Just so no-one is confused, here are the facts about the Dawg thing: - Dawg is banned from mod.io. - XXLMod (or any other mods) are NOT banned from being used, I don't know who pulled this rumor out their butt. You can use all mods. - A cease and desist was threatened but NOT actually issued. - Dawg did not frame things wrong, he did not twist things against Easy Day. That is quite the opposite. Easy Day twisted it on Dawg. - Dawg is not making money off of Easy Day's IP as Easy Day incorrectly claimed. Dawg's mods are 100% his own creation and do not come with any skater xl files so he is allowed to sell them if he wants. - Dawg is not selling mods however and Easy Day incorrectly claimed he was selling them. All of his mods are available for free by default. But if you want access to experimental builds of his mods, you can support him on Patreon. That isn't "selling" to me. This whole situation is just Easy Day poorly handling someone joking about how they work on the game. And Dawg decided he didn't want to work on mods anymore if Easy Day is going to treat him this way.
Also I didn't know about the emoji on Dawg's discord and I'm in his Patreon Discord. That's kinda not cool, but I still support Dawg. Dawg should probs remove the emoji though. I hope they both resolve this beef and we can move forward productively. I've been following this situation since the start and I guess I'm a stickler for providing correct info on what's happening, so that's why I posted this comment.
"Dawg is not selling mods however and Easy Day incorrectly claimed he was selling them. All of his mods are available for free by default. But if you want access to experimental builds of his mods, you can support him on Patreon. That isn't "selling" to me" Spot on. That's almost word for word what I told my homie last night. Glad someone else sees that too
@@randomuploaderguy Just so you know, the emoji is Dain holding up a peace sign with a speech bubble that says “easy.” I don’t see how that’s “not cool.”
The only thing more immature than making fun of someone online is the person getting made fun of threatening "I'll destroy your life for being mean to me". This isn't an easy day studios issue, it's an ego issue. But easy day is going to end up suffering the most sadly.
Easy Day needs to put the pipe down and make a game the community wants. How can they not add sliders in for gravity pop etc when every skater is different in real life. Doesn't make sense to me. They want it to be the best skateboard simulator without anything other simulators have.
They're stubborn and proud (in a bad way). They think they have to build the game how they want so they ignore what their paying customers need. I lost hope a long time ago, especially after their reaction to the community's petition. Screw them. I really hope Session devs keep improving the mechanics so they feel smooth and organic. If they achieve that it's game over for SXL.
@pervert that wont be out for years though. They literally only made a cheap lil video of 2 guys saying "skate 4 is being made" only to take steam from skate XL and session. They did that right when both were released. It's probably going to have micro transactions and loot boxes too lmao
@pervert, only if EA for some reason decides to build a skate sim, which I really doubt. Otherwise, they will have different audiences and Session will still have its dedicated niche.
I think that's the big takeaway from this situation, at the end of the day no matter how much work you put into mods you'll always be at arms length from the studio as a modder. I feel the same about some fallout mods, if you're gonna spend the time anyways just make a better game, he could get backing easily and probably blow this game out of the water
Too difficult, that is why he is doing mods. We love him for the mods and he is amazing at it, but everyone here is just casually underselling how hard it is to build a game from the ground up.
They most level headed response I’ve heard on this topic. In my opinion, I don’t know if SXL can recover from this. It seems a lot of people have jumped ship already
I'm on xbox and I play Session way more than sxl. Even when Session was broken for a while I always played session more. Skater XL had potential but at this point they blew it. Session is waaayyyy earlier in development but they literally have twice the content that skater xl has. Imagine when Session is fully out
@@themadman6667 the word "sim" can only be used very lightly for this game unless its modded. Without the mods this game is a boring piece of trash lmao. You float around like you're skating on the moon
@@joeytilbury3400 skater XL has a better foundation for realism then session does. The original developer for skater XL focused on physics and controls ONLY before the game came to steam. Wanna know what session devs did? They created a skateboarding game filled with animations and placeholders. When you build a house, you don't start from the top. You build your foundation 1st. Skater XL dev did that. Session devs did not. Now in the future when the game officially releases, we'll see all those problems that come with it BECAUSE its foundation is not there or correct. And before you reply, I want you to know the truth about skater XL. Skater XL was made easier because the group that picked up the lead dev and his game wanted most people to enjoy playing it. The reason why it destroys session when you mod it is because of its foundation. The lead dev actually left the studio because the head of the studio didn't allow him to create a simulator. The entire plan was a sim before easy day ever got involved. Session doesn't have a realistic foundation because they focused on other things and not the physics. If you implement physics and a simulated catching system then you don't have to program an impossible into the game, it'll just be possible, based on feet control. You wouldn't have to program a primo into the game because the physics in the game would just allow it to be so. Skater XL doesn't have primos programmed into the game, yet you can still do them, due to physics ☝ So don't tell me session has a better foundation because they don't.
