Nope the best part of this episode was about a minute prior to this when Tony asks the guy holding them hostage "Do you remember when I told you my boss was a sniper". That was the money shot (pun intended) of this episode.
Since Gibbs did the sniping the terrorist, how long (or how fast) did he run from his hidden sniping spot up to the inside of the enemy base to where Tony, Ziva, & McGee were? It seems awfully fast that Gibbs was already inside the main building after shooting that terrorist that was questioning Tony & Ziva.

The best thing about the scene is Tonys behavior. He is the true hero of the rescue mission. He made the plan, he set himself in the dangerous zone, and he he won the time he needed for Gibbs to shoot Saleem. And still he is the only one, who don't celebrate the succes. Notice, that he just goes to his desk, and sit staring ;)
Tony could've led his own team long ago, but he chose to stay with Gibbs. Kind of like in Star Trek TNG, Riker was offered his own ship multiple times, but chose to stay with Picard, out of sheer loyalty and respect. I think this scene reinforces the fact that Tony is Gibbs' #1.
I always thought that was a fitting analogy given that, like Jonathan Frakes, Michael Weatherly knew a promotion for his character would mean unemployment for him.

I started shipping them after this and there’s a moment after ziva get punched in the face in the super marine episode as well that sort of kicked it into gear. It’s when abbys ranting about the team getting hurt and ziva grabs her face to focus her and goes I’m alright everyone is alright
I thought Zabby was Abby's name for herself when she's so tired she becomes like a zombie. Just imagine that scene: Abby: "Must eat brain!" McGee: "Abby, you need to get some sleep." Abby: "Not sleep! Brain! " Must eat McGee brain!" McGee: "Abby, snap out of it! Boss, HELP!!!"

Ncis is still good but now without Tony, Ziva, Abby its not the same. We are not connected to the new characters. Feels like nowadays they are not like a family. Gibbs, Tony, Kate, Mcgee, Ziva, Abby, Ducky & Palmer THEY WERE FAMILY.
Yeah, I stopped watching shortly after Ziva left. I was really invested in that character and the interactions between her and Tony, and I wasn't really interested in starting over again with new characters.
I have to agree, when I saw this I immediately chalked it up as the best NCIS moment ever and one of the best scenes on TV period. But you should have included the entire sequence leading up to this
i tear up every single time i see this scene. its so touching. at the beginning you really see what a family those four make although they are missing ducky and abby. then at the end the look between tony and ziva breaks my heart. they so love each other and this episode proves it

And truly Ziva´s Family is NCIS... this moment is the most beautiful moment of the show... i love it...so emotional...And i love the moment when DiNozzo go to his desk again and when sit down in his chair...he cant take out his eyes from Ziva...now that is a strong feeling...he loves Ziva so much...
I love this scene. It absoluetely breaks my heart to see Ziva so broken-- when you usually only see this strong independent woman and here you see her having to lean on Tony and McGee. It's so sad. This was such a great moment especially for DiNozzo damn its probably the only time ever in his life he never took props for something and this was actually his idea to begin with, and after what she did to him in Aliyah dang. Borrowed McGees JetPack. By the way, McGee is in JAG as the Admirals girlfriends useless son. Very young but you recognize his voice more than anything. He is replaced by another actor in a later episode.

at the end, Abby is hugging Ziva. Tony has sat down at his desk. The applause rolls on (which was magnificent). But Ziva and Tony are gazing at only each other, with both recognition and a touch of resignation, too, and nothing else exists for them, except the other. From that moment on, they will be THE significant event of the other's life, and they both know it. It is supreme cinematic story telling
Agree on this scene. Another great scene (that I haven't found on RUclips) is a scene following when Tony's car is blown up. The team is in the office trying to figure out where Tony is, and Kort shows up with questions. The elevator doors open, and Tony walks in. He and Kort exchange words, Kort grabs Tony and pushes him against the wall. All of a sudden, Tony gets this shit eating grin on his face. And the camera pans around to the entire NCIS team having their guns drawn and pointed toward Kort. One of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
McGee, in my opinion, had the best development throughout the series. From the nervous, unsure probie in his first episode (the one with the activist on the submarine that Gibbs and Kate had to sniff out during a war games exercise), to Gibb's #1 after Tony left.

Remember, there was also ANOTHER episode about a Medal of Honor Marine. The one with Billy Dee Williams, who played Gibbs’ fathers best friend. He was a Montfort Point Marine, where all the Black Marines trained in WWII. Williams’ name during the episode? LEROY JETHRO Moore! So now you know how Gibbs got his name. His dad named him after his Black best friend with the Medal of Honor.
Had McGee not leg-swept Saleem when he did, there would have been no Ziva to rescue. Only a corpse with a cut throat to recover and ship back to daddy Eli in Israel.
Actually, it wasn't intended to be a rescue mission. They thought Ziva was dead. Tony, Tim, and Gibbs were there to kill Saleem. Finding Ziva alive and rescuing her was an unexpected but welcome bonus to say the least.
This is with out a doubt The Best Moment/Scene in all 8 series of NCIS its amazing how Cote/Ziva can have such emtion without moving a muscle in her face truely fantastic scene

Don't know if you have watched the whole episode or not, but the Navy wouldn't authorize sending them in on the evidence they had. So Vance and Gibbs probably called in a bunch of favors and used old contacts to help them get it done. It wasn't an official military rescue.

