Hey, I'd definitely like to do it still but unfortunately I can safely say that specific video won't be coming out any time soomn I'm afraid. Please let me know if I can help at all.
I believe you just need to find that file in the folder on your computer, however it's been a while since I've run Octoprint on Windows and it's never been a daily driver for me as I generally run it on Pi's. I'll try and remind myself.
I'm assuming that if you're comfortable editing a file directly on the RPi using a remote connection and nano or vi, you could do the same thing without removing the SD card. Correct?
Yeah absolutely, you could make these changes via SSH, but I wanted to make a quick and super simple tutorial for people who are new to the game and didn't want them to be intimidated by the prospect of something like putty (even though it's really simple). Perhaps I'll do a follow up video showing how you can do it via SSH.
What if you use another SBC like an Orange Pi and octopi.txt doesn't exist? I've been scouring the internet for a solution but have yet to find an answer.
Hi Raze , I've not run an installation on an Orange Pi before, however, my understanding is you have a few options. Firstly, if the webcam isn't working for you at all, and it's not just a resolution/aspect ratio issue, then you likely need to install MJPG-streamer as well to enable it. If however it is working but it's only showing up as 640x480, you can create the octopi.txt file yourself, entering just the relevant information I mention in the video, and save it to the root directory. Do let me know if that helps or if you're still having issues.
Thank you for showing me the easiest way for change the input 👍
Not a problem, glad it helped!
This is way easier than I thought it should be
Glad it was helpful.
I've been wondering how to do this forever. Thank you!
You're welcome, happy printing!
@@3DRevolution That did the trick. Thank you again!
Hey! Great video, thanks for this. Is the video about different camera's coming out or is that cancelled?

how do you do this on Octoprint for windows? I can't "remove the sd card" to view the files

That simple huh! All this time and I never knew 😂
Haha yeah. Even though I knew how to do it, I too way to long to make the change when I set up my latest OctoPrint server, due to pure laziness lol
camera="usb" does not exist
I popped a reply to your other comment
It turns out that no guide told me that I had to update by putty, to update an option and enable the camera in Custom Image Preferences
either I didn't see it or the videos are very long, but in the end I found the problem in a video in Spanish
camera= does not exist
Sorry you're having issues, could you better explain what is happening for you?