Really disappointed in „easy days“… However i think this is a huge chance for Session as their Sales probably rose lately which may lead to Crea-ture working even harder on their game!
@@Zyriann i Refunded this game 2 because i think it wasnt worth buying because of the shady devs. But since i found mods to fix my main issues with the game i decided to get it on the summer sale. Lmao... I shouldnt had bought it
Just checked and mine are still there working as intended. Milky also says a bunch of times in this video they aren't gonna be able to ban the mods. Pretty good watch tbh
watch the effin video, dude... and all the morons liking the comment should watch it, too! SXL will be working just as before and is the same game we all love. like Milky said, neither the game, nor the mods will go anywhere.

@@b00phgaming97 I'm not gonna lie, Session is REALLY fun right now. The game really only needs slightly better physics and animations and it's a fucking awesome game. And it’s not illegal or even unusual for a modder to accept patreon funding for mods that are free to access. Dain’s argument that Dawg is someone scraping off of Easy Day is just pettiness. Dawg with his mods has been arguably the person most responsible for keeping the community interested in this game. ED needed Dawg way more than he needed them.
@@dv8754 This never would've happened if the disrespect towards the devs and Dain never started. The immaturity levels shot through the roof and no one was there to moderate and say enough is enough, so Dain finally snapped and rightfully so.

There's always session. No mods needed. When session goes full release the modding community will go insane. Can't wait to see what dawg does for session.
He isn't going to. Session mods use is C# he is a master in C++ and it is backwards to go from C++ TO # FOR him, his words.. This is an example of how little people actually know about the situation and how the 2 games work with mods. Dawg said he will not be learning C#. He doesn't need XL, we need Dawg, that is fact. Also Session is the most expensive pre alpha game ever released (fact) and until the animation update comes it looks like the stats are irrelevant as the range of motion from the place holder animations are just "pre alpha" and so unrealistic in a lot of scenarios, not to mention the delay in the controls. I beat you in 4 weeks all the so called Session converts changing their IG names to .se and .fs will go back to XL as soon as there is one positive step or just remember that we have all we need to play XL on PC . @@stillmilky it appears he’s very passionate at making as much money as possible by charging people like $50 AUD. I played over a thousand hours because of the mods - Easy Day are sleeping and need to communicate period. Banning DAWG is a huge leap in the wrong direction, not even just in terms of gameplay but just another example of terrible communication and just general immaturity. Milky’s gotta be neutral though, don’t want to damage Easy Day’s ego and get him and everything else that’s good about the game banned lmao. I’m very passionate for this game and don’t want it to die. Hope y’all are chilling
@@stillmilky thats kinda what I mean though. It’s a year after release and we still know no more about his “vision” than we did then. Only that it doesn’t include the features the community want the most. I can accept that Easy Day has a vision that is different from the community’s… if we had any idea what that vision was. It makes it so hard to trust them and stay positive. It’s just… bewildering.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to develop a game? If you seriously think for one second that he isn't passionate about making the game, you are just thinking with emotions. Blaming him for other stuff is fair, but its absurd to suggest that he doesn't care about the game.