I don't remember the name of the episode but it's one from season 7 when Ziva had gone missing and they didn't know for sure where she was. Tony and McGee go to Afganistan and get captured on purpose because they thought they might find her.
This WAS a great scene but the problem I have is how could Gibbs get from that far away sniper position in time to shoot one of the guy's about to shoot Ziva, McGee and Tony? At least that's the way it was implied when you see Gibbs standing there in the hallway.
I thought the same thing. In fact i wish this video showed the minute or so earlier when Gibbs took the shot from like a mile away, then calmly lowered the rifle. But I don't know if I consider it a problem. Gibbs is a legendary sniper... Arguably supernatural. Since the show is mostly realistic (except the hacking lol) it has more impact that he was able to cross that absurd distance, enter the building, and save the day. It doesn't make any sense. Gibbs doesn't make sense, he's an uncanny master of stealth.
Yeah right, they'd keep a whole chopper on the wait at the back just for one man. The sound was most likely added later as the TV crew themselves realised that there was no way ever Gibbs would have made it all the way from that hill over to the entrance of that small'ish house. And let's be honest, even with a chopper he wouldn't have made it over in that time. But, he's Gibbs. He probably sniped the fella in the hallway also from that hill, but just as the bullet exited the barrel, Gibbs grabbed it and rode it all the way to the hallway. Because, he's Gibbs.
Weren't they in another country? Did they go tho their offices without even taking a shower first? I know that there are some rules for Drama but this is almost as ridiculous as the time that Mcgee was tiping the keyboard with Abby at the same time.

The best moment of this episode was when Tony says, “couldn’t live without you”.
You notice that Leon waited until he saw Ziva to start clapping. Rescuing her was the mission, so it wasn't a success until she was there.
Actually, it wasn't intended to be a rescue mission. They thought Ziva was dead. Tony, Tim, and Gibbs were there to kill Saleem.
Finding Ziva alive and rescuing her was an unexpected but welcome bonus to say the least.
After going through all that she did, she still looks better than me when I get up in the morning :D

When Abby touches Ziva's face before hugging her, I just want to cry. It's like she's making sure Ziva is real. I love this show.
The four of them in the slow pan in the elevator, and the first time I saw that (live), my very first tought was: "You should see the other guys...."

Well from one Hotzone to the Debrief you don't really have the time. You get flown back in a Hercules transport probably and debriefed upon landing.

Don't know if you have watched the whole episode or not, but the Navy wouldn't authorize sending them in on the evidence they had. So Vance and Gibbs probably called in a bunch of favors and used old contacts to help them get it done. It wasn't an official military rescue.

If I wanted one episode to introduce the series to a new viewer, it would be this one.
This was one of my mother's favorite moments and she watched the show religiously.
A good ending to a gripping storyline, I loved every minute of it
This WAS a great scene but the problem I have is how could Gibbs get from that far away sniper position in time to shoot one of the guy's about to shoot Ziva, McGee and Tony? At least that's the way it was implied when you see Gibbs standing there in the hallway.
I thought the same thing. In fact i wish this video showed the minute or so earlier when Gibbs took the shot from like a mile away, then calmly lowered the rifle.
But I don't know if I consider it a problem. Gibbs is a legendary sniper... Arguably supernatural. Since the show is mostly realistic (except the hacking lol) it has more impact that he was able to cross that absurd distance, enter the building, and save the day.
It doesn't make any sense. Gibbs doesn't make sense, he's an uncanny master of stealth.
Man what's the problem? There isn't any problem. He is Gibbs :)

Yeah right, they'd keep a whole chopper on the wait at the back just for one man. The sound was most likely added later as the TV crew themselves realised that there was no way ever Gibbs would have made it all the way from that hill over to the entrance of that small'ish house. And let's be honest, even with a chopper he wouldn't have made it over in that time.
But, he's Gibbs. He probably sniped the fella in the hallway also from that hill, but just as the bullet exited the barrel, Gibbs grabbed it and rode it all the way to the hallway. Because, he's Gibbs.
Notice how Ziva is m embracing Abby and her eyes are fixed on Tony. Powerful
I love not only the acting, but also the camera angles and music effects used on this show... The result is a unique experience!

Weren't they in another country? Did they go tho their offices without even taking a shower first? I know that there are some rules for Drama but this is almost as ridiculous as the time that Mcgee was tiping the keyboard with Abby at the same time.

Troy Beck yeah, it's not the same anymore without tony or ziva. Their characters really complimented everyone and season 13 kinda sucks.

Here in 2024, just found out Tony and Ziva are going to return together in NCIS - Europe and I can’t be more thrilled.
