I remember in my childhood, people used to work in Punjab from Bihar but when they used to return to Bihar, they used to say : Apne desh ko ja rahe hai. Even some Punjabi poets in history wrote term: ‘ Des Punjab ‘ in their peoms. So, look like Des is an emotional form. Regards