The outsourcing is because of the Devs that have left, from my understanding. The skate scene here knows Dain kinda, he is a petty guy at best but not one that seemed so stupid to do this, I really do believe the immature hate that he received for the last year made him say F*** the community. I disagree with him but I also think the way people have dealt with him is pathetic and childish, in these situations you have to be the bigger person or it becomes about the name calling instead of the core issues, calmer heads prevail. That hate/teasing/mocking is a part of Skate culture though, I skated for 25years and we were memeing more than a decade before the word was used commonly, we definitely can be the most caring and most toxic bunch out imho.. Dain is not a skater and ultimately that is the biggest difference imo. A lifetime skater would not do what he chose to, just a thin skinned, petty man who is blurred by his own vision. ✌
I’ve literally have stops playing skater XL on Consol because there’s nothing to do I literally just deleted the game and like when it came out July I pre-ordered it such a big mistake I thought the community and the actual creators were going to work together to make something amazing for skateboarding not drama
DAWG has a small patreon that I think we as consumers can all agree is reasonably affordable and acceptable to have that considering the effort he’s put in to making this passionateless game really shine. Meanwhile Easy Day charging like $60 AUD for people to pop to the moon yeah great thanks Dane.
There wouldn't be no need for modders if the studio would do what the players wanted. They stick to their "bigger plan" which is: 1. Don't give any information or news 2. Gravity is fine 3. You don't need stats, cause everyone ollies 1,5 meters with high pop 4. Also we are the best and most realistic simulator 5. We know better 6. You can only wear hats if you are bald
@@ziggylarkdust the ends doesn't justify the means though. Why would anyone spend hours working on a project for a fraction of the profit they could've made? We lost $40 but they lost so much time & energy its not even funny.
I'm strictly a console player. The moment Easy day said there will be no stats menu I went straight to Session. Sorry Skater XL feels like a shell of a game. Absolutely no updates from the developer and I'm completely over it.
Listen I will never talk bad about Easy Day because they made the platform, but Dawg made this game what it is today. No one eats cake for the breading, we eat cake for the icing.
Without dawg/the ability to change gravity and other things I would've never bought the game and a lot of others probably feel the same way. Too bad easy day can't see it that way
lots of people including me prefer the more grounded gameplay of session. And remember that Skater XL without mods has moon gravity so I don't know what good decision Easy Day took, you might mean Dawg took the decision to make a better gameplay.
i disagree. i dont think this kind of math works. just because 1 game is essentially dead, it doesnt mean the other game becomes actually playable or fun. when session actually becomes fun then we'll see the shift. instead of streamers only playing skater xl everyday, they'll play session every time. steam charts is also a good way to see what is preferred on pc as well. i dont know about console but im assuming most people just dont play any skateboarding game at all anymore. i just cant see the majority of the community enjoying session more than xl on pc or console. i think they realize skater xl on console will never be fixed so they just stop playing it and wait for skate 4.

Good lookin' out Milky! Cool to hear you remain humble despite this unfortunate situation. All of us at 116 Skateboards are hoping this problem will be resolved....We need both Easy Day and Dawgvinci to make this thing happen....Let's hope that the progression doesn't stop here....G....
Thank you for presenting the balanced true story. Been trying to tell people on reddit all weekend but the narrative has spiralled out of control and all the users who were already angry about the game seem happy to pretend that mods are being banned so that they can start sharpening their pitch forks. I honestly think they've both been pretty immature and hope the situation can be resolved!
I mean, shit. I made a video myself a couple weeks ago about the topic, the NEXT DAY this shit happens. Almost feel a formal apology is in order, but at the same time I don't whatsoever. The lack of communication is almost inexcusable. The harassment is as well, bad play on both sides I believe. Sure, the community loves this game and wants it to thrive, but no overreaction is necessary. If these people could WORK TOGETHER like goddamn human beings, we could have a totally awesome game on both console AND PC.
Very well put. They said on JL Nightmarre's video that they will communicate about it. I really hope that they come up at least with some info on what they want the game to be... I really don't understand how they can continue to handle things the way they do. So much drama could be avoided.
It will happen soon. When companies build undesirable products and make customers unhappy, sales go down and they have to discontinue development because it becomes unsustainable.
It's a good game. I like they control style to it, almost like Skate but better but not really better if that makes sense. No lie.. I was looking forward to a story of some sort to it. As I said, I like it and see potential I think, but it feels directionless. Hopefully we either get some sort of campaign or maybe another challenge mode. It's intricate with the tricks kinda, but it gets mind numbing for me after a bit. Haha. Anyways, hope everyone is enjoying the multiplayer.
