I can tell you now because of Gurkha veterans in Derby I now know enough Nepali and know about their special different food to appreciate it. I went to Nepal last year and stayed with one at his house with him and his family in Kathmandu before going west to Pokhara. Ive seen how high they run and even their winter is a good as our summers. That was after befriending them and seeing them on security where I worked for just over a year. The minority took in the majority. They love the UK fiercely and also Nepal, look around you where Nepalis have settled, they fly the Nepali flag next to the country they moved to with so much pride. I do not think Ive seen this before. They including other Nepalis are so happy I love their country, traditions and food! They are actively happy and welcoming for you to come to their country and enjoy it. Its a tough country and hard compared to the UK, but somehow it all works a bit crazy but you will see amazing things and eat great fresh food and breathe fresh air. Thulo samman Gurkha haru ko laggi, ma Nepal miss garchu
1940 WW2 it was not life changing neither they were well paid .. it was Harsh ,Brutal . and hell fighting in the jungle of Burma ..Always Proud of you what you did .The Man ,The myth ,The Legend ..Bravest of the Brave 2/6(Gurkhas Rifles)..
Nepali people don't join British army for proud, it is only for the better life and salary, It is very shame as a Nepali Government that their citizen fight for other other country, but no one wanted to change it, In the history they are not treated equally and paid equal salary, most of the time deployed in front line, and they are from only 4 cast because they are the four incent pure soul who do not think twice to obey order, yet government ignore these exploitations of the citizen
Where have you got that information 😂 we have equal pay, equal rights and equal facilities - unfortunately the Gurkha’s that finished service for 1996 are not entitled to the full British Army pension yet.
@Welshman007 They are only trained by whoever takes them on as Gurkhas, the selection process to be a Gurkha does not train them. Besides which only British, Indian and Singaporean governments take them on.
The ones in Russia are just some random Nepalese. It’s the relentless training, the camaraderie, the discipline instilled through rigorous drills, and the unbreakable bonds formed through shared hardships that truly define a Gurkha soldier. Being a Gurkha is a brand in itself which you can’t get it joining the Russians.

Selection was unfair totally 😅
Selection is fair
Jai bir Gurkhas
Jay gorkha
Britain has been exploiting Nepali British Army for 200 years with less money and facilities. Is there democracy in your country?

Russia has its own set of Gurkhas . Seems we aren’t the only ones .
but not a professional highly trained one.
@ they are. All Gurkhas are the same . Well trained .

@ that’s what you think . Remember we are not the only ones . That’s being ignorant . That’s how you lose 🙏🏴🫡
