I always thought if someone took nods from the fly and made the transformation process into a way slower burn where the infected interacted with the family or whomever and those interactions became more and more bizarre you could really build tension when combining with the wolfman lore. Possible this is happening here. 😊
@daltonmoen1404 It's an awesome movie. You can't beat a good Werewolf movie. An American Werewolf in London is such an amazing movie too. I'm hoping this will be worth the watch, but you should also check out the trailer for Frank Grillo's new movie which is simply called "Werewolves" It looks decent enough.
I'm a universal monsters fan too. This has nothing to do with that besides showing they were not creative enough to come up with a different name for a werewolf film.
I wish more werewolves in movies were portrayed like the one from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban or from WER (2013). A thinner, tall, sinewy figure with fur that only covers certain parts of the body, and a body that still shows some human features. For me, the best werewolf design would be a mix between the one from Harry Potter, the Wendigo from Until Dawn, and the werewolf from The Quarry. Lately, in every werewolf movie, the werewolf is depicted as a big furry ball that resembles a large bear or a bigger wolf. A werewolf should be a mix of human and wolf, but in most werewolf movies, the animalistic wolf part dominates over the human one. In my opinion, a werewolf should be portrayed as something unnatural, something that definitely doesn't fit into the world around us, so no one should ever mistake it for a large bear or a wolf. Hopefully, we'll get to see such a portrayal one day.
Wer was an excellent movie, and really clever way to depict an updated and more mundane werewolf story. I'm with you on the man/animal blend. I was brought up on the reissued Universal Monster Movies from the 90's and always had an appreciation for Lon Chaney Jr.'s look when he transforms. Benicia Del Toro's is probably my favorite depiction. You should check out the old Hammer Horror film Curse of the Werewolf--it similarly shows that un-natural man-beast mix.

The trailer looked good but I would change the Werewolf design (Because for that split second we saw it it looked like a man in a werewolf costume) change it more akin to the design in An American Werewolf in London (1981), to me that is the very best practical werewolf effects ever put to screen.

But I am not a huge fan of this one to be honest. And I'm kind of iffy on the design for this one... Let's see what you got cooking Blumhouse, Hopefully it's not a stinker
What I dig about this is how it seems like this “wolf man” is a slow disease that cause a person to devolve as they transform. It seems like they lose hair on their head and the ability to function normally and possibly losing the ability to speak and understand what others are saying. I could be wrong too but I’m wondering if the shirtless werewolf in the kitchen is the husband of the other wolf man. Probably the Dad but I also don’t want to assume.
@@melanieparker I'm sure but she seems to play that one dimensional character. Trailer didn't show too much and I hope it's good, but it's also Blumhouse. Really hope they don't play it safe with a PG-13 horror flick.

@Bowserguy62 it might, but I think it's more of a reboot. Like instead of Jack Griffin drinking to potion to turn invisible, it's a stalker in an invisible camouflage suit trying to mentally break the protagonist

Most movies shot on digital look that way, to me at least. After more than 20 years of digital, it still looks cheap much of the time. And then there's the teal color grading, and so on. Every time I see an older film on TV, it's night and day in terms of cinematic quality. All that stopped back around 2008 ish.