I love xl and dawg has done a lot for the game yes but he's the one that ultimately gave up on modding. They gave him the option to say sorry and dissolve the situation. Seeing how dain reacted tho. 100% puts me off making a walking mod or spawn selector now
I've found the game only about a couple of weeks ago, and I dove head-first into modding when I figured out it was a thing. This game can be a beauty if properly modded. But alas, if this is the direction the devs are going, it only made me look further into Session, and I have to say, so far it has shown itself to be as good if not better than SkaterXL. Definitely much more feature complete at it's base level. I backed up my installed version of SXL but at this point I'm just too disappointed to want to play it anymore, and instead keep on trying to learn Session.
Good informative video! I like that you included the Discord angle, a lot of discord channels have the same issue with people taking trolling too far and turning it into harassment. Maybe without even realizing. Dain choose the nuclear option sadly with the legal action threat, which also sends a terrible message to all other modders. Not sure I would spend my time on this game if I were a modder, with the devs being this trigger happy.
Milky a class act as always. This game really could be so much more amazing than it already is. Let's be adults and try and have conversation as opposed to bashing so we don't run into this stupid drama again. Let this be a lesson.
We should all, as a community try and bring Easy Day and Dawg together. Because I know we’re all waiting on something good to happen to this game. And I feel like if they won’t come together themselves, the people of the community would be able to try and bring them together. I just want this game to do good and there’s so much potential to it.
Appreciate your perspective on this. Well spoken. Its always been about communication with this game specifically. Skating games shouldn’t be that hard.
I think this situation only adds about 0.1% to the whole toxicity and incompetence of Easy Day. They're just a bunch of egocentric dudes that have been ignoring their customers for years at this point. Literally all the community wanted was more realistic physics, it's the #1 requested improvement, yet they keep their goddamn moon gravity because of their 'original vision'... well I got some news for this crappy dev team, you don't build a product based on a childish vision, you build it according to your customer's needs. And they simply failed at it because they didn't learn it along the way. It's too late now and they deserve to shut down (it will happen soon: a company doesn't survive if they don't listen to their customers).
it is like easy day studios is trying to make a game only for them lmao, why would they say that mods are not the way that skater XL should be played? can’t stand those people 🤦♂️ thank you milky for uploading this video
Personal harassment doesn’t get you far and never acceptable. No one should be attacking easy day personally.. but they do deserve criticism with their lack of communication. All it takes is a few social media posts about the direction of the game and being completely transparent with the future of skater xl.. I seriously don’t understand why they have been so quiet and vague about that. No need to harass or bully the devs but the xl community deserves better communication
Finally! yeah we all just want the best game. Which it kind of already is. Its fucking amazing! the mods and game combined = the skateboarding game we've always wanted.
As a console player im so frustrated from lack of content and no fixes. Every single nice Line ends up In lipslide or blunt just stopping like he hits a wall. You cant decide wich way your skater pops out a grind or slide and also some of the obstacles like pools are impossible to skate
Dawg made mods. If he could make a game better than xl he wouldn't make mods. Maybe one day hell do it, but that takes a lot more work. People so quickly forget easy day did
For a company of any sort to just have no communication to their customers its seriously bad. This situation just makes it worse for them tbh and i dont see them doing anything even after this.
Easy Day should have hired Dawgvinci to make their game better instead of banning him. It's ridiculous, Dawgvinci is the reason I bought skater XL, he's making Easy Day money as well.
@@Thisisdarkdata It's never loo late. But honestly you could say 2 years too late at this point, because DawgVinci was doing good stuff since more than 6 months. Also it's probably the best way to end that "conflict".
