I have watched these uploads out of order. And I can’t believe the kit handles that well. The most simplistic design, and fit out. You have a convert here Mark. Stay safe and well 👍🤓🇦🇺
Thanks, Paul, I'm just grateful that you watched them! Yeah, for such a basic layout, it's surprisingly agile! I'm very glad to have it in my collection and will definitely choose it to take for a run over some of my other cars! Take care, too, my friend! :O)
Great build video Mark , I like how you show the step by step process so if someone is having trouble with something chances are your video will get then through it.
Thanks a ton, Eric! Yeah, when I make these build guides, I try to imagine that the viewer has lost the build manual and explain each process. I really appreciate your comment - cheers! 👍
Thanks, my mate! Well, I got a lot of spare time as I'm still on sick leave, stuck in the house :-/ At least these builds keep me occupied. Definitely enjoying my non-Birthday presents! And the cockpit will be more of a cover than a real cockpit. I need to find a driver with some arms!!! All the best, my good friend. 👍
10:46 "Easier said than done."..🤣 - too right mate. Oh how I've struggled with that particular fitting over the years, but a great feeling when you feel those screws bite. Glad you did a build video of this one as it brings back memories from 2004 when I built mine ( long since gone. ) As you'll know back then mine came with a MSC and needed an extra servo. I'm so glad Tamiya brough in ESC's shortly thereafter. I was genuinely surprised when you started building the shocks as I have absolutely no recollection of doing oil filled shocks on mine. Memory must be going..🙄. Thanks for the memories dude and cannot wait to see this one completed and running. #blackbeauty....cue the music...👍🏻👍🏻.
Hey mate - yeah, a lot in this hobby is easier said than done! I find brushless motors ever harder to fit as they don't have that collar near the spindle. Oh those MSC's - I loved the way you could go from full forward throttle to full reverse in a fraction of a second! Probably didn't do the car much good though! But modern ESC's sure give a lot more control. On the shock front, I think the oil shocks are part of the special edition features. Could be wrong! Thanks for taking the time to write all these interesting messages, always a pleasure, mate! :)
@@MarkBryanRC Cheers for the info about the oil shocks Mark. I just looked into it and yeah, the original didn't have them. I wondered why I had no recollection of them. Memory intact - phew..😎🤣.
Well mate, I think your memory is functioning better than mine these days! TBH I don't think the oil shocks will make much difference, especially at the rear as it seems to be almost rigid! :O)
Just watched this as mine arrived just before the weekend and I can't wait to get started on it. Servo, receiver & a Torque turned motor have also arrived. I ordered my kit with bearings so hopefully I'll get it started this week... 👍
I admittedly ordered this kit when it was offered, really glad that it doesn't come with yellow shocks. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to start building mine.
Enjoy it, John! Yeah, this buggy looks awesome with the grey shocks and the black body - but those shiny stickers are hard work to cut out without getting blinded! All the best from Mark... :)
Quick tip, you can put Tamiya Anti Wear Grease on the spider gears inside the diff to make it limited slip, you can do this to all Tamiya gear diffs for better performance 👍
Great tip! I use the AW grease on my rally car diffs and it works well - was tempted to do it on this one, but went with normal grease, can always change it later! All the best from Mark... :)
Great little video mate, really enjoyed it. I've seen a few build videos for this buggy, loved how your one was nice and close up. I've just finished building a 3Racing Mini MG Evo chassis, all finished apart from having no 48DP pinions! Look forward to the next part of the build!!
Thanks - Glad you enjoyed it Barry! Yeah, I try to zoom in on the parts where I can. I try to show the build so you could follow along without the manual. That Chassis of yours sounds so cool - good luck with the pinions! Cheers! :))
Hiya matey. This was a lovely treat before dinner 😁 Looks like a nice simple build but always room for some Mark Bryan top tips along the way. I think that your plan for a cockpit looks very nice. Should be a fun one to race around the trees with Rob when you can get out. I've been carrying on with the Wild Willy build today. Mainly finished but a few bits to do and a load of editing. Anyway fish and chips in the oven and I needs to get the beans on the go. Enjoy your Saturday mate. Look after yourself 😁
Hiya Pete - glad you watched and thought it was a treat, only that can be said by a true Tamiya fan! I'm the same, I can relax to a nice RC build video too! Yes, this buggy will be good for a few little races, against a Rising Fighter, I think could be fun. Especially as our RF's are hopped-up, should be a close thing. Wow, I love a bit of fish & chips - lots of salt and vinegar for me please! Hope all is good with you down South - take it easy, mate! :)
Cheers, Mick! Well, it will be more of a chassis cover than a cockpit when I get it sorted! I got the body stickered up and it looks lovely! I don't think it comes across on camera just how good it looks - and man, cutting those stickers out nearly blinded me! Have fun, mate! :))
@@MarkBryanRC Yeah that's cool, I just noticed the steering wheel drawn on and figured you were going a full cockpit. It will look much better not seeing the guts of the car through the windows though. Yes I agree, they don't look quite so good on camera. Oh me too mate, I couldn't focus on stickers at all. I ended up just slicing and praying lol. You too mate! 🙂👍
Hi Mark i love your videos! I got a tmayia terrer schorcher for christmas last year. It has been used quite a lot is dirty. The gear box seams to be sounding weard too. Would the car be needing a re greaseing and rebuild? Is it ok to take the gear box apart? Would the suspension be needing re olied because it seams to be leaking out. Is it ok to strip aprt your rc car or is that bad for it? Thanks
Hi Jamie, as I said in my other reply, it is good to rebuild a kit after a lot of use. However, if there is a concern, like a strange noise, I'd definitely strip it down to investigate. Just be careful to find the threads when re-inserting the screws, you can do this by "backscrewing" - very slowly turn the screw the wrong way until you feel the thread click into place and then screw in normally. If the suspension is leaking, also take off the shock caps and top up with oil. Hope this helps - cheers!
Glad to see that you're feeling better and making a build video of your early birthday present from Carmine. It's the same as the Mad Bull kit except for the wheels and Body. A brilliant easy 1st time kit to build 😎
