Lisette reminds me so much of the remarkable Cuban-Americans my wife and I met when we moved for a time to Miami: down-to-earth, funny, goal oriented, charismatic. They built that city and Lisette has built a wonderful career.
I started following, appreciating, and being in awe of this women about 4 years ago. I try to learn from as many people as I can, all artists, musicians, and voice types and incorporate the gifts they offer through these interviews and performances. Lisette is very special beyond her gift of voice. She is like an “old soul” and she teaches so much through her foundations in habit and skill sets. It doesn’t matter what you do whether it’s performing, running, or walking the dog 😂 if you have strong habits and skill sets you can be successful and find gratitude in what you achieve and do in this life. Thank you for your gifts and sharing them with the world. Oxoxo
This is more an interview about life and human matters around music! Thank you! Because music is beautiful, being a musician/singer is beautiful but it is only a part of life and our processes as human beings! Thank you for your very smart and insightful sharing, Lisette!
Lisette, you are a jewel of humanity. I hope you will still be active on net (or whatever future media) when my (4-yr-old) grand-daughter becomes a teen. I wish I could steer her to your operas and talks to learn what makes a person good and desirable.
So SO incredibly refreshing!! Really a breath of fresh air in the sometimes annoyingly haughty stale opera community. How encouraging! And with pipes that could literally out-sing any heffer in any opera house/concert hall today. Come thru humility!!!
Dear Lisette, what you are saying about the mountains and feelings really small, looking at the world instead of being looked at moved me deeply. (35:09 and following)
I absolutely love her. She’s smart and you can see she is studious and I hope she stays that way. You can see her growth both as a singer and as an artist. She has a lot of taste and respect of style which is rare nowadays. I wish she would find a more free approach to high notes, I am honestly scared that her instrument will be damaged by the larynx tension. I would love to follow her growth in a long and steady career.
Lisette you are so wise[in the nicest sense possible] thank you for restoring my faith and belief that there are people out there that follow their instinct
I enjoyed the interview...and I'm an INTJ. Close enough. As a musician, I also "feel". I think I instinctively recognized the similarities of thought processing as he guided Lisette through the interview.
I always listen tô Lisset but i didnt really know her career. I never imagined that struggle with weight and i identify myself with everthing she said about It and about her mother. I hope to leave this legacy to my daughter.
Funny you should ask, Asher Rubenstein! Despite our tiny budget, we are trying to put together a podcast version of the series. It would be great if you or anyone else could contribute, at www.livingtheclassicallife.com/. Thanks so much for watching!
@@LisetteOropesaSoprano You may be a good singer but as an understanding voice teacher? You are a snob! Don't ever dismiss a potential student's concerns about damaging their voice. Wow you are selfish. Why not explain instead of being aloof and curt. Boooo
Really interesting when she says at the very beginning of the interview that she insists in pronouncing her name incorrectly ….. I guess she also insists in singing incorrectly as well. What a small, underdeveloped squeaky voice !!! The high notes are just unbearable!!!
She is a wonderful singer and a delightful person.
We agree!
Listening to Lisette is like therapy. Thank you for being open and smart and just a beautiful human being
She really is
We’re terrible at running. “Perfect, let’s do that!” 😆👍🏻

when you hear someone who radiates talent and greatness, you feel so much smaller and envious. how can we ever hope to match such an achiever?
Everyone can learn some important life lessons from Lisette. Should be a class all by itself. Well done and well said.
Thanks for watching, patrick walsh!

Ok I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but personally The Metropolitan house's costumes aren't my favorite.. 😅

Me thinking she was still in her 20's...
I disagree about changing the vibrato.
What if you practice the wrong things? Then you get even worse. Practice is a double edged sword.

Lisette Oropesa I love this re-reply.