The fact that their removing the only thing that has drawn attention to Skater XL, And That they didn’t even make it, is just so.... There isn’t a word in the English language to describe it. Skater XL could be SUCH a good game if the dev team and the modders worked together on everything
While I don't agree with the using personal photos and things and I think that may have snowballed from small jokes about the lack of communication and connection with their prime audience. I would still be more willing to pay Dawg on Patreon for all the hard work he's doing to adhere to what the community have been asking for since the beginning of XL in 2018. Easy Day have been completely ignoring it with this 'My Way or the Highway' mentality. While understandable, it's their game and can do whatever, they are losing trust with the people who have or are wanting to pay $40 for this game. Not every skater skates the same way and Skater XL been an absolute godsend for so many people but it's missing the key features that will immortalise it as one of, if not THE best skate game out there alongside Session, which is what the mods are doing. Hope it all works out without any lawsuits flying about. I wish them both good health and good minds. Great video Milky. Skate games 4 life. 🙏🙏🙏
Regardless of any specific drama with any one modder, it's spiteful for easy day to say "this is our IP, we don't want to allow mods.". Their "game" is more like a tool/simulator, and it has fuck all content without mods.
I can’t choose a side whenever it comes to Easy Day and Dawg. ED ALLOWED Dawg to continue contributing to the game and being paid as long as he quit bashing the studio. Without ED Dawg would be nothing. Easy Day on the other hand has let us down from the start due to lack of communication. Both are in the wrong tbh.
This is a dumb take imo. The “emojis” people are talking about is one emoji with Dain holding up a peace sign saying “easy” and I think it’s ok to be critical to a studio that as you said “has let us down from the start”. I don’t see the bashing
From a business perspective, the studio not responding would've been best. People will always talk crap but they are all still playing and making mods so it's probably not as serious as they think.
The bottom line is, Dain and Easy Day Studios don't care. If they did, they would update the game. Or at least give us some sort of timeline for when something is going to happen. That's all I want. I recently switched from Skater XL to Session due to frustration with the lack of communication from Easy Day and jealousy towards players on PC. But Session is not the same. Just give us something. The radio silence is so annoying.
No disrespect to anyone. Since Easy Day wants to be dicks maybe a small lawsuit for an unfinished game is needed. The mod menu can be subject but also its like the competitor Session has a stats menu. So I feel sxl is unfinished plus trying to implement multi-player so late. So it is very unfinished. Look how cyberpunk got treated for an unfinished game.
I ve been telling SXL community folks this since they decided this game was worthy of a 1.0 status... They never listened and they will not listen now unfortunately
I agree that the devs should work together with the modding community, but the reality is at the end of the day it's the dev's IP, not Dawg's. Dawg just needs to start his own studio and create his own game.
While I appreciate the mods that DV has brought to the table, it’s extremely shitty of him to harass Dain and Easy Day. Instead of apologizing, he just said he’d stopped modding. That shows what type of person he is.
Well said milky, this is obviously personal. If Dawg Vinci's discord were more respectful non of this drama would happen. Easy Days doesn't actually care about the patreon, dain is probably just buthurt by the disrespect, especially coming from a community that wouldn't exist in the first place if weren't for easy days. It just shows how small Easy Days studio is to even care about whats going on in a modder's discord, I mean have some pride
Idk if I was the head guy at easyday and I turned this game into a obvious money grab then I would expect the kids that I affected to roast me for being a lazy dirt bag …
I have the PS4 version of SkaterXL and I haven't played it in months and months. Though once I can upgrade my PC, I would revisit at that time to actually try the mods.
I’m totally fine with people harassing the skater xl devs. They milked skater xl, dropped it, and went on vacation with their money. Completely disregarding console players
Easy Day already have your money. They also have a plan which will facilitate the fastest/easiest path to a complete game, requiring the least studio resources. -- Which one do you think is worth more to them? (Spoiler: It's not your money, because they already spent it)
Imagine being so unintelligent that you integrate and facilitate modding for a game you are developing. Then you attempt to use the strong arm of the law because someone actually started using that feature.
This game has so much potential but easy day just isn't the right studio for it they need more communication and the only reason the game is still alive is mods.
thanks for explaining the whole situation. Garrett video didn't went deep in the drama yeah, the devs are not responding to modders and fans. but that doesn't mean to harrassed the devs.
