Am watching this from the Middle East - Kuwait but am originally from the Philippines. You are one of the instructors that I've seen who explains the art very well.
Those techniques work very well on street fighters, the trapping and parrying disrupts their timing and flow. That opens them up for you to counter strike!!!! 😊👍
Hu bud and H6 possible the only drills you need to learn study kali/Escrima, also add in some Thai and/or Bjj, also basic drill is GREAT for older people, gets them mobile and active, without having to be fit.
Just a follow up comment, when I was in my 30s, taught my dads mate who was 70 he loved it, could not get enough. Now Just turned 60, I still use my sticks, knife, and empty hand skills and drills, but in a solo format.
I took it for 2 yrs ,but had to quit due to working 100 hrs a week. I been checking out other arts but am back with kali UT has various techniques that other arts don't have.
Hey love the videos. Could you make one showing how to flow properly with more offensive blocking techniques were the opponent isn’t just stationary blocking but using more of a batting away technique.
You know I hadn't thought about how it was the same movement. I didn't notice cuz I thought it would be different. How Martial Arts is, all the same flow I guess you can say

Parry, check,strike..... why has nobody ever asked this question.”So, you parry a strike, and the check is there in case you miss with the parry, but the check comes after the parry.... so.... you still got blasted in the teeth, so tell me again why the check is there?” I mean that’s what I was taught about why you check, with that other hand......
GBlues1 the second is not a check. It’s a backhand which gives you more protection as you drive forward into your opponent. I don’t show the full techniques on RUclips 😉
I know you're just showing a drill....but your counter attack (empty handed) is going to targets that are protected OR being moved out of the line of your attack. What is wide open is his body...do the counter would be much better directed to the body. The purpose of training should also be to recognize open targets and then attack them, not just blindly do a drill.
Yes, it's the exact same. There are a couple we're I went to the forehand, backhand, forehand variation but mostly did the same forehand, backhand, backhand.
