The QF 3.7 Ram is a very sad tank destroyer in War Thunder's British tech tree. Though it has high penetration, it is very inflexible.

the difference in performance between ap and aphe remains one of the most baffling things in this game. its actually insane.
I don't know if aphe would make this a good vehicle, but at least it wouldn't be as frustrating.
The worst part about this tank is not the spall, is the inacuracy of the gun. From the second shot foward the shells start going random and everytime i play it feels terrible

You should try the pbv 301, things stupid fun to play with as its a 1960’s tank at 2.0.
bro that thing's responsiveness is painful. no turret rotation, no elevation, the platform is underpowered as hell, and it gets a generic 20mm with small clips
@@akoshegyi6567bc its a discount APC. It does semi-decently what it was designed to do, but here it must behave as a SPAA which isn't his intended role. Some tanks shouldn't be in the game in the first place.
It's on a 30s hull so it averages out to the 40s where other vehicles are

After stealing and presenting the secrets of the French tank documentation to the masses, the gods grew enraged at spookston.
They sentenced him to drive eternally across a field towards the capture point in an open topped vehicle, but he would never reach it, for every time he got close, CAS would strafe him and make him respawn.
One must ask themselves, is Spookston happy?
You want to balance artillery better and reduce CAS? Make the artillery a physical presence on the large scale map that planes get. You destroy the gun emplacements, it lengthens the cooldown or locks out the other team’s ability to call in strikes for a bit. That also gives players an incentive to play air defense as well, because not having artillery strikes can hamper your ability to suppress an area.
Holy shit, someone who actually made a good idea for the mode rather than just saying skill issue or something.

In all honesty though it's not a bad idea, but you know basically all the Cas players would bomb players on the ground anyways
@@aiedenoldstien9751 You’d obviously need to tweak the rewards to make playing the objective more lucrative than getting kills. It would end up being a question of what helps the team win. Do I take out a player tank (and kill myself in the process like most CAS players) or do I take out other objectives that weaken the enemy. You could even add radar stations to the map to give AA and aircraft basic guidance information on enemy planes. Killing those would remove that data.
@LugborG To be honest that's actually one of the biggest problems with Cas as it is right now. The rewards.
You get less from killing a plane in ground. Along with the most planes. You literally get rewarded less for something that is harder to kill.

Same reason the Archer, a vehicle with 200mm of penetration, is at BR 3.0 or something.
Ik its like 6 hours late but if you want a genuinely good big gun sniper take out the Pvkv II.
At 4.0 you get:
- amazing gun depression
- an absolute telescope of a sight
- *APHE*
- a lower BR
- swedish bias (you get hit by an ISU and it makes the loader yellow)

Day 4: you should play the M42 from the Italian tech tree. It has quad 20 millimeter canons with 48 millimeters of pen. You can kill Shermans from the side and some t-34 right in the turret. You can even kill m6a1 from the side. It’s also just a monster anti air. It shreds through anything. The preforante mod.35 belt is the best.
I think it would be cool if you revisited the PUMA now that it’s 10.0, it’s one of the most moved up vehicles

You should play the ZiS-30. It’s basically a 2.3 VFW with 145mm of pen.
You should play the American M57 or whatever. The TD with a 90mm, HESH, HEATFS, and no armor next.

I think you should try the IS 3 i dont know if it would be good or painful but it would be funny watching you play with it:D
If you want a British gremlin, you can try VFM5, it's just a copy of the XM8 but without an autoloader. Aluminium all around, so high power to weight ratio but vulneurable af. Still pretty fun.
Its not a copy, it literally came from the came program that the XM8 came from, the CCVL program.

I have this vehicle. The gun is quite good tho. Being a very open AA platform, it has to act as ambusher behind bushes or any visual covers. Hopefully with some hard ones. Also, it would be great if it have timed or proximity fuzed HE, as it's anti-air gun