I knew nothing about all of this until today, literally. I'm on console, so obviously never had access to the mods "that make the game"; I'm aware of them, and naturally wish console had access to the realism mods specifically, or that Easy Day would add realism sliders into their non-modded version. My main reason for commenting is specifically regarding the message between Dain and Dawg shown at 2:15. From what I can tell by reading that, it's Dain expressing his disdain (lol?) very specifically regarding comments, made by Dawg personally, against not only the studio but Dain himself. Not sure why this would be considered an overreaction, as Dawg not only makes money from modding an IP that is not his own but that said mods are hosted exclusively by Dawg via his Discord server. I'm under the impression that Dawg was banned from the mod website before this convo took place, which is kind of a "dude, wtf" move but in reality had no effect upon Dawg other than to get his attention. I very well could be wrong, missing info, have misunderstood this video, and other things relating to this situation; I'll be the first to admit and highlight that fact. However, this situation essentially seems kind of straight forward - based solely on this video alone: Small indie developer spends a lot of their time and money to make a game they and many others have wanted for a long time. So they organize their time and money to develop said game, at least into a stable enough build to put into Early Access. Naturally and to be expected, people with the understanding and capability to do so start modifying parts of their game; no one involved in the PC scene, devs included, would be surprised to see mods for a game. However, one individual mod-creator makes comments/posts/remarks that, for all intents and purposes, are shitting all over their hard work, their studio, and on individual(s) of their studio. Such behavior is not unheard of by anyone who's used the internet, but there is a little problem with this shit talking, simply because this mod-creator is and has been profiting financially from modifying software they've created. So as a direct response to this person's comments made regarding their studio, employee(s), and created IP, they ask him, and just him personally, to stop this behavior or they'll submit action to prevent modder from making money from their property. In reply to this request, the modder says he will stop creating modifications entirely, essentially implying it is preferable to keep shitting on the studio etc than to continue making money from modding. The person representing the studio is surprised by this, expresses it, and then informs that the previous actions described will now be put into place. (I'm simplifying the scenario, and referring to/thinking of both parties in a generalized/anonymous way, to try to maintain some level of objectivity and see the situation in an unbiased fashion... there are definitely other very specific things on both sides that are sure to have, over time and based on an amalgamation of factors involved with being human beings, influenced how this entire situation has effectively played out... again, I'm just trying to be as objective as I can) So dev makes game -> dev releases game into Early Access -> mods are natural and inevitable, no problem -> dev notices negative comments about them made by someone making money from modifying their game -> dev asks modder to stop negativity if he wants to still make money from mods on their game -> modder says that mods will stop entirely, not negative comments -> dev is surprised, did not ask for mods to stop but negativity, but follows through with action stated if negativity doesn't cease How is it wrong for an indie studio to want an individual, one that is profiting financially from modifying their software, to stop saying bad stuff about them? They know, we know, and the modder knows that what he says essentially holds more weight and influence than what just about any other individual outside their studio says; of course they want him to stop making negative comments about them and their game, no one is that stupid. Instead of even attempting to stop negativity about said indie dev, the modder says he would rather stop making his mods than comply with the devs. Sure, he knows (and everyone else does too, including the indie dev) they'll never be able to completely stop him from continuing to profit in the way he has been... but does that not seem like more of a "dude, wtf" move on his part? I'm trying to keep personal bias out of this, but it seems to me like dude is saying "Nah, I'm gonna do anything you ask . I'd rather say anything about you, your studio, and your game. What I will do is not make any new mods, but can still make money from the mods I have already made. Thanks." And he knows that his community will take his side and go against the "mean company who didn't give us anything cuz I don't have gravity sliders and stuff!"; seems like a lot of that community has already been simping over him and declaring him the "true creator" of the game, why would they stop now? Again, I don't know the specifics of the interactions between Dain and Dawg, and whose feelings have been hurt or how... and while that does factor in, it kind of seems ridiculous to hate on an indie dev (who isn't as transparent as many would like, and haven't implemented changes a large number of people beg for daily) because a modder said he'll stop making new mods (mods that a very large percentage of players love and deem necessary to have fun) all over the simple request by the dev for the modder to stop bad-mouthing them publicly. He could have said he'd stop posting negative posts and jokes etc blah blah about them, but continued to do so privately if he really needed to. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill, imo. Skater XL can, obviously, be better than what Easy Day has released to us officially; however, do they deserve no recognition at all for making the game in the first place... simply because one modder didn't want to cooperate with them for whatever reason, and because there's another game like SXL out now that has become better? If SXL hadn't gone to v1.0 when it did, and ED didn't do all they've done and haven't done, then Session could easily be a much bigger "pile of shit" now than it was or SXL was/is. Be happy with what you've got, not what you don't have YET. There doesn't always have to be a "villain and hero" in every scenario, nor does everything have to be "drama" in some way, shape, or form... sometimes shit just happens, and that's it. Thanks for reading the first draft of my book... wow this was long!
