I'm missing so many roles!! I sang the Rheinmaiden, the Woodbird, Miranda in Enchanted Island...I think there's 15 total! I couldn't remember them all!! haha
When in doubt, check the met opera archives! :-P The number is indeed 15 if you count Woglinde in Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung as just one: - The Enchanted Island: Miranda - Falstaff: Nannetta - Götterdämmerung: Woglinde - Hänsel und Gretel: Dew Fairy - Hänsel und Gretel: Gretel - Idomeneo: Woman - Iphigénie en Tauride: First Priestess - Manon Lescaut: Madrigalist - Le Nozze di Figaro: Susanna - Orfeo ed Euridice: Amore - Das Rheingold: Woglinde - Rigoletto: Gilda - La Rondine: Lisette - Siegfried: Forest Bird - Suor Angelica: Lay Sister - Werther: Sophie Absolutely love the interview by the way, can't wait for the second part!
And you have come such a long way since your Met roles, singing now so many leading roles in all the major houses of the world ! I love your Meyerbeers (hope you'll get to sing Robert le Diable on stage), and maybe one day Massenet's Esclarmonde ??? I was REALLY looking forward to hearing you in the Bastille Hamlet, forgetting that you were not cast for the last performance ! 😪 But I'll always remember the wonderful evenings you gave us at Garnier singing Konstanze. I was a stage crew on that show, and was very impressed !!! All the best, Lisette, for a marvellous career !!!
So true about the instrumental training, which is particularly helpful for a coloratura soprano (I'm also a clarinetist), and it really shows in your singing!
What a lovely relationship you had with your mom, Lisette! You echoed what I have always said of my mom -- my strictest critic. I do get a bit nervous, too, when she watches me in concert.
Ti ricordi Dr Fulton Direttore corale? E ti ricordi professore Robert Grayson, Senz'altro!!
This woman plays a league of herself in every aspect. I think it's the first time in my life I'd like to be heterosexual, for a moment at least, in order to be able to appreciate her more deeply and accurately. I don't trust she will reach the place in opera she deserves (JS is still generally considered in 2019 a great singer, wich clearly indicates that something doesn't work properly in that world) but she is big. Trully big. Oropesa has it all.

Please, Oropesa, make podcasts! You're delightful to listen to (I mean, when you tell stories too) !
great energy and beautiful enunciation in addtion to a magnificent voice
She is so interesting! Not all singers have all that much to say, but Lisette is fascinating.
Shucks...I'm flattered! :)
I am captivated by this artist. She is so lovely, stupendously talented, and gorgeously human.

What a beautiful interview.❤️
Lisette Oropesa , Great singer
My new opera hero- the past five years. Wonderful gal!
Lisette, you are amazing......great interview.
What a fabulous and eloquent lady!
I love Lisette! She's amazing!
Aww thanks so much!! You are too!
So true about the instrumental training, which is particularly helpful for a coloratura soprano (I'm also a clarinetist), and it really shows in your singing!
You know what? I'm in love with your singing. You are my 3rd favorite opera singer apart from Maria Callas and Leontyne Price.
Thank you very much that is so sweet!!
What a lovely relationship you had with your mom, Lisette! You echoed what I have always said of my mom -- my strictest critic. I do get a bit nervous, too, when she watches me in concert.
As a voice student i loved this interview, the insight it gave on the process of becoming a singer!

Love this interview! So inspiring!!💗
I can’t wait for part 2!!
Thanks so much that is so kind of you! :)

Intrressante
You are lovely!
Who are your favorite opera singers of the past?
Thanks for asking! I love all the greats! Callas, Scotto, Moffo, Price, just to name a few sopranos...
Lisette Oropesa Ohh myyy.. we have the same taste except for Scotto. Lol. She said negative things about Callas. I got turned off haha.

The petty politics is what did me in. I just wasn't strong enough to fight back.
Yeah, she is a light lyric coloratura BUT her voice is not super high.
