- Ripley is just chock full of strange stories. Poe sold his poem 'The Raven' for ten bucks. A guy hasn't slept for seventy eight years. The french national anthem is german. Plus a great joke about drowning one's wife. Oh, and a guy with an eight inch-long nose. Also dig Robert's snazzy shoes.
I'm so happy there's footage of this historic dude!😊
What a fascinating man who brought fascinating people into the limelight without making them look freakish. I definitely believe it!
he was indeed!
Robert L. Ripley initially created it as a newspaper panel in 1919. By the time this was released, he was already hosting a radio version that appeared in many different formats over the years. Even though Ripley died in 1949, the strip continues to this day...and the ABC TV edition in the '80s (and the TBS version a decade ago) is still on the air SOMEWHERE....
thanks a million time for this can u please upload more
The guy hadn't slept for over 70 years!
Here he is called Albert Herpin, while the New York Times called him "Alfred E. Herpin" in his obituary.
I knew it....I just knew it! Thanks.
The part about Beethoven is true he was legally deff by the time he made his masterpiece. He had his pianos legs taken off so he can put his ear to the ground and pick up the vibrations of each note to make his piece.