Dawg doesn’t make mods using skaterxl files so it’s perfectly legal . They are also completely free. ALOT of what you posted is incorrect information. Delete your comment.
If dain would of done what he was supposed to be doing with his game , communicating with community and giving support to console players, they wouldn't be in the tight spot they are in. Dawgavinci made the game great and the reason why everybody wanted to play game.
With this, Session is where I’ll be jamming now. Easy day has been messing up with their community for a long time. They refused to listen to what the fans what, then with his unprofessional attitude towards dawg just shows the complete disregard for the community. Dawg did make the game what it is, not easy day. People support his patreon for giving sxl players what they want but don’t get from the devs. Yeah harassment is bad, but he brought it on himself with the attitude. Had easy day just listened to their community to begin with, this wouldn’t have happened. Had he not came out trying to be a tuffy, it wouldn’t have escalated like it has. You reap what you sow. They know it now, I guarantee that.
Easy Day has been out of touch with the community since the beginning. DawgVinciXL FTW.
Woah didnt expect to see you here
Damn you here
Huh? Frank in Milky's comments? :o
Yo awesome to see big creators supporting him
randomfrankp????? nice.
Just so no-one is confused, here are the facts about the Dawg thing:
- Dawg is banned from mod.io.

Even THPS games essentially have stat sliders lmao..
I love SXL but damn this situation really has gotten bad. Easy Day needs to step up to the plate.
That was one of the first things Session added. Shit they even added "legacy" controls for people that only want skate 4 lol
Dawg should just team up with others and make his own skateboarding game
I think that's the big takeaway from this situation, at the end of the day no matter how much work you put into mods you'll always be at arms length from the studio as a modder. I feel the same about some fallout mods, if you're gonna spend the time anyways just make a better game, he could get backing easily and probably blow this game out of the water
SkateboarderXL
that's a whole other level of developing.
Too difficult, that is why he is doing mods. We love him for the mods and he is amazing at it, but everyone here is just casually underselling how hard it is to build a game from the ground up.
lol if it was that simple, there would be tons of skateboarding games
They most level headed response I’ve heard on this topic. In my opinion, I don’t know if SXL can recover from this. It seems a lot of people have jumped ship already
steam charts show skater xl is still preferred on pc but you might be right if you're talking about console though.
I'm on xbox and I play Session way more than sxl. Even when Session was broken for a while I always played session more. Skater XL had potential but at this point they blew it. Skater XL doesn't have primos programmed into the game, yet you can still do them, due to physics ☝
So don't tell me session has a better foundation because they don't.
Really disappointed in „easy days“… However i think this is a huge chance for Session as their Sales probably rose lately which may lead to Crea-ture working even harder on their game!

He isn't going to. Session mods use is C# he is a master in C++ and it is backwards to go from C++ TO # FOR him, his words.. Also Session is the most expensive pre alpha game ever released (fact) and until the animation update comes it looks like the stats are irrelevant as the range of motion from the place holder animations are just "pre alpha" and so unrealistic in a lot of scenarios, not to mention the delay in the controls.

This is the most level headed approach to covering this. I appreciate your take on this shit show.
Very well put. They said on JL Nightmarre's video that they will communicate about it. I really hope that they come up at least with some info on what they want the game to be... I really don't understand how they can continue to handle things the way they do. So much drama could be avoided.
I’m honestly just waiting for Easy Day to announce they’re discontinuing development on the game. I feel it coming.

I think this situation only adds about 0.1% to the whole toxicity and incompetence of Easy Day.
I find the only redeemable thing about skaterxl is its modding community creating content the devs don't seem to want to do.

Dawg did nothing wrong
This is a dumb take imo. The “emojis” people are talking about is one emoji with Dain holding up a peace sign saying “easy” and I think it’s ok to be critical to a studio that as you said “has let us down from the start”. I don’t see the bashing
From a business perspective, the studio not responding would've been best. People will always talk crap but they are all still playing and making mods so it's probably not as serious as they think.
