it's mostly progesterone that decreases first in perimenopause but Ur estrogen or estodiol as thy call it fluctuates to high and low in perimenopause..so both hormones are playing up and decreasing and all over the place.

I am 53 with regular periods but my estrogen is 400 so my doctor is sending me to do and ultra sound on my ovaries wat does this mesn?

It means just that. I actually had one today which ruled anything major which only leaves perimenopause. They want to see if something else is causing these levels or if it’s just menopause.

it means u need hormone replacement.. perimenopause can take hormones replacement..drs just palm u off with a stupid scan then send u on Ur way...if woman are in perimenopause we are more at risk of diseases that's why the reason for scan..witch is stupid because in six months time we can end up with something wrong with our ovaries

Yes I sure did. You are more at risk due to irregular menstrual cycle, like missed periods. We find out later though because we tend to think that we are just missing a period
