Where is the guy "Tor Design? I read his comment. MINE IS THE SAME! Tabs that have been sitting there waiting to be used for a while -- and the Chrome HISTORY option ignores THEM because it only restores those tabs I recently opened or closed. My prob and TorDesign is different! HELP, please ROB!!!
@@rayreisler3898 Thanks for commenting! If pres CTRL + H and open up your full history, you should be able to find the tabs you lost as long as you didn't clear your browser history. If you are having a hard time finding the lost tabs in all of your history, try using the search box at the top of your history window. You can put in a search term related to the page you lost and it should find any pages related to that term from your history. Going forward, I recommend using a Bookmarks Folder to save webpages that you want to read or use later. Check out this video for details on how - ruclips.net/video/5U2-Awk0rwk/видео.html
This won't work for me, basically I had to close my Chrome because I simply had to many tabs open and when i reopened them they were in the History bar but I didn't load them yet, and then I think it automatically updated something when I was taking a shower and quit of Chrome. I left the computer open but since I didn't load them the last time they are not showing in the History anymore and I am wondering do you know how I can get those back? It was a lot of information. Thanks.
@@insomb I usually just go through my history and also google history, i use better history extension which is superiror for generic browser history, with times and easy searches cussa the timestamps and dates!

This isn't helpful. I'm guessing most people know where the history button is. The problem is when Google saves a different window and there is no history available for the other tabs you had open. Nothing. And the individual history option just shows everything you opened and closed, not the tabs you had sitting waiting for attention for a period of time.

I've completely lost my bookmarks as well. Does anyone know how to get them back. I mean.. years of bookmarks are gone when I accidentally change from one google account to another. WTH happened?

I had too many tabs opened. AND CHROME crashed and all of them are gone - there were over 100. Now I have no chance to restore them

does not work after some crashes: dos not have anything often in historu or loads only soime tabs (just had about 80 tabs restored off like 500, research lost permanently)
The problem is that Chrome won't remember your tabs from 2 sessions ago or more, and then displays them as individual history from there on out. I wouldn't make the mistake of closing them twice without restoring them again, but another person used the computer and closed all my tabs without notifying me and made that goddamn mistake.
NEVER LET ANY GEEZER GO ON YOUR ACCOUNT N DO THAT shit. My lptop had a few blue screen due to the video driver shit i kept restoring it then after the 3rd time i try it, glitches and bang not there NOW -_-!!! Happened a few times over the years pure torture.
I'm not sure what these below people are doing or NOt DOING, but this worked in the most FABULOUS WAY!!! Chrome use to do this automatically, but then all of a sudden it stopped working!!!! YOUR SOLUTION IS WONDERFUL, PERFECT, EASY AND IT EVEN WORKED WITH CHROME ON MY ANDROID PHONE!!!!! Again, not sure why people below say it doesn't work, but we tried it on a MAC and PC Windows 10/7 and it works great!! THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH!! It definitely helped a great frustration be relieved!! Cheers!!
OH Yeah, BTW, you can also just go to your HISTORY and find the previous Tabs or Web URLs that way as well!! This is a last ditch solution, especially if you had some very important links running. THANKS AGAIN Digital Arts Experience~!
what if we had work that needed to be done, and the tab closed and we lost all of our work. when i restore the tabs, it doesn't restore my work.
this only works if after the tabs get closed you open chrome again without anything else and directly go to the recent tabs section.
otherwise if you search for something else, THAT becomes your history and when you go in recent tabs, THAT is what you see.
My guess is the older tabs get overwritten.
I just found a way to solve this, in case anyone else has the same problem:
- Open your history
- Delete all history up until roughly the point of when you closed the chrome window
- Follow the steps in this video, and you should now see the history reflect the time at which you initially closed it
For the old comments I want to add. When I went to history from the 3 buttons I saw my current history from today. So I scrolled down and saw "47 Tabs" clicked on it and everything came back. I would not have thought to look there because I am not formally trained on this new laptop. THANK YOU to Robs Tech Tip!!!
I know this is in 2020, but when I tried this.. IT WORKED!! I was finally able to restore all me good tabs that I have lost. Thank you so much 😊

Dude, I had 1,600 tabs open and this imbecile chrome closed them all and didn't show them when I turned on my computer again. I had a small heart attack for losing all that but your method helped me a lot!!! I have all my tabs back! Thank you very much!!! :D

Sometimes, restore all tabs doesn´t appear and if more than 10 or whatever the max amount of tabs that crome saves in history that for whatever reason weren´t saved as a group then to this method which I imagine most already know doesn´t help. For example I just accidentally right clicked while also miss clicking (didn´t even know right clicking could select things in drop down menues as I have never tried it) and ended up hitting the close all other tabs. I had a fair few tabs and more than half aren´t on the list which I already knew about. I´m sure this video will help some people but most will already know this or the tabs may not even appear on the list. All the tabs I wanted are the ones I couln´t get back while the ones I wanted to close or could easily find as they where bookmarked/in a youtube playlist were in history. I just wish crome had a better solution for things like this.

Super helpful!!! I have a SurfacePro and for whatever reason, CTRL, Shift and T did NOT work, but reopening Google Chrome, I clicked on the three prongs in the upper right corner, went under history and there they were!!!

it worked for me and i am so grateful for this video, coz i lost about 100 opened tabs that i had been keeping opened for about 2 weeks working with them and were very important to me
my computer crashed(battery problem) - I opened chrome, where you know it has the restore button option as well - but before I could click it my computer crashed again. And after that - there was no restore button and no restore from the history menu - what should I do now? Is there still a way to get back something 2 sessions back?

Never using Chrome again. I unsynced my account with chrome because it was saving things from other accounts to my school account, which then proceeded to delete all my chrome history and bookmarked tabs from my laptop. Never again.

I opened history and below the history tab was something that said “recently closed” and “ctrl + shift + T” but when I press those buttons nothing happens!
Thanks for commenting! The sites you lost should still be listed in your history. Hit ctrl + h and you'll see your full history. There is a search bar at the top, that should help you find the lost tabs.

what if your pc spazzed out and you lost chrome during recovery, then what? yeah nothing, not even a browser extension can save you ffs
how can chrome still be in this state, when are we going to have proper session backup/protection/anything, i want my 70+ tab session back wtf am i supposed to do!!!?
its bad enough that chrome needs to run in the back ground just to even achieve whats in this video, so if your browser, any browser crashes and needs to be ended from task manager, your entire session is screwed
naturally you'd find an extension like "session buddy" but even that doesn't help when your computer cant even boot properly FCUK!!

Computer crashed (power cut) and lost all my pinned tabs even though i hadn't even opened Chrome in this session. For some reason they are not available in the history recovery options.
I lost all my last visited tabs at 0:47 any idea what happened there, I didn't do anything and now they are just gone? The ones below the search bar.
Once they're gone from recent history, -and enough pages were utilised to full the recent history with them, the older tabs are forever gone! (Google chrome/Windows 10)
In the Control + H they do not appear in the Larger list :(
What if this doesn't work? I had multiple open windows, each with multiple tabs, and when I opened my laptop this morning, this process won't work (and I've used the history features often after an update shut down all my window, locating each window and all the tabs for each window.) What a MESS!
