ZERO to HERO!!! MASSIVE Snakehead DESTROYS Frog & Saves the Day!!!

- It was a great day to be on the water in late August for some summer bass fishing, but the weather was too nice for the bass to cooperate. I fished for almost 8 hour for one dink bass and was ready to pack it up, but saw a good patch of grass in the back of a cove that deserved some attention. The snakeheads are thick in my local lake so I decided to throw a topwater frog over the grass to see if anything was home. A few northern snakeheads showed themselves by following my frog, but didn't commit. A change in color was all it took to get a GIANT snakehead to destroy my frog and make my day!!! If the bass fishing is slow, I can always do some snakehead fishing in hopes of salvaging the day!

You really can't beat a topwater snakehead bite. Years ago I used to fish this lake when I was in the area a lot. I've been debating about coming back down to look for Longear Sunfish. I hear they are in most lakes and ponds in MoCo. Awesome video!

Got my first snakehead at LSL a couple weeks ago on awesome topwater frog bite - so cool! I didn’t measure, but I guess he was around 25”.

What a monster, good call on changing to bullfrog colors, seemed to do the trick! I caught one on a horny toad the other day close to the bridge, hope they don't impact the bass too much!
wow that is a big fish.i jope they don't ruin the bass fishing. as bad as i want to i font know if i could commit to fishin all dsu for a snakehead.i wss told there easy to catch but it appears not.like a musky a millipn casts fir nothin..i use buzzbaits

Nice catch......It sucks that they are so pervasive in that lake now. Once they get in....they multiply so fast. In the Potomac, they supposedly have not hurt the bass population....I hope they don't adversely affect the population in LS

Snakehead mouths I doubt can eat a 2 pound smallie or largie, the biggest threat is blue and flathead catfish that can easily eat 4 pound bass

Mild, Flaky, Moist and takes any kind of seasoning very well. Fried, Grilled, Blackened...you name it. No bones about it! Literally.
