    For my money, Gillen is one of the best writers working today. Love his style. However he started out, I tend to think of Thanos how Cates and someone, somewhere else described him ( honestly cannot remember, I wanna say The End? ), a universal constant. Regardless, I don't think he'd be welcome on Krakoa and even if he was, I don't see why he'd ever wanna go there unless it was to just straight up murder the whole island.

    While I can see the thought process that would allow Thanos to be welcome on Krakoa, I just don’t see it fitting the character or the character of the X-men. Especially given Cyclops dedication to revitalizing the “Heroic” aspect of mutants. It’d make for some great tension in a book I suppose but the issue is still giving him a solid BELIEVABLE reason to be there.

      It’s not impossible to bring Thanos in but the amount of work to do it organically and believably is greater than who you mentioned for obvious reasons. It almost feels like you’d have to dumb down the scope and scale of Thanos to give him to the X-men.

    • @bae_ofpigz
      @bae_ofpigz 3 года назад +1

      @@Kiteshade I'm just saying that he would get an invite. His crimes are bigger but no more heinous than sinister's. While he hasn't been directly involved before, I think that he's got as much claim to krakoan citizenship as do warlock or broo... whether or not he would ever abide to the laws are another matter altogether. But, I could see storm in the cosmos offering an olive branch.

    Eternals lore is thoroughly established. Thanos is not a "Mutant". He has the deviant gene or throw back traits that are still found in some Eternals. This is also the case for Deathbird of the Shi'ar and sister to the late and former Empress of the Shi'ar Empire Lilandra Nermani. Deathbird differs from Lilandra and the rest of her race as she was born with wings on her arms. This is a genetic trait of ancient Shi'ar.

    Love the whole Mutant theory!
    Is it possible that Zuras may have tampered with the machine in an attempt to rewrite the Titan Eternals out of their own history/lore? From the looks of the info pages, the Eternals seem to be categorized in a certain way, and now the Earths Prime Eternal is dead. Zuras has stepped outside his boundaries before IIRC...

    I don't think alien mutants count unless they have some special relationship with the X-men . Kinda like Cable from the Phalanx i think he is called from the New Mutants. Otherwise galactic spacefarers don't really take note of such things as with a galactic variety among the stars of sentients mutants would just blend in. In fact it is stated the mutant xgene is actually alien powers merged with human DNA . Thus for every mutant that exists thousands of years ago an alien with the same features and powers existed somewhere in space. I can conclude then that every mutant has a alien counterpart that they are meant to infiltrate.

      "Cable from the Phalanx" .... whoops! You got two characters mixed up. and totally missed the alien race.
      The alien mutant in the New Mutants is Warlock and his race is the Technarch. But here it's understanding to mix up the races as the Phalanx was an offshoot of the Technarch.
      Cable is the son of Cyclops that was taken to the future, aged to an old man there, returned to this time, eventually killed by a younger version of himself who is currently living on Krakoa.

    In Marvel comics, Mutants are not the result of any mutation. Mutants specifically have an X-gene. But a mutation can come from another gene. Any gene that differs from the genetic pool constitutes a mutation but Mutants are born with one specific "different" gene, the X-gene. Therefore, Thanos is not a Mutant (but is a mutant) which would eliminate him for citizenship on Krakoa. But there are others on Krakoa that are not Mutants. That's the case of Warlock, Broo, Shogo and the husband of Northstar whose name I don't remember right now.
    But, honestly, Imo I'm not very interested in seeing Thanos on Krakoa, it would just muddle the waters.

    Dumb question and weird tangent since we have mutant Brood and maybe mutant Eternals... are the Inhumans possibly "mutants?" I know their comics history has them primarily not mutants and just genetically modified, but thinking from a broader perspective with what's going on in Wandavision, does it sound too far fetched to see Inhumans adopted into the mutant family to easily introduce Ms. Marvel without attaching her to S.H.I.E.L.D. and that other show?

    Lockheed is considered a Mutant of his race because he didn't inherite the blood lusting need to kill his father Magnus. This behavior is normal for his race and he was an outcast because of this fact. This made him a Mutant.

    Thanos is the ultimate expression of human "ugliness" so yes he is an collective of all 3 offshoots of humanity (Eternal, Deviant and mutant) but doesn't belong wholly to any one of them. He's a cosmic, magical mutant cyborg devaint eternal human from outer space. He's the human urge to kill and destroy. Hence the name, hence the godlike status.
    Skrulls as we see them are actually the Deviant strain of the Skrull race. They wiped out the Eternal, mutant and baseline Skrull race (although Xavier did find Skrull mutants at one point). That's the connection with the chin.
    Where is Sabretooth again? Yeah so I doubt Thanos is welcome on Krakoa. Not even possible future Galactic Krakoa. He already killed half of all mutants before. Sabretooth cant touch those numbers.
