    You choose interesting and challenging things to try and experiment with. I like that you keep the pace at a good level and that when you use typed commands (especially the linux stuff) you try to explain what the parameters are about so that we start to understand how the line is constructed rather than it being just a whole load of blah blah letters and numbers. Please keep going on that path, it is soooo useful and a very rare skill !
    Have you watched some of your first videos again? Your confidence and presentation skills have come on so much. Well done !

    Hi Chris, I have a couple of questions concerning this one. Octoprint is always in safemode and says plugins will be disabled (this is fixed by rebooting octoprint a couple of times). The only issue I still have is the following, so in settings when I test stream everything works well, same for snapchat. When I print a file I can see that the camera is timelapsing as it should. The problem I still have is that I can't see the camera footage in the "control" tab? Any ideas what might be wrong? And thanks alot man, you've brought me so much further than I ever thought :) + troubleshooting has learned me it all works perfect in firefox, not in chrome.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  4 года назад +1

      Most of the time this is caused by a browser issue. Delete all your cookies and it should start working again or try a different browser. If it is testing ok, this is about the only thing it could be.

    Hi Chris,
    The vast majority of these things go way over my head, however I still love watching them as I take in information very slowly, and the more I tend to watch something it slowly starts to sink in a click, plus, the way in which you teach really helps a huge amount, as I have said before, I really wish I had teachers like you when I was in school...
    A quick question if I may please, with you using ip addresses, can you use these from anywhere in the world or are they just run by your own network...
    Again, thank you so much for both your time and sharing your knowledge as well as making learning fun again...
    All the very best...
    John...

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  5 лет назад

      Thanks again, John. You can run this from anywhere, you just need a router to route the traffic and there are some security concerns with doing that. The safest way would be to create a VPN to talk over.

    For me, in order to allow me to see my webcam feed on another computer with Octoprint, I had to whitelist "yawcam_service.exe" on my firewall. If I didn't, I could see the feed on the host computer, but on my other laptop on the same network, it didn't show (and was driving me insane as I though I had messed the install and setup up)

    This is nut's ! 25 min video to get a camera to work through octoprint. Great turtorial btw, but shouldnt it be simple being that watching your print is as important as the print itself ?. Has this proccess got any better in 4 years ?if it has im missing it. Poor effort on octoprints development side.

      Thanks! I do have a new video, but it really hasn't changed much. Windows makes it really had to utilize python based projects like Octoprint. ruclips.net/video/T3GImtrLVjY/видео.html

    Good content and tips Chris! I have Logitech C270 like you but can't get YawCam v0.6.2 & v.0.6.1 to work. v0.6.0 do the trick!

    Its a year late but was just following your video and found the link to the FFMPEG encoder broken. I was able to find another one through the use of Git since its a different process. Get into OctoPrint virtualenv. Git clone (github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg.git). Then the process is basically the same except you use (C:\OctoPrint\ffmpeg\fftools\ffmpeg.c) in FFMPEG location. Also need to enable FTP in YawCam. (Hope this helps any late comers. )

      Oh yeah I believe I added a environment variable of ffmpeg.c ---> (location of ffmpeg.c). *Not sure if this is a fix or does anything. FYI*

      Oh after 'git clone' do a 'pip install ffmpeg'

      @@ChrisRiley No problem. Might want to check the ffmpeg part. Im getting rendering errors after the fact. Ill get back with a fix if you havent found one by then.