Sure there's a lot of mods but there's only one DawgVinci and the community has his back.
Easy Day should hire DawgVinci instead of banning him, they just lost the biggest chance to make the best skateboarding game yet
that would be the worst thing dawg could ever do. they didnt listen to the lead dev of the game, you think they'd listen to dawg?
Easy Day: we want to make a fun skateboarding game
Us: add stats
Easy Day: F you dawgvinchi you ruined our game
Thank goodness for Session and Creature. Game is not perfect, but at least the studio cares about the community.
Ur the man bro so down to earth y can't we all be like milky
Vinci has worked harder on this game than its actual developers
I still cant understand why easy day studios wont add a stats menu that theyve made themselves. Seems like a simple solution to me
No disrespect to anyone. Since Easy Day wants to be dicks maybe a small lawsuit for an unfinished game is needed. The mod menu can be subject but also its like the competitor Session has a stats menu. So I feel sxl is unfinished plus trying to implement multi-player so late. So it is very unfinished. Look how cyberpunk got treated for an unfinished game.
preach
Fax bro
I ve been telling SXL community folks this since they decided this game was worthy of a 1.0 status...
They never listened and they will not listen now unfortunately
At this point they should just make a post saying their done with the game coz it’s been going down hill since It dropped on console unfortunately
Skater XL team are so stubborn and old school boomers that don’t understand the social media community
I agree that the devs should work together with the modding community, but the reality is at the end of the day it's the dev's IP, not Dawg's. Dawg just needs to start his own studio and create his own game.
this might sound lazy but is it possible to buy a pre modded copy of skaterxl?
If Dawg quits making mods, we won't see any progress on the game PERIOD.
(Spoiler: It's not your money, because they already spent it)
Just waiting for console to get love
Keep waiting
@@ultimatenirvanatribute okay😐
@Yotoko Maremoto☆☆☆☆☆ session dosnt meet my interest
Imagine being so unintelligent that you integrate and facilitate modding for a game you are developing.
Then you attempt to use the strong arm of the law because someone actually started using that feature.
funny this is the first milky video ive ever seen with a session ad in the middle
Please make tutorial about all varial flips and hard flips, it make me stressfull
This game has so much potential but easy day just isn't the right studio for it they need more communication and the only reason the game is still alive is mods.
thanks for explaining the whole situation. Garrett video didn't went deep in the drama
yeah, the devs are not responding to modders and fans. but that doesn't mean to harrassed the devs.
Just shows how there is too much immaturity in this community
However, this situation essentially seems kind of straight forward - based solely on this video alone:
Small indie developer spends a lot of their time and money to make a game they and many others have wanted for a long time.
(I'm simplifying the scenario, and referring to/thinking of both parties in a generalized/anonymous way, to try to maintain some level of objectivity and see the situation in an unbiased fashion... there are definitely other very specific things on both sides that are sure to have, over time and based on an amalgamation of factors involved with being human beings, influenced how this entire situation has effectively played out... again, I'm just trying to be as objective as I can)
So dev makes game -> dev releases game into Early Access -> mods are natural and inevitable, no problem -> dev notices negative comments about them made by someone making money from modifying their game -> dev asks modder to stop negativity if he wants to still make money from mods on their game -> modder says that mods will stop entirely, not negative comments -> dev is surprised, did not ask for mods to stop but negativity, but follows through with action stated if negativity doesn't cease
How is it wrong for an indie studio to want an individual, one that is profiting financially from modifying their software, to stop saying bad stuff about them? Thanks."
And he knows that his community will take his side and go against the "mean company who didn't give us anything cuz I don't have gravity sliders and stuff!"; seems like a lot of that community has already been simping over him and declaring him the "true creator" of the game, why would they stop now?
Lol easy day stole a portion of Silents multiplayer code. Funny stuff.
they are shady af it seems like
If dain would of done what he was supposed to be doing with his game , communicating with community and giving support to console players, they wouldn't be in the tight spot they are in. Dawgavinci made the game great and the reason why everybody wanted to play game.
great gameplay in the background!
I haven’t played this in months. The Shawn White of sim skating games
