- Jesus said, “If ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15). The problem is that people sometimes hurt us deeply, and forgiving them is difficult, especially when the offender never apologizes or even acknowledges the wrong.
Dr. David K. Bernard explores what the Scriptures say about forgiveness and how we can apply its teaching to our lives, including in cases of severe mistreatment and abuse.

Amen.Even a person are not apologizing for what she/he did,yet I had forgiven them.
Because this is what Jesus wants us to be.
I'm glad he covered all aspects here. What's been hardest for me is forgiving those who aren't sorry; God requires us to express remorse (I believe), so to have us forgive in the absence of that is usually tough.
Perfect explanation 😊thank you
Thank you very much for explaining this matter concerning forgiving others etc. God bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Where does it say to not swear: Mathew 5:34
So what would be Dr Bernard's response be in a martial situation? I ask because he said that you dont have to make yourself vulnerable to that person again 4:57 onwards...
What... kind of emotional state is forgiveness? Is it one of internally countering the harms, the anger, the wish for them to be able to empathize with you? What does forgiveness look like functionally? What's it mean? (Says the autpostolic obsessed with emotions and language.)
Oh. Counter vengefulness. Makes sense. Guess I'll pray that Officer Cena never has a nader get too close to him and for no one to force him outside during one...
You should edit this and use words which makes more sense
What does the bible say about oil? What is the meaning of using oil?
Can someone explain hebrews 6:3-4
Two points: 1) Forgiveness isn't about letting the wrongdoer off the hook, it's about letting go of your own negative feelings. 2) Expanding on the end of point 1, let's not forget the still-relevant cliche that holding on to a grudge is like drinking point and expecting the person you're angry at to die for it.
Agreed 👍
