The GI and respiratory playlist are so amazing! I was really confused in my med surg class, and now I feel like a have a good understanding, thank you :)
Your videos are so direct and to the point. It really focuses on the subject which is literally perfect. There is so much information out there on the diseases we learn through nursing school. its nice to just get to the point and focus on whats important. So thank you so much for these videos
Yes, very helpful video. Thank you for also adding in that it's good to reduce stress "if possible." As we all know this is sometimes not always possible to do quickly easily so that needs to be addressed over time. Other lifestyle changes like sleep and diet are essential as discussed. Very well done!
I can’t thank you enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I just want you to know you’re one of those people for my success to my nursing program. I graduated 08/21 . Took my NCLEX exam September 30th pass with my first trying with 77 questions which about 45 days . In those forty five day I sped 6 hours every day to study. I watched many for your videos throughout the school year and during preparation. Thank you so million .
That is amazing! Congratulations on passing and for your incredible dedication! Please shoot us an email at support@leveluprn.com so we can celebrate your achievement!
What makes gastritis and PUDs worse? These are amazing videos. I just started using them along with my flashcards and I understand so much more than I normally pick up in class!! Thank you!!
That is SO wonderful to hear!! Thank you for your incredibly kind comment. Things that can make symptoms of gastritis and PUD worse include spicy foods, fried foods, acidic foods, caffeine, alcohol, and NSAIDs.👍
It was helpful to know the difference between gastric ulcers typically presenting pain 20 minutes after eating and duodenal ulcers usually presenting 2 or 3 hours after eating. If a patient has pain ONLY after eating but not persistently throughout the day or night, could is still be an ulcer, or does that point to it more likely being something else?
I have been suffering from severe chest pain and back pain. It was digonised that I was having H. Pylori Last November 2021. I took the antibiotics for that. Still my chest pain and back pain has not gone. My pain become severe at night and could not wake up properly in the morning. Therefore please suggest me the wayforward.
I've had peptic ulcers related to an H pylori infection a couple of years ago and it definitely wasn't a pleasant experience being nauseated when I ingested certain trigger foods. Fortunately I was able to successfully treat the infection with the standard course of antibiotics and a PPI but I've since been left with chronic reflux which flares up from time to time. I had to undergo a right hemicolectomy almost a year ago because colon polyps were discovered during the colonoscopy that was performed in an effort to diagnose the initial problem that led to my chronic nausea and vomiting in the first place so at least something positive came out of having the infection and having to suffer from all that misery for so long because had I never had the infection to begin with I might never have seen the need to undergo the colonoscopy in the first place.
So when we eat food it irritates the gastric ulcer hence it WORSENS WITH FOOD and after eating the food it mops up some acid that doesn’t goes to the duodenum hence it IMPROVES WITH FOOD
So I think I have either PUD or gastritis. I have an H Pylori infection. I took antibiotics at least once a year throughout my childhood. I have chronic stress. I have blood in stool. The one symptom I can’t make sense of is a bulge in my epigastric region (center of upper abdomen, right in the middle of my lower rib cage in the soft area). I haven’t come across anyone IRL or URL who can make sense of this bulge. It is sometimes painful usually a few hours after eating, but is only painful if I press on it. Can someone help make sense of this symptom!
Melena doesn't mean bloody stool though it's an indicative that there is blood on the stool. Melena is characterized by BLACK TARRY STOOL. It's black because of hemoglobin and iron.
Mam I am from Karachi Pakistan I thought only we have this stupid disease in our country due to un hyenic but your country is also suffering with this.Ahmad from karachi.

Thank you!!! I graduate December 2025!! Someone remind me after then 😊
Dr what is treatment pud deasse
Is a a Gastric ulcer same as peptic ulcer .
Why is the gastric ulcer more painful with food, yet the duodenum ulcer is more painful WOTHOUT food??? That doesn’t make sense to me.
So when we eat food it irritates the gastric ulcer hence it WORSENS WITH FOOD and after eating the food it mops up some acid that doesn’t goes to the duodenum hence it IMPROVES WITH FOOD
Nsaids are recommended for gastritis? I think that's a mistake 🤓
Ofc not recommended, it's the risk factor.
👍👍

Don’t worry you can cure 100%
hemoglobin in the stool means its bloody…
Incorrect. Melina DOES mean bloody stool.
It refers to the black, tarry stool that comes from bleeding that’s UGI. Black stool is a sign of older blood in your stool
Blood in the stool may indicate an intestinal bleed
