hits me, I drift away from reading too. It sounds like you did have some good times, even during your slump!

Oh my gosh, I’m sorry to hear that! Glad you’ve found some great graphic novels, though - I really liked Nayra and the Djinn, too!
