Welcome to the transporter community! Make sure you give everyone a wave on your travels. It’s transporter etiquette 😀👋🏻🤙🏻
Thank you!! Yesss we’ve had lots of waves already👋🏻 our first wave was actually off another yellow T4!😆
It is best to wipe down surfaces with isopropyl alcohol before affixing the soundeadening to the panel. When applying the soundeadening, a metal roller should be used to ensure the sheet is properly applied. It also flattens the foil surface in preparation for applying the thermo liner on top.
If only going for 30% coverage with the soundeadening, make sure to place the soundeadening in the centre of the panel and not around the edges. I decided on 95% coverage with the dodomat soundeadening and 100% coverage with the dodomat thermo liner. All joins sealed with aluminium tape.
Gota do what you gota do 😊
Great vids!
Welcome the the endless game of VW T4 ownership! 10 years in with mine and I’m still rearranging things 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you! We can’t wait for the endless tinkering🤣
You are amazing
i have done mine ,few days ago ,i bought the cheapest material i could find and sicked it by glue and brush, good idea if you are on budget
Make sure u guys get your cambelt and water pump done
I have same van same colour and love to travel but seen so many people not do there cambelt
Love your van!! Yup included in our purchase price was all new cambelt, water pump & fuel pump! Always good practice to have them done & like you say, something a lot of people don’t get done but can be an expensive fix if anything goes wrong!
@@bennyandbeyond good to hear I am from Devon and there are loads of places local to explore
We’d love to take her down to Devon and the south, we went to Cornwall in the summer before buying the van and absolutely loved it but can’t wait to do it all again with more freedom and see more areas like Devon!
Nice job 👍🏻 how’s the floor a year later?
Thank you! The floor has held up really well overall, it hides any dirt with the colour🤣 we have a little chipping right at the door step where it gets kicked, knocked etc getting in & out but it’s hardly noticeable!
An off-cut of carpet should cost about £10, you won't need sound deadening, it's easy to fit and replace and it is warm and cosy..Ours is 8 years old and sill looks okay. You are putting cork on a corrugated floor, no way.
Hello,
Did you put the floor right above the insulation (if that yellowish 'carpet' is insulation) ?
Hi! Yes we did, the yellow part is cork - this was a cheap and good option for us to use as insulation for the floor as there isn’t a lot of heat loss through the floor and we didn’t want to lose any height in our van! We put the ply flooring straight on top and as it’s so flush to the van we didn’t need to secure it, the furniture & the fit did that for us!
